The Harvest , a good looking touch-controlled dungeon crawler with destructible environments, being developed by Luma Arcade;
Battle Punks, a less impressive one-on-one sword fighting Facebook game by Gravity Bear that’s being ported over to windows phone 7.

Yeah. Note the word "pre-rendered" in the descriptions of the games.
tbh, some of the games coming out for the newer generation of snapdragon WM6.5 phones are good!
Take a look at Sony Erricsons Xtract and the Electopia Demo .... both are billions of miles ahead of anything else I have seen. (If you google Extract, you might even get lucky )
Xtrakt runs quite happily on an MSM72xx processor (e.g. Touch Pro2, Touch Diamond2, Sony Xperia X1/X2). Electopia is the only game I'm aware of specifically aimed at Snapdragon hardware (and even that's still only a demo ).
Xtract is great fun for a bit of a blast and i'm impressed that will run on non-snap phones. Should be a must have for all!
That's the only good thing about WM7 imo, we can now use XNA 4.x to make killer game easier and use Silverlight.
hhhmmm Battle Punks don't look like any punks I ever seem

Sup peeps . I'm looking for games of the type - plane/spaceship shoots endless waves of incoming foes. Any platform is fine - WinMo games, Java games, Arcade emulatiions, Palm games, etc.
Anything like "Angelfish", "SkyForce", "Chicken Invaders", "1942" and...you get the idea..... .
Help out game addicts!
BUMP?

do you mean for the phone? if yes then XII zeal, fire power on rush, sky force, angel fish,C2 matrix firehawk are all good ! i use to have a snes emulator on my trinity with r-type, space mega force and many others. my diamond doesnt have a decent dpad any more! alas!
if your talkig on the PC then again a snes or neo geo emulator are your best options games like UN squadron, zed blades, gradius, rtype 1 2 and 3, popn twinbee, skyblazer, shootmacross, strike gunner, thunder spirit are just a few
the best type games if you ask me ! shoot em' ups, that is!
Yes, games for the phone. That type are my favourite games as well . I will try the first 2 games you suggested. The others I have tried already and they are awesome!
Cheers
If you haven't yet played Xtrakt on your Xperia X1 then you definitely should.
Thanks for the input. I have it installed since it came out, but I'm not looking for that type of games.
The only games I'm looking for are the ones described in the OP - arcade shooters similar to Galaga/Galaxian.
So... the most sore butthurt I have is that my favorite mobile phone game (Caligo Chaser) has not been Xperia PLAY Optimized yet. Playing it with touch controls is simply worthless, and it's perfectly cut out to be an Xperia PLAY game!
Com2Us seems to be blissfully ignoring this though... but who cares now? KING PIRATE is here to steal the throne!

...and has 400% more classes than Caligo Chaser (which is really just an obnoxious way of saying you have 4 classes )
When getting Japanese/Chinese/Korean games with rush translation, I pretty much know to expect Engrish, sauced in some outstanding gameplay. Obviously, this would be just another case of that. Lotsa combos, lotsa specials and it's generally pretty high up there on the action scale, even if the experience is hindered a bit by kinda offish glitches in controls.
*By kinda, I mean this game would be working perfectly if the developer would fix this strange issue that often will send your character dashing left or right for no goddamn reason.
King Pirate RPG on the Android Market: MARKET LINK
In for some Action RPG. Thanks, I never would have known about this game
FYI King Pirate seems to have a data collector built-in & also shows a strange food ad right after I unlocked my screen. I uninstalled it & that crap went away.
I highly recommend that people hold out on playing this until the crapware is cleaned from it...
Not sure if you guys saw this on Gizmodo, but this capcom emulator is amazing. Its basically street fighter, marvel vs capcom, or any other capcom game on your phone with 0 lag.
I used FPSE and PSXEmu but nothing comes to the smoothness of this emulator.
Hope you guys really have a lot of fun with it.

OK Guys, in case it was hard to figure out....
To get a game.... Start the APP, then click on the magnifying glass...
It will bring you to a list of games and then it says working(missing rom).
Click on the game you want anyways and it will do the google search for you. Get the zip and play your hearts out!
Hope that helps guys!!!
So, this only works with Capcom games? I don't get it, I've used psx4droid for ever, and it plays anything you throw at it. Final Fantasy 7 is a great time-killer.
if i don't own the game, how can i get the roms? i tried downloading marvel vs capcom from the google's search results but i can't play
Yes only works for capcom games. PSX4Droid is pretty slow when it comes down to playing fighting games....
Try downloading a different version MvC....

...the first comic book, of sorts, has been published. It's a parody with the Amazing Spider-Man and other comic book themes, as well as satire relating to real world characters. It's a "Real-time Allegory Internet-Novella" documenting adventures of our friendly neighborhood crazy internet crusader, the Amazing Driver-man (a programmer working on this Android MAME build). The story explains origins and purpose of this application, it's about dogma, censorship and propaganda, but you'll need to put your crazy glasses on to see the second story in-between the lines. The story is based on facts, any similarity with fictional events or characters is entirely coincidental...
Hey XDA !
Have recently released my fourth Android game called Leap on Google Play.
Why should I play Leap ?
Leap is a innovative 2D platformer with great mechanics such as synchronized music and player acceleration.
So everything in the game is synced to the music, pretty cool yeah ? The game uses the spectrum data from the music in real time and converts and renders it in different ways, such as scale changes and color changes. This mechanic makes the game feel more "alive", and the results are amazing.
Our second key mechanic is player acceleration, which makes us a bit different from other similar 2D platformers. The longer you are mid-air, the faster the player will go. Which gives us(the developers) the chance to create even tougher and near-impossible levels, the result is highly addictive.

Great game! Hard on the beginning, but it gets easy with some trial and error.
The video ads, however, despite being few, take a bit of time to load in my device, and are very laggy.
