im wondering if this could just be installed, or if its exclusive just to the behold 2 b/c it has some files to run with er something

i have had this device for a while now havn't tried to run the cube on my g1 or mt3g yet may try tomorrow...

Tried to install the cube on my g1 (running cm 4.2.3.1) does not work. Told me it could not be installed on this device.

I'm pretty sure it's because it is odexed and a system file. You'd need to push both the apps odex and the apk to something like /system/app or wherever your system apps are being stored

im pretty sure its bad to push an odex file unless its for the rom you currently have .. bad things can happen ... just have to wait til someone de-odexes them (JF says that he's working on that)

Awesome, this is great to hear, doesn't seem to much thought is really being put into this dump, guessing all the other choices out there has every one busy.

Just thought I should let you know that there's a diner dash demo and the houdini app is actually telenav in the /system/app

For those who miss the IM app from CyanogenMOD which was removed after 4.2.9.1
This is intended to be supplementary to the recent CM-roms as the IM app was removed in the last few version
no "wrong section" crap please as from my experience with supplementary files, this belongs here, not the apps section

its here for a very good reason...
at the time i was distributing it via the cmupdater and had recieved 40+ emails of people asking for it (plus some more recently)
noone ever looks in the apps section and nobody took notice in the main CM thread
also, its part of the roms before 4.2.10 so i put it here as a supliment to the roms
i report enough "wrong section"s to know what constitutes being here

Good post garok89 and this is the correct section, its a system app having to do with the cyanogen rom, therefore it needs 2 be here.. ive been looking for this and i would never have went to the apps forum to look. This is jus like when someone post browser.apk updates or contacts.apk updates etc

the way you did with good old fashioned stuff before the updater...
download it, put it on the root of your sd card
reboot in to recovery
flash it
reboot
its not an apk file as there are extra things in there that need to be shuvved in to /system/app etc to make it work

Launcher2.apk on CM 5.0.7

What can we do about force closing while trying to install Launcher2.apk on Cyanogens new eclair rom. It says we should be able to seperately install it bcuz he wasnt including it. does anybody kno of a fix or a workaround?

yea i pushed it via terminal. i got the 3d launcher2.apk from kingklick v1.9 but it kept force closing

It can be taken as development because im sure everyone knows its FC'ing, and maybe someone in this thread could fix it and it'd be a hell of a lot easier to find here than in the Q&A section for someone looking for a launcher2.apk for this rom.
Please do consider that your actions are taken in to account by others in this forum and more so by moderators.

The hardest part about this is that only certain questions get answered on the Q&A section, and the vast majority of them are questions that n00bs were too lazy to search for. It is a valid question and yes it probably should go on the Q&A, but I doubt that it would be answered in a short amount of time. I also tried pushing the Launcher2.apk to this rom and had FC's all over the place. I tried via root explorer, via astro, via console in recovery mode and even:
su
mount -o remount, rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
install /sdcard/Launcher2.apk /system/app/
reboot
(this was in terminal emulator)
This also was just FC's all over the place. So I have a feeling that it has to do with either libraries or some other issue with the build itself. Hope this helps, and I'm sorry that you had to resort to asking this question outside of the Q&A forum.

Has anyone tried the Launcher2.apk from cyanogens Nexus Build? Maybe it works it just doesn't meet cyanogen's requirements so he left it off. It probably should have all the framework and libs necessary for it already installed too.

cyanogen mod keyboard. i just finished editing the files to a cyan kb a while ago.im working on the rest of somthing else; so it might take me a min to get the update zip up or a tut. hope someone likes it. i think its sweet. ill post screens in a bit, im trying to get my cyan setup issues solved.
ATTN: for some reason ddms was making the blue look wrong. the true color you will see is the color of the little blue helper robot on the homescreen.

Yes was using it before i uploaded it; you can too. LOOK HERE. i dont ul anything i dont test myself. you need a root access file explorer like root explorer. sometimes that doesnt even work though. if pushing doesnt work, just flash my mod. i install while im putting everything together, thats why i know it works, cus i never have a problem that way. any problems and ill help you get it going.

yeah...i wasn't wanting the whole mod. i just thought your version of swype is more fitting than the red droid incredible version i'm currently using. i tried the download and an install from andexplorer. no go. i didn't bother with a push install. i can try again.

nope. didn't work again. could you please confirm that you've managed to install this, and how you did it? i've tried installing over my own version, and after removing my version and wiping all data and cache then installing, and i've tried pushing to /system/app. i even tried pushing to /data/app.
all fail. installation failed is the message i get.

bump. mag, can you remove uninstall the copy of swype you have try the upload you put here on your own phone? still no worky.
and, why is the apk so much bigger than stock swype? my red swype apk is like half the size

I've tried every way possible and get the same. Great looking keyboard mod, would just love a way to install it. I will keep my eye on this thread, hopefully a working apk will be posted soon. Love your work, and thanks for your dedication.

yeah, i'm pretty sure it's borked, jeff.

I figured it out, with root explorer, move the apk to system/app and rename input 2 and match the permissions. It will then be in language and keyboard as a default. Enjoy.

[APP] Google Talk from 2.3.4 extracted: NOT WORKING, Help Needed!

Hi everyone,
I downloaded the extracted .apk from latest Google Android release 2.3.4
The .apk is atached below.
I have had no success in installing the app on my 2.3.3 ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S. I tried pushing it to /system/app via Root Explorer, but once you try to install package it just doesn't install by saying "Aplication not installed".
Im no dev or whatsoever,so I would encourage anyone who could help to make it work on 2.3.3, Google stated in Google Mobile Blog that Google Talk with Video Chat will be for 2.3+ devices, so it "should" work on 2.3.3.
Any help is appreciated! Share your thoughts!

Try pushing it into system/app and then change permissions. Reboot and post result.

Attach the .odex file here as well. However, can you link me to the place you took the file from? I might need the entire framework to deodex it

I doubt that it will work until you upgrade the OS version to 2.3.4, it might be integrated with os changes.

That was my first thought too, but after downloading the entire update it looks like that might not be the case. There aren't a ton of changes in there, and only two updated system apps. One of which is gtalk, the other is an nfc app(for supported devices obviously). I haven't looked through anything else yet(I'm slacking off enough at work as it is), but it would appear the changes are minimal.
Edit: found a new libtalk_ini.so file in /system/lib/
That may help? Anybody have time to try?

The manifest for this apk says the target and minimum sdk version is 10, which is 2.3.3....so there's a good chance that after some deodexing and supporting files this will work no problemo

Generally, yes.

I got it to run, but I can't tell how to start a video chat. I pushed the apk, and odex file to the system/app directory and the jnk.so file to the system lib directory. Ran Talk and it opened fine...
HTC Hero with Cyanogen 7.0.2

Btw, its very possibly its simply running the standard install of Talk.apk instead of Talk2.apk... I'll try removing the Talk.apk...
-- Confirmed. I removed the Talk.apk from the system/app/ folder... lost my Talk icon in the launcher. Rebooting; maybe it will showup after reboot.
-- Ok, now I'm not completely convinced that you can get rid of Talk.apk when you push Talk2.apk. They both may have to be there.
