Greetings:
I wonder if there is any application that can use the HD2 build in accelerometer to measure 0-60mph time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try Gmeter/gPC - www extreme-apps com
Works fine, but U need to have 15e to have it

why it has to be accelerometer?
if you like, you can use specialized gps app for that, called racechrono
checK racechrono.com
I believe gmeter uses both Acc and GPS.
GPS lacks resolution
Acc lacks accuracy.
Also search for gforce.
i also use the gpc, and i think it is very good.
the newest version uses gps and acc.
recommended.
Thank you all for your valuable input.
15e is still way cheaper than $500 for a Cobb Access port. I wouldn't mind to get the AP if they have the map for my G37x .
I will definitely give the GPC a try.
Look for RaceChrono. It's good and free.

Hi Guys,
I installed SKTools and did run some scans. After that I noticed that my QuickGPS was removed from my programs! What can I do to get it back? Is it also possible that SKTools removed it from ROM (If I choose to do a hard reset to get it back)? I also see in SKTools: replace ROM. There I can replace \windows\default_0413.htm can that be a solution?
I hope some one can help me!
What for? if you use the GPS on a regular basis the QGPS part is not needed from what I have experianced - it is marketing rubish - use the unit every day and forget about the QGPS - Mike

Totally agree with this. I'm a developer of mobile applications, just finished an on truck computing app using the Orbit 1 and using the device everyday I was getting a fix in about 3secs.
I 'understand' what QGPS does, and it's a good product, but as mike says, if you're using GPS everyday then there's just no need at all.

The only advantage is when you travel from Europe to the USA or back, it generates a faster fix. However, I agree with mikealder once you have a fix you don't need QuickGPS.
Hi!,
I am developing an Android App, which is dependent on Accelerometer data. My application is running perfectly fine as I am expecting, but the only issue is that when mobile screen is get off the sensor's accelerometer is not running that's why I am not getting any data and my application does nothing. If I keep the screen on programmatically, I get the data but it consumes the battery of device.
So can anyone have any idea or any knowledge to share, It will be highly appreciable.
In my app I am using Android version 2.1 update 1
Thank you,
Regards

That's pretty easy: just move your code that relies on accelerometer data to a background service. It set up a test project which logs accelerometer data to a file on the sd card. I carried the device around and never turned the screen on. I ended up with a ~12MB log file.
I could hook you up with this very basic logger if you wanted.

I actually compiled my testing project against 2.1-update1 (API level 7) and it doesn't complain at all. Don't see why it shouldn't be working

It's OK, but my concern is about the device having Android OS version 2.1 update 1, then does it work? I have tested it on version 2.1 or 2.2 only and didn't get any luck. I explored little bit more about this issue and want to share these links with you to give you an idea. Please make prefix http with these links.

Ok, seems you have a point here. 2.1 is pretty flawed, that's true. I had to experience that myself. So let me ask you this:
- have you tried putting your sensor data readings in a background process (a.k.a. Service)?
- why do you stick with 2.1?
- a) do you intend to use that app yourself or b) are you going to release it?
if a): I would recommend upgrading your OS (there should always be a way)
if b): only 17.5% of devices are running 2.1. Maybe it's time to let go.
My answer is
1) Yes, my sensor data is running in a background process (i.e. service).
2) Yes I agree about 2.1 but I tried to run on 2.2 but still sensor don't run.
If I focus on 2.2 then do you have any ideas on how to prevent the battery consumption.
Thanks
I did not experience a major battery drain when running my data logger. As I said, I kept it logging for quite some time. Battery drain should not be much of an issue. But that's based on very limited testing.
I like using Google Navigation, but it has been messed up every since they tried to update it and make it better. Since their update to their newer navigation, it no longer works at all. My phone never finds the GPS signal. If I downgrade Google navigation back to how it used to be it works great. But it's a pain because it always updates itself with all my other apps when I update them. I've already researched this problem and it appears to be a well known issue with the new version of the app and now one appears to know how to fix it.
As a result, I was hoping someone on here could make a recommendation for a different GPS app that they think is really good. I would prefer free. But I would be willing to buy one if it really works good. Please let me know what you suggest. Thanks.
Ok, The best two navigation apps which works offline( only GPS needed) are Sygic and City Go
I use Sygic which i feel is the best!

Hi, basically i run a taxifirm and use android devices as our taxi system. i recently bought 100 new wileyfox and kazam devices. The wileyfox spark are running android 6.0.1 and the kazam 555 are running 5.1.
The app which i use for the cars was origionally designed for devices running 4.4 or below it does work as in the fuctions work when its on the higher devices but the gps doesnt seem to pick up the location of the driver. If you go on google maps the location is correct yet on the app i use it picks up sattelites but doesnt seem to know where the drivers are. Im hoping there is someone who could help with this as the devices are non returnable so i really need to be able to use them. Im not sure if the app just needs some extra file or some kind of tweak. Hope someone can help

First of all, did yo make the app? Do you have contact with who made it? What more have you tried to fix this? Have you tried to enable high precision location for the specific app?
I didn't make the app but I have tried high accuracy, the app just doesn't pick up the active sat. Snr it just has zeroes under each active satellite. I thought it wasn't reading the map to start with but then realised it's not reading the GPS data correctly
Have you tried to change the build.prop to 4.4?

I have found a higher version which works on higher android versions, unfortunately I can't use this version as it doesn't match my system and would cost thousands to upgrade. Would anyone be able to compare the two apks and see if there is a fix. Thanks

How and where would I change the build .Prop? ?
Had a quick look at build prop, I tried changing the device build prop to 4.4 but made no difference
Just found that the new apk has a file reading libmonosgen-2.0.so that the old apk doesn't have. Tried putting it in the old apk but wouldn't install with that file in it
OK so found what I need to get, the ndrive version 11 cracked apk. Hope someone has a link to it I can't find it anywhere
Hi, i'd like to ask if it's possible to install apk or root the phone to install GPS tracking app on candybar phones for senior citizens?
Because my dad only uses Candybar kind of phones and he dislike touchscreens.
My family would also like to track where he go in case he goes missing(sometimes he lost his way and comes back at midnight) and we tried solution like gps tracking device instead of a phone but he lost that small device so i'm back to square one.
i found this this "Nokia 8110 4G" flip phone so i was wondering if it's install gps tracker apps?
or is there any candybar phone that you guys can recommend me to get with those capabilities?
any help would be appreciated thank you!

There have some good tracking apps as far as I know. This helps me to track everything I want to know. Even I can easily get the updates what my kids are doing and their location as well.

Hi, thanks for the response. But my question is about the candybar/flip phone whether or not can they install apk or does it require flashing for that specific flip phone in order to install gps tracking apks
