Easy car mount - Nexus One Accessories

I wanted a mount for my Dodge caliber, but didn't want to spent a fortune.
So, i simply got one of those long gooseneck one that attach to the windshield (against the law in California) and crammed it into the dashboard.
Works perfect, and solid as a rock.

Did you have to take out your CD player to do that? LOL jk.

No, that's above.
It's kind of a useless hole because anything you put in there comes flying out when you're driving.

The gooseneck swivel thing is against the law in California? Interesting... what's the reason for that?

obscures your driving path?

Well.. I suppose it does when you stick it right in front of you... but in the lower middle part of the windshield, I don't see how it would.
Are there more states/countries where this is forbidden? Just curious.

Yeah, Minnesota is the only other state that has a similar law that I know of. But it's not enforced at all; I've had my Magellan on my windshield for a couple of years.
As for (my native) Europe, I haven't figured that out yet.

That's hilarious, because the same thing happens in my caliber. I used to put my smokes in that hole, but they kept flying out into the floor when I would take off from a stop light or something.
Thanks for the tip though, I might try this out.

lmao i have the same holder but i never thought about sticking it in that hole..... I'm gonna have to try that!

Seriously its great. Rocksolid, and I really like the location of the phone there. Perfect height access wise.
I like it way better than on top of the dash. And its clear if all vents as well.

My N1 Sleeve: Cheapest one to date and adds security too ;)

Disclaimer: this is not really my N1 sleeve but my camera sleeve. I just realized what a fool I am for buying a waterfield sleeve for $13 when I had a totally useful sleeve underneath my nose all this time.

can be found at Walmart baby section, 2 for $1. Puffy paint paws add traction so the phone doesn't slip on my dashboard when driving. Adds stealth. many colors to choose from.
Nothing like dressing up your $500 phone with a $1 child's sock from walmart
haha thats so cute
is it also compatible with the HTC Desire?

Damn i really feel the need to go buy some baby socks now =)...i will actually pick this up if i ever loose my sleeve
I can just picture it now, a month from now. Telling all my friends how much better my Nexus One is compared to their iphone or desire... and I pull a "baby ducky" sock from my pocket with my phone in it. Not only would it kill my credibility but also my chances of getting laid from here on out. Lets get real people.. Thats cute for a girl, not for a guy. I just hope the OP is a girl.
Sickening. The stock N1 sleeve is the coolest cell phone accessory ever made.

[POLL] Did you remove the paint on your ear-piece?

It appears to be a very common problem that the black paint on the Captivate's ear-piece has a tendency to scratch off VERY easily.
I am curious as to know how many people actually got fed up with trying to repair this awful blemish; and decided to just scratch all the paint off to make it look better.
Personally I removed the black paint completely and kind of like the silver that remains.
What are your thoughts?
What? I've never heard anyone mention this. My paint is fine.
first I've heard of this, and mine is just fine as well.
The paint literally flaked off of mine just by rubbing my thumb on it.
No issues here, maybe you got a defective model?

This is bizarre I've never heard of this happening lol
If my model is defective, I don't think they would ever replace it because it's physical damage.
no problem here either,,if they sound good your good to go

Anyway, it was more from putting the phone in and out of my pocket:
Here is a picture I just took:

Mine is fine and i carry it in my pocket with no case. I would think that the piece would be annodized and not painted. Probably got one with a bad grille. If you complain enough they may replace it - hard to say.
In all honesty, it literally started as a small chip in the "paint"; I touched that up with a sharpie.
Next day I had another chip, I rubbed it with my thumb and more came off - at that moment I decided to just rub the rest off and it just flaked away into dust.
Never thought of it....My phone is a tool not a piece of jewelery. Scratches and blemishes don;t bother me. I don;t use a s case and carry it in my pocket with keys and crap. I do use a screen protector though. As far as paint goes...Meh..not worth worrying about of "fixing"

A hair dryer, a dremel and an hour, and some kydex

Made up this joby gorilla mount.
The locking piece for this joby was attached to my last camera when it got stolen, and it's been sitting around ever since...UNTIL NOW, DA DA DA
The phone is inside a case mate for now, and the friction locking mount is designed to fit over this, better fit.
It doesn't quite work as a landscape stand though, unless I take the case mate off. Oh well, next time make the prong a little longer...
Okay okay, here are some pics...

I think its great! how tightly is it in there? Will it withstand some shake?
Good work mate
It holds up very well actually, I thought I would have to drill out a notch to lock it but didn't need to so I'm happy with it.

Inside a Genuine Galaxy S4 S View Cover!

My dad decided it was a good idea to cut off the S View cover of his S4 with a Stanley knife, because it was "annoying and always in the way, waving around in the air".

I will begin the dissection when I have time. Stay tuned!
Why would you get the S view cover case if you didn't like the flap?
They sell the battery covers cheap online

I personally like the S View cover, so after a bit of thought, I'm going to postpone dissecting it because to me it seems like such a waste.

From the looks of your pictures, that ship has already sailed.
It's not like you can reattach the front in any kind of esthetic way.

You're right. I don't even have an S4 anyway. I'll cut it open tomorrow.
Nothing special. There's a small magnet along the left side of the cover, which I'm guessing activates the S-View mode. The cover itself is very tough and very hard to separate, so I quickly gave up. The whole thing is probably made from the same material as the clear window.

Question What is this thing on tbe side under sim slot?

I don't have one of those! My sim card holder is on the left hand side of the phone, at the top - but there is nothing at all underneath it

it's the millimeter wave 5g antenna.
As stated above, it's a 5G antenna for UWB or MM-Wave.

Your phone does not bleed, so it can't transmit AIDs. The disease you are looking to get from an antenna is cancer. Get a roll of tin foil. Wrap it up, make a hat, cover the windows, and get tested every 6 months. If you don't have it after 3 years, then it is probably time to upgrade phones.

Your phone won't judge you, but avoid bleeding on it for other reasons. PET protectors stain.
