I think QR codes are awesome, and will become more widely used in the next couple of years since they can store so much data.
If you use Google Chrome, there's an extension called "QR Code" that will generate one immediately for any page you're currently visiting, maybe it will be useful to some here too. you just hold shift and hit Q, and a small popup will appear with your QR code. Then you can right click to get the url, copy, etc.

[App] Twimager - Mobile Friendly Image Host Viewer

I recently released Twimager on the android market. It is an application that captures links clicked to popular image hosts like twitpic, flickr, yfrog and img.ly to name a few. It currently supports 9 image hosts, plus direct links to images.
It was intended for use with twitter clients for viewing images that others post, but it will work with any android application that opens links to an external application, like the Browser.
Twimager displays the image in a more mobile device friendly way, and only shows the image, instead of the full website that is not mobile friendly and requires a lot of scrolling to view the image.
Twimager is available on the android market for $0.99 or Twimager Lite is available for Free, but only supports TwitPic.

Looks good, does it show image replies beneath?
So, I downloaded it in the end and it works well but I think as is, it is a little too basic to be charging for, even if it is only $0.99. If you were able to add nicely formatted replies to the image at the bottom so you can scroll down and see the replies then it would be a much better proposition.
No, it doesn't show any replies, and I have no intention to add them. That goes beyond the scope of the application. It is meant to remove the "clutter" and show only the image. Though I will have the ability to open the original source, so if you want to read the replies and other things on the original site you still will be able to do so.
I have added the ability to zoom, so you can see the image in its original size, and I am working on saving the images, also I am always looking for additional hosts to support. chzb.gr links were just added last night.

TinyPic is already supported, and I will look at adding support for the others too.
Hmm, the lack of comments is the only really offputting thing about it. I know you say it is beyond the scope but I would think you'd sell a lot more if it could fully replace the image hosting site, and the only way to do that is by offering the same experience of picture and comments.

Very nice thanks! Gotta have the copy feature. Hopefully you can add "shorten & copy" for a one click solution.
Edit: I also just noticed hitting the "back" key on my phone doesnt close the app, it only goes away when I hit the "home" key. atrix
Great app!
I also found that back button does nothing. [email protected]

Yeah, since the app was made using HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript using the PhoneGap framework it won't let the user copy the URL for some strange reason, but I'm going to use some libraries that let me implement this on the application, it might take some time but it will work very nicely

Thanks, I'm going to see what's causing that...
Just updated to version 1.1, and now just click the bar that contains the URL and it will change the input field text and there you can copy by tap and hold
If you use bit.ly...
If you use bit.ly instead of goo.gl I just posted an app that uses there service.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122407
VERY nice app.
It's a keeper
but it'd be good to have a copy feature (i read what you said above about libraries, thaats good )
also yes like the guy with atrix.
back key doesn't exit app, home does but it just in the background...
oh i just noticed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122407
You may want to contact him he has the similar one but with bit.ly
ask him how he made the copy and etc.
I know, I'm trying to implement the library for the clipboard, the problem is that I'm using web languages(such as HTML, CSS and Javascript) and compiling the APK using the Phonegap framework.
It might be finished by the weekend...

How to get maximum out of RSS feeds on Android

I love RSS feeds, but they are not as convenient to use, are they?
I did some routing of the feeds and some tinkering with the gReader pro app.
Here are the results:
1. Offline cached with all images (magazine/flipboard/peopeller like)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Full articles in feed
Here is what i did:
1.Converted all feeds to full feeds using fulltextrssfeed.com
2. gReader settings:
Enable offline usage
3. Check to cache feed images, audio and video. Don't check load full content (it loads the webpage)
4. I changed theme to dark and enabled fullscreen, but it is up to you
And you are ready to go.
After feeds are synced, images/audio will be downloaded.
gReader pro is available on market at: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.noinnion.android.greader.readerpro
Free version is also available.
Hope it helps you guys in having a good time reading RSS feeds with convenience and style.
No response. RSS is dead perhaps.
Many thanks for all the effort into writing this post .. The ability to download full feeds will be very useful to me. I think I will stick to pulse though... It just feels so slick compared to greader that I can't bear to convert. even though I wish it could download images for offline viewing too.

[APP]OpenSpritz for speed-reading epup with new Spritz technology

1st of all. Im not an Dev and an english speaking person. But I want to share an awesome App with the new cool speedreading technology "Spritz".
There is an GitHub Project called https://github.com/OnlyInAmerica/OpenSpritz-Android.
I've grabbed from GitHub the source an packed in an app.
So you can read EPUP with the spray idea.
The following features are included:
- Adjust the speed (WPM)
- Pause function
- forwqard backward rewind (with chapter)
- Invert mode
For opening of EPUP it is more practical to look for a file explorer out the book and then open the app. Within the app you can also open books.
Note: Long words will be displayed double-spaced.
Who wants to test the app can download the APK for Android here

This is awesome! Just tried it out, seems to work fairly well for an early build.
Few issues I encountered when I opened an epub:
- The WPM isn't consistent, seems to speed through a few words, then slow down, then speed up again.
- Sometimes multiple words are shown together.
- There were some meta data displayed, like font size, etc.
- Not sure if the chapter selection is working correctly
Some of this might be attributed to my epub file, I'd have to test it out with multiple files to get a better feel for it.
The only thing that is missing is syncing reading positions across devices, like through Gdrive. Once the issues above are resolved and the syncing is added, I can definitely see this being used as my main reader app!
But so far, solid start! :good:
The none consistent wpm isn't a bug, it's a feature
Yeah unfortunately long word's aren't divided.
The meta is in your epup. Just skip the 1st chapters.
Syncing is a really big deal.

Well the one time it actually let me download the download failed at like 150k. Please host elsewhere!
Edit: eventually got it by searching Google. Works well but I wish there was a better way to track where I'm at in the book. This speed reading thing is really cool and I'm excited to see this project progress!

How about you put it on a Google drive download. Uploaded does NOT play nice with mobile browsers.

Does this apk have the IAP garbage removed? I can't even use Glance, it just crashes without a Google account due to IAP. Would love to see this in F-Droid.
