Bluetooth Stereos - Nexus One Accessories

I was just wondering what everyone uses for their bluetooth music needs at the house. I was shopping for some kind of stereo/alarm clock and wanted to find one that supported streaming music via bluetooth.
Feel free to post pictures, reviews, or suggestions. It doesn't have to be an alarm clock, but that would be nice.
Price range is kind of wide, looking for anywhere from $50 - $300 (preferably not too high.

From my limited experience with bluetooth on several devices. It's not predictable & reliable enough for smooth experience. Audio quality is not as good as wired connection, but is acceptable for some.
Latest device that I tried was Belkin Bluetooth Receiver that I got from Apple store. The audio quality was horrible (AM radio quality). So if it's on your list, I'd suggest skipping that.

Check out this iHome unit:

Well rated for Bluetooth, but the alarm clock part isn't that good.
Best of all, it only costs $37.

I was actually looking at those iHome units, but they look real cheap, and I am worried about sound quality. I have heard some of their other products and they sound good for what they are, that one looks a lot cheaper made though. Maybe I can go to a store and find one to test.
Any other suggestions?

I use the Motorolla EQ5 Rokr. Cost me around $80-90.
Great sound quality! But it may be too small for your liking. I use it at work...streaming a baseball game right now using the MLB At Bat app.
I love this phone.

I don't know of any other alarm clocks. But I do use Bluetooth speakers at the office (IPevo Tubular) - audio is great, and they connect to the N1 perfectly.

Thanks to every one for your suggestions, They have helped me find a lot more places I haven't found before. Here are some of the Ones I like so far:

I really don't like portable ones that much, but it seems nice. Haven't been impressed with any alarm clocks yet either.

Bluetooth Hi Fi Speakers?

I love my XDA II.........it protects me from stealth charges, tells me where to go, gives me email/sms/phone etc, plus it's great for MP3's.
I want to use it as a Hi Fi around the house though as well...... is there any solution such as big powerful Bluetooth speakers that I can drop into the kitchen or any room I think suits?
Just an idea.....
Oh...also the ring tone on the alarm clock isn't good enough to wake me up......so any ideas here are appreciated too....!!
Many thanks
David

Alarm Clock
Hi guys,
For the alarm clock:
pTravelAlarm is the best I have found (I am not an early bird!)
http://www.burroak.on.ca/pta.html <<< for features
Available from Handango - can't remember where I got mine from though as I didn't pay that much!
You can use your own music files for the alarm sounds (just dump the file in the correct directory)

Hi guys, just something along the lines of what is being discussed in this thread, concerning music around the house - I wanted to stream music off my home network using my XDA2s's WiFi connection....and then wirelessly send it to some bluetooth receiver with a line out socket....connected to an amp + speakers....thus i would be able to CONTROL the sound using the XDA and PLAY it on my existing sound system, instead of getting seperate speakers...
Has anyone had success in implementing something like this? In principle this seems relatively simple, I guess if there is any bluetooth headset on the market with a line out facility it could also be used for this purpose...
What do u folks think?? Has anyone tried this out or know of any such bluetooth music receivers that can synch with the XDA2s??

Remember seeing an application somewhere that allowed you to use your XDA as a remote control for your PC, to control a media player, via wi-fi.... can't remember where it was though........
This is the route I will be going to control my Windows MCE via Wlan.

Bluetooth stereo headset with caller ID screen?

I'm after a bluetooth stereo headset that has a screen with caller ID compatible with my Nexus One
I'd rather get one without headphones included as I want to use my own but if they have to be then they need to be replaceable.
Any suggestions?
Something like this - Sony Ericsson MW600

But are they compatible with the Nexus One?
Would the caller ID work?

Its the Sony Ericsson MW600. I have it and still use in the office after hours. The only thing it cannot do is show the track info on the display. However, caller ID does show. Only negative in my book is the volume slider is touch sensitive and can be picky at times, but works. Bottom line it is compatible and for a unit with FM transmitter built in and a rockin' battery life, I would recommend it.

Thanks, just what I wanted to hear.
I'm sure I read somewhere though that track info does show?
Well if there was an update to the firmware I don't have it LOL. I am using it right now and the track info does not work off the N1. However you can read the track info when a song is played using the FM transmitter on the headset. Go fig lol.
Ah well, ordered one anyway!
£29.99 seemed quite a reasonable price.

Don't get me wrong, I love it, that is only a minor gripe. The sound IMO is great for a BT headset. And trust me I have gone through my series of headsets lol....
Received my MW-600 today, will post my thoughts after some testing.
Been two days man! lol Any mini review?

[Q] In ear earphones for DHD

Hi ,
Any recommendation for In-Ear earphones with mic and controll music for HTC DHD ?
Thanx
ma8ash
I was looking for for a earphone extension myself earlier. Since than I have bought a extension cable with music control ability along with a mic I will post a picture and link if you are interested.
please do that.
also tell the brand and model please
Hi,
Thanx , sure I ask for that link.
here you go. I have just posed the same thing on other two different threads incluging my own. hopefully ppl won't think I am spaming.

the included earphone is very good, much to my surprice and for £3.34 I think it is a bargain. you press once to pause and play, press twice to fast forward three times to backforward. If you really want good music, I can recommend to buy a pare of Shure earphphone.
Forgot to mention I am using CM7 rom and with Poweramp player. I've not check if it works with sense. I order on 11th and it has just arrived yesterday, not too bad.

This is the combination I use that works very good! Some people believe bluetooth headsets don't produce good sound but I beg to differ.
Cyanogenmod daily
Poweramp
Polar Bear BT001
Westone 3 - Soon to change to Westone 4
I might have to get a mic extension cord with a jack, as there's no way I'm not going to use my Sennheiser IE8s! These and the Shure e530s are my favourite in terms of sound quality. But these are for serious audiophiles only, as they're not the cheapest.
Works
I'm using Sony Ericsson HPM-75 Headphone Handsfree for X10 Xperia works but the button on the control needs to be pressed (held on) has anyone tried the Sony Ericsson MH-500 Headphone Handsfree Xperia Arc?
Skullcandy rocks
I've been using some SkullCandy 50/50s for about 2 months now, and I wouldn't change them for any others.
They've given very good sound quality, and their build is incredibly sturdy. They've got music and call controls, as well as the microphone you're looking for (in fact, its their main selling point).
I've been using PlayerPro for playback and to set my EQ's as well.
Find the right balance for your music taste, and together, they'll give you an immense sound.
Sent from my Desire HD/Inspire 4G, using the xda-developers app.
how do you guys even afford the ability to listen to music with the battery life of a DHD?
I'm using sony MDRED12LPS, they have an excellent sound, and noise-aislation. About battery life, i must charge twice a day the phone =(

Micro/Mini Android music device?

So, I know about the Wimm One, the Sony sports one, and the motorola one. Those aren't exactly what I'm looking for. I do a lot of walking at work sometimes during the week and my Samsung Note does fine for it, but it's a bit bulky to pull it out everytime I need to look at the screen. Batt life isn't much an issue thankfully. Is there such a device that...
1. can play music directly from the device
2. connects to a bluetooth headset
3. has a Micro SD card storage up to 32gb
4. has decent batt life
5. minor I suppose connect to my phone for txt and other notifications while still being connect to my BT headset (dunno if this is possible)
Thanks for your help.
Android mp3 players and other small devices
What maximum size screen screen size can you accept? I am not familiar with the products you mentioned, but it seems you are looking for the Android equivalent of an iPod Touch, which has a 3.5" diagonal screen. (I would not want a screen smaller, even for just an mp3 player.)
There are models of Android tablets with 5" or smaller screens. IMO, If an Android device has a screen large enough to function as a decent mp3 player, there is no point to limiting it to only playing mp3s, so I suggest you look for small Android tablets, game consoles, pocket computers and mp3 or media players.
I did a quick search, and Archos has some Android tablets with small screens that they sell as multimedia players in the range of $150-200, as well as smaller models (I found one with a 2" screen) that may not run Android. (They don't say, so I assume not.)
Also, there are the Samsung Galaxy Players, with screen sizes down to 3.6". They run Android and look a lot like an iPod Touch. The prices I'm seeing are about $130-150, which seem quite reasonable.
I did not check if any of the above support Bluetooth headsets or SD card storage; I just wanted to give you some ideas of where and how to start looking. I hope that was helpful, and didn't just tell you things you already knew.
Also, if you find a model that has Bluetooth, make sure it supports headsets before buying. ;-) I hope someone here can give you a specific product recommendation!
I'm looking for a device the size of the current touch nano. The wimm one and equivalents are the size of a large watch.
whats about that?
ww.w.imwatch.it/at-en/
delete the point between www
you have a 3,5 audio plug, tiny touchscreen, phonebook, can call peaople from your watch, write messages, check facebook and it makes you breakfast in the morning
^Man that website fails...
I've looked at that before and it didn't seem to fit the bill. Doesn't really matter anyway.
I went with a Motorola MotoActv w/ 16gb.

Review: MEElectronics AirFi Matrix Bluetooth Headphones

Hey XDA
Just throwing out a review for those of you interested in some quality Bluetooth headphones.
I have had these guys for a week and I've tried them on all sorts of music since I am part of a multi media team for a church. We edit and sample all genres of music so I decided to try these out for our work.
Build quality
They seem to be made with very good materials. I've had several other over the ear headphones that feel very flimsy and cheap; this is not the case with these. The adjustable parts on the headphones are very firm and not loose at all maybe even a bit too firm which I appreciate. The carbon fiber part is a cushion and not plastic which was surprising but not bad by any means.
Fit
The fit on these are excellent. They are snug and feel great. After a while you forget you're wearing them which is a plus since I would wear them for hours at a time. The cushions are very soft and there's just something about them that feels awesome.
Functionality
The Bluetooth part works excellent. Pairing took five seconds. They have never dropped Bluetooth connection on my S4, S3, my MacBook Pro, my wife's iPhone, and a few other phones we tested. Pausing the music and answering calls also worked perfect. Battery lasts quite a while and I love that I can use the aux cable for those devices with no Bluetooth.
Sound
Music on these headphones sounds amazing. I am not a fan of many headphones out there with over killed bass but I do like a decent thump - these babies delivered perfectly! Highs were very clear and crisp, mids were present but didn't give them a muddy sound. Call quality was great as well. The person OK the other end heard me perfectly. Volume on the headphones for call was good. I could hear clearly almost as good as the earpiece on my phone.
Overall I really likes these headphones. They have been great for me with everything I do. I like the case they come in and the face that they are quite portable with their rotatable earpiece. I loved that they charge with USB so that makes it easy wherever I'm at.
