Hey guys I work as a computer tech, and I get on my phone a lot of work orders, is there any way to print from my phone to a laserjet 6700 series? I tried one paid app but did not cut it
Thanks

PrinterShare ( mobile Dynamix) finds and prints to the available wifi / lan printers. Works on mine. They have drivers for most printers, and a bunch of generic drivers. The evaluation copy is free, but only prints a test page, which lets you verfiy that it can print.

My Fault, didn't have it in front of me.
how difficult would it be for the community to come together an develop an open source app to print? i haven't played with android development at all yet, but this seems like a pretty important function to make android more useful
i wonder if bits of other open source printing projects might carry over and cross compile? not really familiar with the sdk yet

tbh you could probably just set up and ftp server on ur computer and make a folder called "printme" or something and then make an app that will act whenever that folders contents change and will print the file and then remove the file from the folder and you have a makeshift ftp print server lol then just use any of the many FTP programs for android to throw files on there
found this:
http://www.technospot.net/blogs/how-to-continuously-auto-print-files-in-a-directory/
maybe that will help, just use that app to make it print anything in your "printme" directory and then also make it an ftp folder so that when you throw something into it over FTP it will print it...ill try it when i get home

Does anyone know if there is any software out there
that would allow me to remote into my android phone via my pc? All I'm really looking for is to be able to remotely view the screen of my phone remotely.
There is a great software package out there made by
http://www.soti.net/
but they do not have software available for Android.
This would be for use with the new evo
Any ideas?

Picme in market.
You can also setup dyndns if you know how and what it can do. They also have an app
I'm currently working on data access and full phone control. It's kinda hard to get everything working together.

Have you heard of this product?
http://airwatchstore.com/
I wonder if it really works with android. I don't have an Android yet, as I'm looking at getting the Evo later this week.
Will someone try the demo, and let me know what they think?
Thanks
*RoidRage I'm excited to see your product developed. I think your developing in a good niche as there doesn't seem to be very much software out there for this application of remoting into your phone. I'll definitiley have to give it a try.
I briefly looked at it. Appears to only be for Windows mobile and iPhone.

that's what I noticed too, however when you go to purchase it asks you what OS you have, and there is an Android option, but perhaps they are just collecting date, although in their wiki file it also mentions they support android.

yup - webkey works. Nice to have.
anyone know which remote desktop app is good? im looking for app to control my desktop through 3g network (not wifi). Please let me know your opinions. which is worth the money and the better free apps.
Was a thread a couple days ago...i downloaded remote desktop and it works great for me

i'm looking for the best one too. i'm currently using phonemypc and it seems ok but it's a bit laggy even over wifi.
I'm using WYSE or something like that. Works good so far and it's free.

do you know if it can connect over 4g? or any program that can connect over 4g?
ive been using myphonepc aswell. super easy setup when you want to add another computer.
phone my pc is amazing, over 3g it's quick and over wifi it's super speedy even on the highest quality. The ease of use is very nice, and my favorite feature is that since it's essentially just VNC and not remote desktop it doesn't force you to log out the current user session like when you connect over remote desktop. Totally worth the $10 it costs, 5/5 score
LogMeIn Ignition Beta is actually on the market believe it or not, FOR FREE!
It's just I forgot where I found it. You can browse through the market and download it, it's just when you search it's not found. I remember going @[email protected] when I saw it as I didn't think it existed. this was like 2 days ago

I use Xtralogic's remote desktop and love it! That WYSE app is nice too.
I think there is a lot of missing information being provided here by people.
I have used LogMeIn and PhoneMyPC, but the latter doesn't allow for logging in and the former did not let me do any mouse clicks.
Which of these apps actually fully works (log on, mouse clicks, etc.) with the EVO and that fact that it does not have a tackball to act as the mouse?
Ceger
Well, no one asked those specific questions... The Xtralogic Remote Desktop app, uses the screen like ur laptop touchpad... mouse clicks work the same way. The WYSE app, allows u to click by pressing what u want to click, kinda like doing to natively from the phone... why not just download them and see for urself?
I can logon using both, btw

Tried WYSE, but seemed slow using VCN. Not sure I want to try Remote Desktop as I do not want to have to use RDC services as it logs you out of your current PC session.
I have just noticed that PhoneMyPC has been upgraded to have Logon Support, but the current version is having network issues, in that it cannot connect at all. Since I had bought that previously, I will probably wait for that to be corrected.

You get what you pay for. It's not cheap but I bought the xtralogic rdp also and I must say I am BLOWN AWAY. Over WiFi its smooth as butter. It's not perfect over 3g but works well enough. I love how you can define the screen resolution.

I would assume that with a larger user base (android), it'll give a nice boost to on{X}'s "recipes" which is always a great thing as it will serve as references to other platforms running on{x} in near future
Yield is everything when it comes to such approach (on{X})
Can someone tell me the huge different to tasker oder automateit? It looks like that its the same with programming instead of klicking?
There is just one thing I don't like on this app:
Facebook login and using my private data
Why such app need to do this, and why can't I use other login possibilities?(windows live, google etc?)

you cannot do as much with one ex as with tasker. also you need to do the recepies on your pc and then push to your phone and as retsam88 said, you have to log in via facebook. so, tasker is the better solution for me.

Lol, Gmail is free but you don't see us asking that But seriously, there's nothing wrong with them increasing their userbase. Thats why you see Google apps on iPhone.
okay, hey guys, so i have my own website and i have developed a mobile version of my site but wanted to import this into a actual .APK file? how do I do this? instead of creating one from scratch as there is no need, i already have the mobile version programmed.
You will need to make an android app that is built around your site.

Not without some app wrapped around it. Depending on the type of site you could use some of the apps already out there for things like forums.

Hi, I have used ShareKM (from playstore) to share the keyboard and mouse of the pc to the android device. It was usefull for many reasons, but it seems that the developer stop the project (I don't know it for sure). Now I have a message that tells me the beta apk expired and it stops and exits.
Do you know any other alternative to share the keyboard and mouse of a PC with and android device?
P.D.: Synergy is another option, but it is alpha and doesn't work very well.
Thank you.
I would like to hear a very solid alternative for sharekm too !

TeamViewer
The only app I know of that does this is TeamViewer QuickSupport. You can even view the screen. This also works on 3G/4G and you don't even need to be connected to the same network.

I can only guess you did not install the server program from the official source (my website) and somehow were a victim of a faked or modified program.
My app definitely does NOT change any browser mainpage (are you talking about the server computer or the Android device?). It also definitely does NOT contain any virus. I hear from some virus scanners (Panda Security) detecting individual threads in the server program, but they are always false alarms based on the vague heuristics those scanners rely on.
I can only ask you to download the Free version from Play Store and server from my website (fdmobileinventions.blogspot.com) and hopefully give it another try :fingers-crossed:
