you know... the one with the leaves?
i heard there was some live wallpaper made by someone with that water effect but improved a bit and on a different background and no leaves if i recall...
so my question is this...
could one perhaps get the leaves back, but maybe change them to some... different type of 5 fingered leaf? or even a "Pick your "leaf or something"" setting available would be nice too...
background while youre at it...
the small personal wars you could have with peoples faces with your fingers besides the obvious is astounding. this could be worth something...
i have no idea how to even approach the idea.
so i give it to you, and hope you will do well with it... peace.
You seem to be asking quite a lot. I think personally people develop Live wallpapers to their own tastes, not to others'. Maybe you should look into making your own...

i may have never found that without you,
and that sealed the deal with my room mate going from G1 to N1.

i just messed with it real quick...turned it so its not upside down and added it to cyanogen's live wallpapers. just rename from .zip to .apk and push it to /system/app
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2IQXATBF
Can't install on stock N1
Guys, tried both files by copying the apk's to sdcard and using a file manager but they both fail to install...what gives?
Can't this be done on stock rom by the normal method?
you need to be rooted..
Awesome! Thanks a bunch!

After renaming it, it still opens with Winrar? the file name is Livewallpapers.apk but adb push LiveWallpapers.apk /system/app is not working, it tells me Cannot stat livewallpapers.apk :no such file or directory
EDIT: i can't get it to NOT be a zip file, or am i doing something wrong.

Just extract LiveWallpapers.apk from his ROM by unzipping it. Navigate to /system/app then open a command prompt:
adb remount
adb push LiveWallpapers.apk /system/app
Once you add it, select the live wallpaper then settings and you can chose "sexy nexy".
(I'd post it but I'm not sure if its warez or not.)

Funky settings to
this is cool, except could not get it going by doing,
adb remount
adb push livewallpapers.apk
i got it to work by doing
adb remount
adb install -r livewallpapers.apk
work first time like that, just incase anyone else tries and couldn't get it too install the push way.
Looks sweet with the new color schemes available. I would love an option for a black background.

GOT IT! First, albeit very limited, foray into modifying apk files. The attached apk has all the settings AND new(er) dark minesweeper background but the "normal" background has been replaced by a black background, just as I like it. Enjoy!

Does anyone know how I can get this turned into a live Wallpaper...
I was pointed to some information about programming - but it was beyond my skill level
Welp, dumb dumb here, I put the apk on my sd card, and just installed it from AndroZip instead. Once it was done installing, I click Done, and them *poof* phone restarts.
Back in phone, background is black.
Clicking Live Wallpapers from the menu causes a FC.
Just giving a heads up to others that try to cheat and be lazy.
And looking for some advice on how to fix this!
Thanks!

Restore to the Nandroid you *hopefully* made before installing it? You could also try the push adb method, which worked for me, and maybe it will overwrite what you installed.

Thank you! Sorry if I wasn't clear of the get go. Still very new to all of this. I can use adb just fine, but when it comes to placing things in other places like framework-res\res\drawable-mdpi I have no idea what that is. lol. It's from the phone right? using a program like AndExplorer or another file explorer app?
I want to try to do that with a background for the clear vanilla lockscreens, but I don't even know where to begin. Metamorph and all that are still very new to me.
Anyway, thank you for the browser.apk! love it.

Try this
Code:
adb remount
adb pull /system/app/LiveWallpapers.apk LiveWallpapers.apk
That will pull your old Live wallpapers. Put those where you can find them later and put the new LiveWallpaper.apk in your <sdk>/tools folder (because you can't have two files with the same name in the same directory).
Then proceed as directed in the first post.

No settings. Just the option to save it. You can probably change the back ground though by pulling apart the .apk
** EDIT **
Okay, so I tried opening the apk and replacing the droid_bg.jpg only to find out whatever I replace it with comes up as a blank white screen (I even sized it to the odd 1025x1025 size the old one was even though both of them had large white areas in the .jpg). If anybody else wants to give it a try, I am attaching the wallpaper I was trying to use. It is the default regular wallpaper from the Droid X

I'm a total newbie, so I haven't rooted yet. I don't think I'm considered a "power user" yet, so I didn't want to accidentally brick my phone. I came over from blackberry, so I'm still getting used to this new system. Soon enough I'll be getting my hands dirty with this rooting business.
Anyways, I don't have the ability to pull the original Live Wallpapers... would it be possible for someone else to pull theirs, and post the APK online for me? I've been using "AppInstaller" to implement all of the APK's I've downloaded. Just been playing around with the Galaxy S LWPs. If it's a hassle, don't worry about it. I'll figure root soon enough.
Thanks for the quick reply, by the way!!
Can someone upload a version thats not .apk so i can download it on my phone, im at work
standalone version
Credit to ccunningham83 for posting this.
Standalone version
This is what I did:
decompiled,
changed the package and app name,
removed LWPs that install by default,
rebuilt,
signed
updates:
1)removed unnecessary images too, file size now 1.1MB
2)added Blue, Cyan, Green and Golden eyes!
3)added a blue eye version with alternate background.
4) 7/15/10, added grey version by request.
5) 8/30/10, by request added a red version with black background. No smoke.
6) 9/15/2010, by request added a new red version with the smoked grey background
7) 1/20/2011, green eye with colored smoke
Screenshots:
To uninstall:
Code:
adb uninstall com.android.wallpaperx
APK attached, install as normal.
MediaFire Links:
[blue] [cyan] [gold] [green] [red] [blue-alternate bg]
[grey]
[red-greybg]
[green-colored smoke bg]
Here is a video by myghtymouse19 showing all versions on an EVO:
I had issues trying to remount so copied the file to the root of SD then used Root Explorer to copy and paste as R/W into /system/apps/ then click on the the apk and install it... then youll have it. Also even though you overwrite the default wallpapers, this file is the default wallpapers file with one file added the droid x eye lwp, thats all... so your not loosing anything.
Thanks Britoso! Works great!
Brilliant work guys, especially britoso.
Just adding that this also works fine on the Desire. I just used Astro to install britoso's .apk and it worked fine. It even kept all my current Live Wallpapers and just added DROID X to them.
Hope no-one minds but I made a post in the Desire forum pointing to this thread to share the love!
Thanks again,

You can find the new Roboto font here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1309619
I recommend that if you're not going to install the font yourself using a file manager, don't use the flashable version -viperboy- has provided. Instead use the one mackster248 has posted in the 5th post under this one.
There you will also find the /system and /system/apps folders, but for now they're not very usable. They currently can't be deodexed with current tools.
On a side note, for those using a file manager to change fonts, here are some general instructions:
1. Ensuring you have R/W permissions to edit system files, copy the Roboto family of fonts into the /system/fonts folder.
2. Keep backups of your current fonts you plan on replacing (DroidSans family) by renaming their file types to .orig (For example, DroidSans.ttf becomes DroidSains.orig).
3. Change the fonts you plan on using into the names of the fonts you just changed to the .orig file type (Roboto-Regular.ttf becomes DroidSans.ttf).
4. Make sure to change the permissions of each font to rw-r--r-- once you've renamed them. if you don't know what I mean by that, make the permissions identical to the other fonts found in the folder.
5. Restart.
Be careful when doing this, if you do it incorrectly, you'll be stuck in a bootloop and will have enter the recovery to re-install the ROM to replace the system files again.
Thanks! I installed the replacement fonts after taking a suitable backup, just in case. It replaces three fonts in /system/fonts: Clocktopia.ttf, DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf. I think the difference is subtle on a per-character basis but taken together, I find it more easily readable. I did a side-by-side comparison and found that the characters in some cases are a little bit larger.

No problem. I'm really big into typography and I'm really enjoying this font. Windows Phone 7's font Segoe comes in a close second though, and I wish I could find a usable version of Nokia Pure.

The differences are many, but all mostly subtle. I worked for a newspaper and page design/typography grew on me a lot so I notice the little things.
If you're not that much into typography, I can't blame you, it wouldn't appear much has changed.

You make a good point, but like myself, there are those who know they don't need to install another app when their familiar with use file managers to change system files.
For someone who is familiar and confident with how to do it themselves, the steps should take no more than 2 minutes, that doesn't like much work to me.

Agreed. That's how I learned all of this back in the G1 days. Which was either commands via Terminal or switching out files via Root Explorer, so I never even knew there were apps that do all of those things for you these days.

Did you ever figure this out... I know we can change the icons but only built in one's show up
If your rooted, you could use a file explorer app like root explorer to go into data/app and find your themes appicon folder. Inside you will see a base.apk. You can copy that base.apk onto your phone and extract it, or pull it onto your pc and extract it. Inside you will see a res/drawable-sw360dp-xxxhdpi-v13 folder. The icons are in there. Save them in a folder on your phone and manually edit your icons in Nova on your homescreens and /or folders to replace icon.
I know it sounds like a bunch of work, but it really doesn't take that long. It's about the only way you can do it.

I've been trying to make a similar change. I'm using the Sense 7 Launcher and the only icon I have left is the "Apps" icon. I'd like to change it out with this icon.
I have looked in data/app/com.htc.launcher-1 and copy that base.apk to a different location on my phone. Opened the base.apk. Found res/drawable/all_apps_button_icon.xml
My question is what is the best way to convert my image to an .xml and replace the one in the base .apk so I can paste it back into the original location?
Ugg. I sure hope that made sense?
