Anyone have a fix to get the new HTC widgets to install correctly on the new dc rom? when i install them from the market i get an error saying its incompatible or something like that. is there a fix? i searched the 2.06 thread with no luck.
they are already in the rom?? sometimes you have to go into Settings > Manage Apps > HTC Sense > Clear Data for them to show correctly

I think the OP is referring to the downloadable HTC widgets such as battery widget, etc. These will not install from the Market nor do they show up when clicking to download from the widget list to add to home. I too, would like to know a work around to install (not a different widget on the Market) because I really miss the HTC battery widget.

Oh, shoot my bad.
For some reason, the Download new HTC widgets button worked on my v2.0 rom. It showed the downloadable ones and worked on the HS

yeah that's what I was referring to. I want the HTC battery widget back.

I think the widget isn't installing because it isn't an official ROM, but that is just a guess.
Could be part of the problem. However, it did install on the Eris based 2.1 roms which had very different frameworks than the Sprint based 2.1 roms. I believe that is the real problem. The Eris roms were more like the Sprint 1.5 roms framework wise.
Just wondering if anyone's found a fix for this? I miss my battery widget lol
still waiting for this myself. hopefully it will work with the release keys
Hello all,
I have been searching for information on this for days and haven't been able to locate any help. I spend days searching forums before asking.
I have been bouncing between the Modaco r21 desire rom and the enomther's rom v-1.8.1 and love them both. What i am looking for is a way to use the contacts and/or calendar widgets from Modaco's desire rom on the enom 1.8.1. is this at all possible? or is the framework so different and complex? If anyone can help i would appreciate it.
+1
Yes, I was looking for the widgets for weather and message that exist in Modaco ROM. Is there any help??? Thks for reading.

Requires the HTC custom, closed source framework. You didn't search very well as we've been answering this question since 2009 when Sense premiered on the Hero.
yeah, like uberingram just said. Sense UI widgets can't be used on anything other than sence roms. It requires extra parts that can't be duplicated in any other rom.
If you want sense widgets, you gotta go to a sense rom.
However, both the contacts and callender widgets have been replicated by widgets that are availible for the market.
i used running the damagecontrol rom and its a great rom but i'd like to have some of the htc widgets and apps back like calendar, music, etc.
i checked out this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=588351
and the apps don't seem to work i'm assuming because i'm running 2.1 and those are 1.5 apps.
anyway where can i find htc widgets and apps for my phone?

On another note, I flashed DC2.06 yesterday, and the default HTC Widgets and Apps were there intact, so I'm not sure where yours went..
im thinking you may have flashed the "lite" version of DC instead of the full one in the actual DC thread

good call man thanks
New mod for King's Slide2G1 Rom. Took out all the fluff and extraneous libs to fit framework on system partition once again. The idea behind this rom is to keep the good things about Sense (themed consistent apps, dialer, keyboard), and getting rid of the slow (Rosie, widgets, flash).
HTC Apps present:
Dialer
Contacts
Calendar
Browser
Weather
Peep
Facebook
Notification Bar launcher
ADW is the launcher of choice (8.8),
recommend "fancy widget" if you want an HTC themed clock.
To flash, all you need is:
Wipe, Clear Cache, Clear Dalvik, Repair ext.
You shouldn't need as big of a swap as King recommends (160mB), but I haven't tested that.
A2SD and Swap are automatic if partitions are available. In fact, /system/app is placed on ext, so make sure it exists.
Dexopt takes a while on first load, so be patient.
As for social, flickr, facebook, and twitter are still on here, however HTC Facebook doesn't seem to want to sync with contacts.
Like all Sense roms, BT does not work.
Modded HTC_IME provided by jonas.
Thanks to King Klick for his great rom.
Run market to login to google
UPDATE : fixed frienstream and added mymodes

So this is a sense rom without... sense essentially?

It don't make sense not to have sense in a rom that is sense, does that make sense?
Sensical or not, I kind of like the sound of this little rom. Let's see what comes tomorrow, and I'll gladly give it a try. Thanks in advanced, dev!

i usually do this with all my sense roms, lol i love the xtra features htc puts in the sense builds, im glad ur doing this show them wat sense is like with adw launcher lol
which honestly is not a bad Idea, the Slide is a recent build, basically s smooth 2.1 ROM. It would be nice if someone actually included some live wallpapers. I guess its like being able to shut sense off like in the latest Legend and Desire roms. That feature has never worked for us though, making a Sense ROM into a default vanilla 2.1 ROM
Link updated in first post. Let me know how it works.
Wow i'm really impressed at how stripped down this is! i wonder if you can just push rosie.apk in and it'll work?
I find this to be a great idea. Keep it up!
Would it be at all possible to post another download link,
My work computer and 4shared don't get along.
So why wouldn't u run cm or any other of the other 2.1 roms out there and just download and install the HTC IME? This is senseless..... in more than 1 way.

This comes with all the HTC apps:
Weather,
Contacts,
Dialer,
Browser,
Twitter,
Facebook
Which all look much better than the stock android apps. Calendar or Dialer itself is enough for me to want to do this.

Adding Rosie might work, however all the add program functionality and widget DL manager is removed, so you might not be able to do much in the way of widgets, which is probably the reason you want Rosie.

This is coming from King's Slide2G1 version 1.2, with all the fixes associated with it. Its been 7 iterations since I came up with the idea.
I must say its fast as normal cm 2.1 Good job
Hi,
I accidently removed few (actually almost all) widgets from my HTC Sensation with tool ROM Cleaner. I created my own list with exceptions for those widgets but i put it in bad folder (ROM Cleaner instead of ROMCleaner). I have no back up.
I was looking for solution but I found nothing.
Does anybody know hot to get back widgets SMS, emails, contacts, weather and photos (that's all I need).

If you are running a custom ROM just re flash the ROM and it should re install the widgets.
I'm using official ROM.
But you gave me an idea. Probably the best solution will be some custom ROM. I will install Android Revolution ROM.
