HTC Widgets

Hi,
My Nexus one arrived today (UK).
My mate has a Hero, and on his hero he has a set of widgets from HTC, e.g sense clock etc.. Just wondering if you can get them for the nexus one, ive seen a few imitations, but I would really like the real thing!

Real things require the Rosie framework, which is HTC specific. That's why the imitations exist.

Just outta curiousity, how did WW-D get off with keeping the flip clock look when Beautiful Widgets had to change their design?

Good question... of course BW new update let's you do your own skins... and some of them are flip clocks

hi, i just wanna ask... if you look for weather widgets - donate in the search of the market will you really get an application with that name? i actually have been cracking my head trying to look for 'weather widgets - donate' and 'beautiful widgets'. thanks

Does that mean that we won't get sense on the n1 until htc releases sense on a compatible piece of hardware like the bravo? Or do we just need someone to rip it out of the hero?

We probably won't get sense until an Android 2.1 compatible version comes out. I suppose it might technically be possible to use the current 1.6 Sense (I don't know, I'm not a developer, so don't quote me on that) but why would you wanna go from 2.1 back to 1.6?
It won't be long, though. Bravo supposedly releases in March, and Hero 2.1 update is supposed to be approx. the same time.

There's a 2.1 based Hero rom floating around, and the Espresso rom, so it's potentially possible, but neither of them is especially good. Once the Bravo comes out, the similar hardware should make for a quick (and almost perfect) SenseUI port I'd think. Look at the 32A Magic/Hero - same hardware, eventually got an official SenseUI, and it works very well.
That said, unless Espresso/Sense2 added a lot of new features, I'm not entirely sure of the appeal beyond just Rosie. 2.0/2.1 added most of the best features of Sense to stock Android.

Do they work OK on Nexus? I'd be interested in those. I don't like the Power bar because it takes up 4 spaces - really only want to toggle Wifi and Internet - Plus the individual ones can be put on different screens Are they .apk ?

it seems so unless someone just comes out with a theme like they did with the droid?

nexus one clock

this might be done..and i might be flamed but how do u get the nexus one clock on a g1/mytouch?...ive searched and searched and cant find a link anywhere for it...HELP!

Have u checked cyanogen's rom ? its in there by default.

Also most here donut roms and sense(2.1) roms have it too...

ohh sorry...i have CM 5.0.7 and its not on there... i dont know what im doing wrong..i have the weather widget donate...but i hate it..and wanted the different look...

i see analog clock? but its just that regular dopey clock with the minute hands... i want the one that has the weather and all that but not the sense clock..the one thats on the nexus

i edited my post with a screen shot. the suite is called "beautiful widgets" and that widget itself is "beautiful home"

[MOD] - Remap Htc's Animated Flip Clock to Android's clock app (GoogleDeskClock)

Ok guys... this mod is something i did real quick cuz chingy requested it from me and it is a good idea to have use it if u using JsChiSurf Vanilla LockScreen mod that cannot use the htc alarm clock app to set the alarm.
This will make sure u guys will use the android clock to set the alarms etc cuz every time u push the clock u will get to the android clock.
Please note that u must have the android clock app in order for it to work (it comes with the zip from JS vanilla lockscreen mod) cuz thats where the remapping takes u to once u push on the clock.
THIS SO FAR IS ONLY MADE FOR THE STOCK ANIMATED HTC FLIP CLOCK WIDGET AND NOT THE REGULAR HTC CLOCK !!!
Just to avoid a few future questions:
1. yes, it is possible to remap the clock to all apps.
2. yes, non animated flip clock version will also come soon.

i cannot make this for all clocks out there and meta-morph didn't work for some reason.

to all dev's and themers out there... if u wanna use this in your clocks just use the classes.dex file from the apk thats in the zip.

Yeah I was surprised there wasn't more interest in this. Any chance you can just do the non flip version. I'd be more than happy to donate for your time.

im surprised also... but, if people that use the vanilla lockscreen dont use sense... they dont need it.
ill make one for the non flip stock clock in a little bit.

Thanks I appreciate your time, donation sent! i have just started experimenting with themeing etc. I have launcherpro plus and I guess if you don't need this mod with it I'll have to explore that avenue also. Thanks again.

u dont need it for LP cuz u dont use it on LP.

Sorry to see that not much interest has been shown in it. I for one think it's great and have modded it a few times for different roms already. It seems to me that more people would like the non flip version as it can be modded a lot more. At any rate thank you for the mod, and I look forward to many more that I can incorporate into our themes.

u probably have a point there, but than again... things that get posted in the themes sections dont always get a high volume of d/l... threads get berried here fast.
anyways... ill post the non animated clock in a few.

So I can take the classes.Dex from your zip and put it in one of Stoneys flip clocks? That's it? Awesome mod BTW.

Only the animated ones, Stoney has already added it to all his animated ones by the way. If you add it to a non animated your clock will disappear.

I see no mention of stoney updating his clocks. I've ran this clock since he released them. Hell it was my request. He did this recently?

Witch one is it, if he didn't mod it yet I'll mod it for you. Just let me know exactly witch one. It has to be an animated one though.

It's the blue flame, flip, no base clock. I can mod it. Just swap the classes.dex?

stock apps

i am looking for the sprint stock apps and the htc stock ones as well... i updated my rom and would like to get some stuff back such as the clock widget on a stock rom, etc etc....

The clock widget was a Sense widget. If your new ROM isn't a sense rom, you can't use the stock clock widget. There are quite a few replacement widgets in the market though.

Search around on the development forums. Devs like to strip out those apps but provide flashable zips for those who want them. Limit your search to the Sense roms.

need more info.. for starters, what rom are u using?

If you are using a non-Sense based ROM (i.e. CM) none of the widgets will work as they all need the Sense framework to run.
The Sprint apps will run however, and as was stated, take a look in the Development forums, they are all there.

You won't find a Gingerbread ROM with Sense...you can theme it to look like Sense, but it will not be Sense.
As for the Sense framework, no, the zips that have the apps will not have the Sense framework...totally different beast

got it... well, what are some good free widgets that have a clock and weather intergrated? thats mostly what i need...

Fancy Widget free is what I was using before upgrading to Fancy Widget Pro.
The Pro version gives the option to use a very Sense-like flip clock and weather animations similar to what you would see in Sense.

+1. I am a recent convert to Miui Weather from FancyWidgets...not really as many options, but as far as looks go...second to none IMHO.

If you are looking for a more minimal look on your clock and weather widget, I suggest simiclock. Free in. the market, though you can't go wrong with buying beautiful widgets.

I actually have a few (Minimalistic Text, Beautiful Widgets, SimiClock, FancyWidgets and Miui) that I switch between or combo up...I'm a tool I like the weather forecast options of FancyWidgets, the clock look of Miui, battery stats of Minimalistic Text...I'm never satisfied Wish I could learn to make my own app to make it how I want it...I have tried and always just revert back recognizing the fact that I can theme, but not dev.

better! i love the fancywidgets... made my rom look better!

And if you've got the spare change, Beautiful Widgets is another step up from FW. It's weather animations are much better and it has a million different sense themes and more homescreen widgets.
I can't find my city in Miui Weather, or any city near me. I'll have to do a little research on it later when I get home, it really is gorgeous...

[Q] & [REQ] The real "Flip-Clock"?

Hi there.
I think most of you know the nice HTC Sense Clock-Widget with the nice flip-animation.
I loaded and tested dozens of clocks and widget on the markets out there in the android-world, but i couldn't find a clock that has this nice animation.
Is there really no chance to get such a nice clock onto other devices than HTC?
Maybe there is already one out there and i didn't find it?

I thought I read somewhere that HTC has been sicking their legal team on any dev that copied their animation style and placed it on the market.

Well, what i want is just a flip-clock with "flipping" numbers. I dont mind if the clock dont look like HTC Sense.

Yeah, I love it, "we got it but we aren't giving it to you and we'll sue anyone that gives you a clone that functions like it!" JERKS!

Just released Animating Flip Clock Widget beta. It's beta so bugs can be expected.
Let me know what you think of it.
EDIT: I have just posted it here on XDA.
