Opera Mobile 10 Beta 3 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Don't know if anyone has posted this...
Opera Mobile 10 has launched beta 3, and it runs perfectly on HD2 - a lot smoother and faster than the built-in opera. Just no multi-touch tho, but the added smoothness more than makes up for it.
Just download it from the official site: http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/

I just tested a few minutes ago, and I agree , it rocks !

Yes it does anyone know a possible eta?
I am sold on this one
if I never bought a ppc software before this new opera9.5 will be the one. I have been waiting for it for how long now. I've used mini for a while now, but since the new pie came out I haven't even looked at mini4 (keep in mind it was one of the first apps I would install right after a rom change). pie is not all that but its much better now. waiting for this one.
opera 9.5 yeah!
the 9.5 beta is out for the desktop already. waiting for the mobile version now

Where is Fennec?

I thought they were going to release a Window Mobile version at the end of 2008. Hopfully they will release it soon.
I heard they were supposed to be releasing a limited beta. I was really looking forward to seeing what it was like. I kind of just forgot about it though.
FENNEC beta
I use it on Nokia n810 internet tablet. Recently updated again.
Now supports noscript extension, nothing more... and the fonts look crappy... I'm waiting for foxmarks to work, favourites and password synch would be perfect.
Opera has something similar but it's payant... grrrr
It is not bad anyway but no where as near to perfection as opera 9.5 on win mobile.
BTW the internet tablet is not that good browsing internet and touch screen can get better.
Now have touch hd 3.8 lcd.... it rocks and makes more things pleasant to do on a mobile phone
i am eager to try out fennec too. to bad i sold my n810 because i hated the browser har har. i guess i am going to have to wait longer
sorry double post. but check this out. i know someone has the skills to build it. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Bui...ructions#WM6.1_Emulator_Images_IMPORTANT_NOTE
In short, there will probably be a public version built with the Touch Pro in mind next week.

Windows Mobile
We are targeting a Milestone release for the first week of February, targeting the HTC touch pro.
We are two patches away from the meta goal of building from trunk. The tools changes have review from dougt, and are waiting for review from ted, who has promised review by the end of the week. NSPR changes are waiting for review from Nelson, who asked for and received a patch against NSPR trunk

people will love you if you can build it fast and release it. i think it is crazy that people have built it and not released it as a bin.
crap the touch pro i hope that when they release it it supports qvga devices.
yeah I want it for my xv6800.
well pm if you can get a cab. thanks in advance.

Disclaimer: have not checked it out.
oh snap thanks where did you find that? i am putting it on my ipaq emulator right now to see what we have.
well it on on the emulator when i try to launch it it does not launch.
actually it launched after quite a while but the picture was kinda distorted then it locked up.
that cabs 22 mb
yeah it is. any chance you have a vga device to test it on? or do you know of a windows mobile emulator that does vga?
edit yay it works on my tilt. too slow to be useable though.
kinda works on touch HD
I tried it this morning on my touch HD, it insyalled fine, launched fine (after quite a long time) but :
-It takes half of the screen
-It doesn't display the virtual keyboard so I can't enter an adress to test it ...
Wait and see the next version

Fennec (Mozilla's offering)

Hi Guys..
I have installed Fennec.. Mozilla's offering into the Win Mo browser market...
has anyone else tried it out at all? at first glance it seems quite good but unsure what pitfalls there are to using this.
Ta
i tried it, but its not finished yet. nearly nothing works and its very slow.
i'm waiting for it too, but mozilla is making verly little progress on that.
you should really try opera 10 beta 3, its the best browser for the hd2
at this time, i think!
No! Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 is the best browser! It's soooooo fast! Much faster than Opera Mobile (no matter what version)!
not tried a nightly of fennec for a while, been watching the progress of the maemo version though.
Maemeingast everyone is entitled to their opinion, personally I think mini is a pile of java poo

LOL
And why is that?
(Just interested in why some people don't like Opera Mini eventhough it's so fast and even has the same interface as Opera Mobile.)
had a look at the latest 1.1a1 nightlies, (both 1.9.2 and 1.9.3)
and it's starting pretty fast (after the first time it takes ages during setup).
Pretty responsive now with moving around etc now which i a huge improvement, but still can't get it to load a website!
its also not cleaning up properly i dont think.. for example it wont restart unless you soft reset

I'm not really struck on opera mobile 10, don't like java very much, and dislike intermediate server rendering of what I'm looking at
at least teh opera mobile has an option to turn "turbo" off
fwiw I love opera desktop. 10.50 is ace

Opera Mobile 10 slow...

Hey there,
I've just switched to the new opera and the browser itself is very very fast, but there seems to be one hell of a lag whenever you try and enter text anywhere...
Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix?
I have the same problem!!!
I have a HTC Diamond 2, If compare the speed of the version 9 vs version 10 its ... even on my mom's cel, the opera mini 5 it's amazing! (speed load, same 3g connection, both with HSDPA)
I hope someone can fix this weird problem...

Seek and ye shall find, it's in the market.
Try skyfire 2.0,i think is much better ,you can find in marked too...I use opera sometimes, but I preffer skyfire...
Skyfire is good but opera mobile has that better edge, guess we'll have to wait till we all get it to judge it!

sent from my unrooted x10, but fingers crossed for it!
What do you guys think about Dolphin browser?
I personally didn't like Opera on my Android. I found most webpages didn't load properly and it was difficult to enter forms etc.
However, it did run quite a bit faster than other browsers.
I have since switched to Dolphin, though a tad slower than Opera, it seems to be quite reliable at loading webpages properly. It also has a ton of cool features.
I've not tried Skyfire.
Cheers
Guys, he wasn't talking about Opera Mini... He was talking about Opera Mobile which is a more fuller browser for our phones.
Op, you said it was just announced. Do you have a link to the article about the announcement?
Oh my bad, didn't know there was a difference
http://www.androidcentral.com/opear-mobile-available-android-you-cant-have-it-yet
It wasn't just announced. Opera announced it quite some time back. However, currently it is available on to OEMs. They haven't made it public yet due to unknown complications.
I'm testing dolphin browser right now,not bad,but can't play flash either, anybody knows a browser that can play flash?
opera mobile, lol. skyfire can do some flash video, but not real flash
