You just need a decent graphics app and some art skills mate. Then export your final images as 128x128 png files. You then link your shortcuts to your images via a registry entry. That's the easiest bit lol.

No worries mate. One thing I should add - when you save the finished items as png files, save then as 32bit. 24bit is full colour, but no alpha layer, which is what gives it transparency and allows things like nice smooth edges and shadows etc..
You can use CSMI to set your icons easily

yeah i use CSMI , but just wondering what a good app is to design the icons
Photoshop is de best ^^
Or you can color draw.
If you dont know how to handle these programs there is always paint ^^

It take me some time to collect from various icon packs Hi-res icons for start menu, office and some other applications. So i think sharing them would be nice. Hope you like . Some screen shots below.
File now updated with 54 icons. Icons for start menu and almost every stock apps and some more for other non stock apps. screen shots updated. Every icons have the correct path name to be easier to apply.
For those who don't know how to apply them just get in this forum CSMI v1.4, wich is really easy to use.
PS: not every icons are displayed in the screen shots.

SEARCH THE FORUMS!
That can be done and the thread exists in which that topic is being discussed. I've followed several different sets of instructions on HOW TO edit an individual icon from the slider tabs, and it really isn't that difficult.

I have a request. Its an image that matches the colorful stickers slider theme and i managed to track down the original icon set. I had a go at creating it myself. I replaced the image with the one included after i had edited it to be squished as you seem t have to do, however after copying it to windows i had no icon at all. Copying the original back it returned. Is there some sort of signing process ect required. Anyway attached is the .png image

So made my own!!
There are 3 different ones as per the attached image.
Each zip contains the original .png for CFC_Gui users. A Manila file for those wanting to direct overwrite...(Back-up first!!)
There is also a cab for those with less skills or courage

Nice icons. Have you figured out which manila file is for the SMS message background? I need to rework it for Elegancia but can't find the right file!
Been busy all week doing the new toggle switches, notifications, status indicators, etc for Elegancia for CHT 2.0 - bored with that now, what else can we play with

Yeah, this is the email background. The other one is right though (3EA7E114) for the CHT 2.0 SMS widget background (which was the one I was looking for ) I had already found it in CFC GUI and have had a go at skinning it (needs a bit more tweaking before I'm happy with it but it's a start and at least we know we're looking at the correct file!) - screenshot below.

as you can see, some of the icons are still grey but when i view my "all contacts" screen all the icons along the bottom have changed blue ok, and very nice it looks too !!!.

Should have used these 3 cabs for on/off and hero. Labeled as per size to avoid confusing myself.
Let me know if it does the trick. Plan B is to overwrite the /windows folder or better still use cfc_gui to load the changes. For that I will need to send you the .png's +/- manila files.
PM me if I am slow to get back here. Keeping up with Weather Panel and Marshall's wait cursors is keeping my free time busy!!!

Hi everybody,
I know this is a stupid question and out there are many threads about how to change the icons exct...
I also know my BIG problem make laugh many people because I should live with it but I have to know how to do it and make the icons like I like.
So, I have to change just 1 icon only in Settings/System folder, I used already uComber and JWMD Icon Changer v3.1b but no 1 ot them see the icon of the application, basically the ugly icon of SRS WOW HD Equalizer I can't change it. Enyone who have SRS know the icon is ugly but the program is amazing. But I really wanto to change that icon.
Is the last thing to make my rom looking well.
Someone said it's possible vie Registry but i am not sure about that because I am not into that section, but I can do it if someone explain to me how.
How can I change that icon?

Sorry but I forgot to mention also about this one, I already used this app CMSI 1.4b and if you did too you should know this, the program do not go to subfolders of Settings/System folder, he work ONLY in home tab.
Any Idea?

I did, but like I said, I go to Settings/System folder but the icon do not show up into the list of icons.

do you see the icon of WOW HD Settings? That's the icon which I can't change and I do not understand why!
If you can not see it in JWD then you will need hunt it in the registry & link a PNG file to it.
Have a look at this thread to help pin it down in registry:

Other option if you have installed srsWOW via cab is to edit cab/exe icons prior to install.

I am here and I can't understand HOW make a link to a PNG file. The PNG file is already in Windows forlder and the name is equalizer007.png.
I opened SRSPanel.cpl,0 and was only 1 link of some "Group" empty, so I delete it and I make this link "Icon"="\\Windows\\equalizer007.png" but is not working or i did in wrong way. I don't know, on the thread is not exactly clear how to do it.

You are right, I saw few icons without text and also without icon it self and i try to replace them but isn't work, also the icons was not into System folder but was from nowhere, perhaps hidden or something like that.
Anyway, this was exacly what I was serching for but if you can halp me to set-up the icon or the cab i will appreciate your help,

I saw the others links in the registry and they was written differently, so I did exaclty like the others and it's worked!
Ha ha, finnaly, now i can change icons without halp of any progr, that is amazing.
Ofcurse without yours help that will be never possible so thanks guys, I compleated my rom.
