There are a lot of ROMs for windows mobile 6.5 for asus p320 and im really confused as to which ROM is the most stable and is the most responsive . Im currently running 23085 build and i find it pretty slow on my phone and i want to change it to a more stable and more faster ROM even if it is a little older version . I really hope somebody could point out the most stable and fast ROM as of now.
Thanks...
Will someone commnet here... I am also seaching for the WM 6.5 for my ASUS P320 device ?
Go there:
http://asusmobile.net/board/
if you want to spend some time for translations, go there:
http://asusmobile.ru/board/index.php?c=20
(review of topics may give you some WWE roms there)
imo, you'd better find/make good 6.1 system, than struggle with 6.5.x fails.
Unfortunately, your p320 is worst thing you ever can get from Asus(omap cpu,), and there's no WAY to get heavy, fullblown 6.5.x with its "new" gui working ok enough.

Hi Prashanth and Sarvesh,
I am using WM 6.5 ROM build 23504.5.3.0. My device is 2 years old and i like the performance of the ROM. Its faster than WM6.1, more responsive than WM6.1. In short the performance is much better than WM 6.1. You can try it out on psppc.in.
PS: Do you face a network drop issue in your WM 6.5 ROM?

I think it's wm 6.1 21054.
is this the bootloader or version of the rom i should be looking for
i recommend mr4r4n's 6.5 roms found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502418
i ask for 6.1 not 6.5.... its prob gonna make my phone real slow anyways
he cooks 6.1 roms too but his 6.5 roms are really nice not slow at all and the titanium interface is great for this phone where its low on memory and would have trouble running m2d or spb mobile shell 3

i agree, im using his 6.5 and its much better then 6.1 and forget M2D, now that's a real memorry killer, it was designed for the newer phones that have 3 times as much as the good old ppc 6700
Hi,
I've seen a lot of recommendations for various WinMo 6.5 ROMs and to be honest as this is my first Windows Mobile (HTC Touch Pro) I'm a complete novice and all of the different options confuse me.
What I'm basically after is if HTC announced that they were giving a free 6.5 ROM upgrade to all HTC Touch Pro owners, I want the current unofficial ROM that would most closely resemble that, if that makes sense.
So pretty much a basic Windows Mobile 6.5 build that works with the Raphael.
What would you recommend?
Da_G's clean rom for 6.5 is the closet you're going to get to stock with all Raphael features working link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513605

Wonderful. Thank you that's a great help
And if I was feeling adventurous, what would you recommend?
Many thanks,
Chris
I've been running RRE's rom and LOVE it. The nice thing is that if you back up your data, flashing a new rom is an hour process to flash, reinstall everything, so, for me, it's one of those "rainy day" things I play with when the weather is bad.
here we go again with the "best rom" threads........
I dont get it. I upgraded my treo 750 to windows moible 6.1 or at least that is what it says on the screen. But it looks nothing like this. My windows mobile 6.1 looks like windows 5.0.
Where did i go wrong? It looks nothing like this.

That version of Windows Mobile 6.1 is the standard version for Smartphones (what Microsoft calls non-touchscreen phones). You have a touch screen phone and thus it gets the professional version of 6.1. Unfortunately the professional version of 6.1 didn't get many UI changes. 6.5 however did. Hope this helps.

That makes sense. Kind of stupid I think might as well install the non touch screen version. It looks better.
The 6.5 is not the official wm. I heard its not stable..
I'm not that advance in this installing thing. I dont want to mess it up.
Thanks again for the helpful information.
this looks good. i dont get it.

Why isn't there a ROM cooked for TREO? Does the ROM for the Wing work on the TREO?

there are a lot of aplications that change the looks of your windows mobile 6.1, those are what most people call skins, just like the one's you use in windows xp or vista...
the windows mobile cooked roms are normaly reduced to it's basics so they run faster and stay more stable, and of course give you more available memory.
if you realy want your treo to look all "fancy" you can google for it, or look deeply in this forum, you will find a lot of cool skins and aplications for your pda.
hope that this info is usefull to you and if you need any help with anything please send a PM.
Here you can download WM 6.1 for Treo: http://www.mediafire.com/?4gxsdxh1tmm

Cooked, there was never an official WM 6.1 for the Treo.

my mistake ;p
in another thread titled "How to Flash Treo Pro," a poster wrote,
"Sprint has an official CDMA 6.5 ROM for the Palm Treo Pro, only if there was a GSM 6.5 ROM that was stable for the Palm Treo Pro.
I won't upgrade my Palm Treo Pro to 6.5 because I can see so many issues on the forum's and I cannot find a stock english 6.1 GSM ROM.
On the other hand, the O2 Atom was very easy to upgrade, and very stable."
Can someone verify this and, if so, show me how to obtain it?
Thanks,
quicknight

well that was me that made the statement, I hardspl my Treo Pro and tried all the 6.5 roms, there is really no benefit going to 6.5, slower and has annoying bugs... the only rom I did like was Heechee's Naked, but... all these roms have bugs with MarketPlace and Windows Live which I use.. so I reverted back to the stock 6.1 rom, and Marketplace and latest Windows Live works perfectly...
On the other hand, the O2 Atom Life made a huge difference in upgrading to 6.5, faster response, better battery life.. no bugs.. better UI experience...
On the Treo Pro it aint worth it... don't bother until there is a stable rom out...

thanks for the reply. I don't really use Marketplace or windows live (bing?) so that wouldn't really bother me. So, then, is the O2 Atom Life the "official Sprint ROM?"

No, both my windows mobile phones are GSM, the O2 Atom is not official rom, the last official rom for the O2 Atom Life was WM6.
The O2 Atom Life uses a rom created by bajok he is on the forums here...
Look at my signature..
I've been using a few 6.5 roms, and it's just too slow. I don't know how to deal with the lag doing everything. I want to go back to 6.1
But most of them seem abandoned around 2008. That is before official 6.1 came out 2009/2.
Anyone rec'd a good fast stable ROM for me to use, no fancy stuff, I'll install spb mob shell anyway.
eta: I think it's worse for me cuz after I install Jp support, it gets another notch slower.
see here
it's about both 6.5 and 6.1, but should help. search my friend
