Hi All,
Currently I'm using Heechee's WM6.5 ROM Build 28014 and other than the eventual freezing now and again it's a good ROM.
However, one thing I don't like is that the Windows Icon is on the bottom of the screen, as in this pic:

Does anyone know how (other than flashing a new ROM) I can change it to this:
I believe you can't change the actual visual to the old style without rebuilding the rom with modifications.
Yea anything pass 21884 i think its 6.5.3 and the icons are on the bottom.

I know the feeling i like it the old way better also
Maybe you can try NightRaven 21857 ROM.
I've tested almost all 6.5 ROMs, end up using the stock now. I had two problems using 6.5.
Firstly, if I play around with the themes, I will lose the 6.5 touch friendly menu (the one with blue background over the menus), the only way to get it back is by hard reset the unit.
Secondly, sometimes or most of the time. The "Option" and "Shift" key indicator did not show up on the bottom bar. Hassle if you're in the midst of entering password which has alphanumeric characters.

I noticed the same problem with the menus but I personally prefer the old style anyways.
At least the NightRaven build is still a big improvement over stock ....
I Using a 6.5 21884 made by me. I had some issues:
The clock is overlapping the Task manager Menu when using another time format other than the U.S.
The Pictures panel don't show the images, this problem is intermittent and can be solved via hard reset
Unfortunately not yet ported to other languages, but still trying.
PJonDevelopment, do you dumped the ext portion that contains the original custom apps?

Sorry for taking so long to answer... take allok at the registry and add some space at the end of the time format. Just remember that this will affect all time display that can't be customized.

Ok, I was very curious to see if it would work on a wizard. It seems to, but it's kind of slow. I haven't really configured it though.

I have to figure out how to get the phone button to work.. but other than that.. it's great
It runs a LITTLE slow, not to bad though, and you can close it by tapping the battery icon.
So this will make your phone look like the iphone? does it work with WM5?
It made my phone look like the iphone, the good thing is its an application so u can close it out.. it should work with WM5.. I dont see why it wouldn't..

Its a little choppy... I dont overclock, so.. maybe it's better if you overclock.. the only choppy thing is when you select a program it takes a couple seconds for all the icons to disappear...

you can change that in the Config app, just click right soft button in the app, go to settings, then i believe pop up or something like that, the 3rd one down, then scroll the bar al lthe way to the left and hit set and you'll be good! Also, if you look in the orignal iphone theme thread or one of the threads that listed the numerous parts of the .cab, you can activate the phone by linking it to a cprog.exe file and it'll work fine especially for the dial pad not lining up correctly otherwise pretty nice, especially if overclocked

Do you have to setup the buttons manually or does it do it automatically? Plus what is the issue with the dialpad? and can u just use the regular interface if this one doesnt work?
Ok I just installed it to my storage card? what do i do know, nothing came up and i dont have anything in my programs folder to launch?

it is ok for me to install it to the storage card right? or does it have to be device memory? because after installing it, my phone is not loading after a soft reset its stuck at the splash screen.

ok i uninstalled it from my memory card and im gonna reinstall it to the device memory. Maybe that will work. cause when i installed it to the memory card a lot of the icons and shortcuts didnt work.
Alright most stuff is working, but when i click phone it doesnt come up? how can i fix this. i read the earlier post but dont get what it means. Also is there a way to make the 24hr clock to a 12hr clock?

your landscape is probably off because landscape is not supported.
The portrait is strange though.... have you soft reset your phone since install? (or since the problem occured)

GENE aka p3400 wm 6.1
1. check the resolution of the images and see if they're large enough for preview
2. remove the pictures from your phone, reset, and put them back. then reset again.
3. If these don't work.. i'll get back to you on this

but i already done step 1 & 2
the pictures are between 320*240 and 1024*768 so they are "large enough for preview"
i already formated the Storage Card and put every thing again from the computer
so get back to me plz...
I was gonna say if you weren't running an htc phone you may run into problems.....
but thats htc. the only other thing i can recomend is a reinstall. (or if you want you could remove the picture tab with m2dc.)
You may also want to check what version you are running. Manilla 2d is still in development and so it isn't perfect yet you can contact the main developer here though. He may be able to offer more help or even be able to inlcled a bug fix in the next version.

i already sent him 2 or 3 (can't remember) and did't respond and about my Manilla 2d version i think it was in his topic under title "UPDATE 15" i tried all other updates but either too big around 25 mb or too slow eat all ram
and mine fast don't eat much ram and size 15 mb. but nothing perfect the only bug the picture tab

This is the new Manila 2.5. It is very buggy so far (atleast on VGA).

Well my friend if you like shortcuts...may be you consider SPB mobile shell 3.01....
YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE IT THE WAY YOU WANT IT, PLACING THE SHORTCUTS THAT YOU NEED AND USE MOSTLY. THE CHOICES ARE ENDLESS...LOOK INTO IT , YOU WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO MANILLA...BELIEVE ME!!!

I've been using it and it's fantastic. You have the shortcuts (actually you scroll it, so instead of just 3 you have 9). Other details in this ROM make it a great experience. I don't feel like going back to 6.1 after using it, still needs some bugs to be fixed, but you can give it a try.
I use the shortcuts for:
1- Enabling Bluetooth (CicleBT)
2- Toggle Wifi On/Off
3- Gmail shortcut

You realise of course that getting this home screen involves first Hard SPL for your phone and then flashing the new ROM. Tom Codon has a 2.5 ROM that is not particularly buggy - I find it fine for day to day use you can find it at http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=274

I discovered a nice application : Showaco reSTART. It allows you to rearrange the start menu, add custom icons to folders or applications...
However, I can't make it work on my HD2. Anyone else has the same problem ? A component is missing... maybe it's not compatible with HTC Sense...

Haven't tried installing it on the HD, but there's better programs avaliable to do exactly the same things. Try JSPAProgramManager, JWMD IconChanger.
restart works fine with my Hd2. possibly you don't have .net compact framework 3.5? if this is the case then take a look at the "hints tips things you may not know" thread in the leo area.

What errors do you get?
Did you have a english or france rom? Because i had a dutch rom and it aint working on that rom because in english the startmenu was under windows\start menu and in the dutch rom under windows\startmenu (without the space). Just checked: Restart is starting on my hd2. I also have .net compact framework 3.5

You're the man, the start menu has to be created as 'Start Menu'.

hey guys, noticed that on my rom the call history tab icon or the icon that you see when you have selected the tab was being scaled to fit the right size so it was slightly distorted, checked the manilla files and it was supposed to be 256 by 256 but it was lower so anyways decided to make a slightly higher res call history tab icon, its not great but it suites my liking so if you guys wanna try it out then the cab is below.
PS my first cab file and first modification of anything windows mobile so its probably wrong or doesn't install to the right directory or something lol feedback would be appreciated so i know its right

Hi mate, might be worth mentioning which ROM you are using? I'm guessing Energy from your screenshots?
You should make it clear that the mod is for a specific ROM and will only change the existing Call History icon. It sounds like the two posters above may have been expecting the cab to give them a Facebook tab?

Making modifications to the tabs is VERY hit and miss tbh.

its not that actual call history tab, its just an icon replacement for the people who already have the call history tab on their rom

yeh your right im using energy rom latest gtx version. does it matter what version of sense or rom your using? i wasnt sure, i just assumed that aslong as you have the call history tab on your rom then this mod would work?
