I have a problem that I didn't have before. When I write a event name every word get a capital letter Like This Example, And It Is Very Annoying!
It didn't behave like this before and it doesn't behave like this in any other text field except within the calendar.
Have anyone seen this before? Is there a solution?
I am getting reports that many people are experiencing this, and after seeing youtube videos where the calendar is reviewed/demonstrated I can conclude that this is a common problem.
I have made an issue with Google code, please star mark it so it gets fixed in a future update!

I've just upgraded from a Hero to a Desire, I'm loving the Desire but have one very very annoying issue.
Whenever I receive an automated text, for instance from T-Mobile or Ocado the phone is assigning the sender as being someone from my contact list... has anyone else experienced this?
I've seen this issue on my N1. It affects not only automated messages as you said, but also those from other people.
i.e. Person A messages me, message placed in Person B's thread, Reply to message, Sent to Person B, or even Person C!!
The issue seems to be with the messaging app on 2.1, and I know that google is aware that it's faulty. Another thing to watch out for is the random deletion of all messages from your inbox. It doesn't happen to everyone, but if you are having the other bug, you might want to watch out, as they do seem to be related. btw, this is unrelated to the automatic clearing of inbox option in the messages setting.

Sorry I can't provide any useful help, but I just thought I'd let you know you aren't alone. It's affecting N1 and Droid owners too.
Thanks for the response, I suspected it wasn't device specific and you've just comfirmed that, so that's helpful to know!
Cheers
i have the same problem, just from another angel. if i select an contact and then press send sms, 60% of the times, it selects a totally diffrent contact as reciever.
also when i get a sms about a missed call, the sender is a randome contact from ny contactlist.
is there any threads about solving this bug?
The only other thread I can find on this site vaguely related is this one, although it's mostly about the sms random deleting.

There is an issue posted with Google, as I mentioned above
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=5669
I think people are (for the moment anyway) lumping these problems all under the same broad umbrella of faulty messaging.
If either/both of you can upload your bug report onto that thread, it will help google to work out what the problem actually is. Instructions for doing that are on the google thread.
OK so some progress on this, I spotted this thread here:
"http_://androidforums.com/htc-desire/61560-sms-incorrect-contacts-issue.html"
I'm not sure if it's isolated to the Desire, but HTC are aware... it's linked to Facebook sync of contacts.
i heard somewhere and cant remember where that android can send picture and text messages to the wrong contacts and that the sender will only see the issue when they go to thier sent iteams box and see that the message was sent to the wrong or multiple people. is this true?
Partially.. There was a bug which happened to a very small number of people which changed the person who you were sending the message to. It only occured when you quickly opened up the Messaging app and clicked on a contact when all the elements haven't fully loaded.
If you simply look at the "Send Message To:" text box you could prevent this problem.
And, Google has stated they're working on a fix and it should be released soon. It'll be up to the networks and manufacturers to integrate them (Samsung -> TouchWiz) into their ROMs.
There are many reputable sites talking about this very issues. The fact that google has sent out information saying they are addressing the issues lets you know it is one. Not sure how many peopel it affects. The post above mine gives a great explanation.
My evo does this all the time, to some extent. It doesnt SEND to the wrong person, but when I click a person's thread in the messaging app, sometimes it wont go to that person's thread, and go to someone completely random. So if I dont look to make sure im texting the person I want to, it could go to someone else.
Im not sure if this has been asked and answered... My search of the nexus s forum didnt turn up much...
In google voice (where i've been receiving all of my voice and text messages) the same contact has multiple threads. It seems like each days text messages go into a new thread by default or something. Bottom line, to look at a previous day's messages i have to back out of the current days message thead and scroll down (through other contact's duplicated threads) and open the same contacts messages from a previous day.
In the default android messaging app all texts to a single contact are grouped together. google voice on the other hand makes going back through texts a pain. is there any way to make google voice text groupings behave like the stock android app?
sorry to reply to my own question.... >100 views, anyone have any ideas? is anyone with sprint even experiencing the same issue?
Yes, I am experiencing the same issue on my Nexus S on Sprint.

Click to collapse
That's how they are grouped at voice.google.com too so I don't believe it's an app or a Sprint issue.
EDIT: Seems like it was designed that way, the reasons for which aren't clear:

I noticed the same thing. It gets kind of annoying but I just archive the old ones in case I need to go back for something. Would be nice to have one per person but perhaps it's to limit size?
Any resolution to this? I have gvoice on my HTC vision and it still seems to be creating multiple threads for the same contact (not 100% of the time, but often)
Do people use Google Messages. The issue I have is with group text if I get too many it gets stuck at downloading and have to reboot to continue with the conversation. Very annoying. Does anybody else have this issue?
I am using Samsung Messages now the stock one seems I can't upload gifs into the conversation with gboard and don't see an option to add gifs in the samsung keyboard. Am I missing something I can see gifs from others but can't put any in from the keyboard. Is this feature not working?
thanks.
I use it. I haven't gone past 5-8 in the group. No issues so far.
Hi. Just got my first Xiaomi (Mix 2S). Based in UK. Using the default SMS messaging app, several times (different contacts) have messaged me. When I reply it shows 'Message not sent. Tap to review the message then try again'. When I inspect the displayed number, the leading 0 appears to have been stripped (all UK mobile numbers start '07'). Even if I click the contact icon in the messaging app and add the country code, the reply message still fails. The only way to get a message to be sent back is to create a new message thread using the stored contact so that it uses the leading zero. Clearly this is frustrating. Anyone else experienced this or know of a resolution? Thanks in advance.
I'm using the default sms app and I don't have any problem. I'm from Belgium.
No problem in Finland.
Also no problem in Germany...
I'm from Slovenia and noticed this problem, but as it looks, it's an issue of individual contacts. Got it fixed by manually entering number with country code (for that contact) Maybe it has something to do with the region, set in the Settings. Dunno.
also no problem in VietNam
Thanks for your replies. opica - glad I'm not the only one then. I did as you did and updated contacts with country code each time. A bit time-consuming and I found SMS replies used the original (stripped zero) number so failed. I has to start a new text thread to the new contact. each time My current workaround is to use an alternative SMS app. Currently testing both Textra and PulseSMS. Both seem really good and no issue (yet) with stripping leading zeros and failing messages. My guess is that this is specific to MIUI SMS default app and specific to numbers starting with zero, although the issue seems intermittent.
opica - reading your post again, maybe you are right. I originally had my country set as 'UK' (my actual location) but changed this to 'India' and maybe this is the root cause. It seems that several features such as face unlock and even MIUI themes are not available when country set to anywehre in the EU (i think) hence setting this to India in the settings as I know that allows these features. Odd that one has to do this - unless there is a better workaround I don't know of to get these features.
I've had this problem with only one contact so far and it works now with changed number, even with the region set to India (yes, I also set it, because I don't have Themes options if I set it to my country, but I'm not using face unlock, so I don't know any alternatives). If I'm not mistaken, this is because of the GDPR and there is no info about Xiaomi's compliance with this regulation.
Well, I didn't dig deeper... For now. If the problem raises again, then I will
P.S. The best alternative SMS app for me is YAATA - it's fully customizable.
Im from philippines, and i set my region to india too. Ive had this problem for so long now, and its irritating
