Is it possible to have htc sense people app while running spb mobile shell? If i go to start menu and press htc people nothing happens. I don't really like the spb mobile shell contacts...now I see also that I have lost the htc people and htc calendar icon in the start menu, how can I get it back?
I tried getting the exact same thing working, but it seems that the contact-list in Manila is baked into the manila-exe file.. Which means that Manila needs to be running in order for it to work...
Really annoying, because I don't like the SPB one either..

Upgrading bug is biting again!(Thanks Whiterat). But does anyone else use Mobile Shell as well as the HTC Home screen?
Not much space left on today screen. does any one run the 2 together. Most new ROMs seem to incorporate HTC Home into them.
Reply to my self
In case any one is interested?
Bit the bug installed Wrcx2. Installed SPB Mobile Shell, Looks Ok removed some tabs, Weather and Phone, prefer menu system on MS easier to add shortcuts.
Enough room on Today screen for BatteryStatus, 2 lines and Gprs counter 1 line.
Deleted image off today screen went for plain Black background.
I use both and with some customixing they work great how do you like the wrcx2 are you having any issues ?
Works great on mine check the screeny to see how mine is laid out. I set PocketBreeze as my PIM and set the screen to go all the way to the bottom so when i activate mobile shell tabs they overlay the HTC home screen so its a nice clean look when the tabs are active.
Cingular 8125 G4 CID Locked
AT&T US
NBD V8.2
IPL/SPL 2.25.001
GSM 02.25.11
Wcrx 2 is the best IMO i've tried. Stable, memory great(don't need to S/R as often to release memory)
Recommend to all.
@evilito
ho do you have done it?
I can't place the Home and shell in this order!

under settings go to today and then move the items to the be in the order you want them to be in.
I recently got the Sprint Touch and I love it. The HTC Home Plugin is nice but I like the SPB Mobile Shell better. I would like to combine the two like I did in this Paint mockup attached (Ph34r my Paint Skills).
Is there anyway to do this?
Dear all,
Would anyone please list out all the alternatives to HTC Home
or tell me your favourite today screen "home launcher" plugin IF you don't like HTC Home, and why?
Many thanks and look forward for all your feedback
I don't dislike Home, but I've recently disabled it. The reason: it does nothing that Mobile Shell 2 cannot do better. I like Mobile Shell 2 a lot, and once I have it, having Home take a lot of my Today screen's real estate for basically the same features didn't make sense.
An alternative to Mobile Shell is Pointui. It's more radically different, very well done in some aspects, buggy in others. Check it up.
I have SPB Pocket Plus.
Tab one has the PocketClock that was posted hiere on the forum, underneath is SBP Phone Suite, underneath is TodayAgenda.
Tab two has my most used programs and Tab three has SBP Weather and a few status displays (RAM, storage, etc...)
there would also be Touch Commander, but its basically the same and I read its rather buggy. dont know if this is still the case.
I prefer htc home due the resources consumes of the rest. For a quicklink on programs I use Quickmenu, that provide reset and other capabilities.
I prefer rlToday just becoz I could write it clean and simple analog clock with 3 notifications. SMS Email and Missed Calls. I use battery status for tray icons. QuickMenu for complete navigation.
Use Pointui Home
SPB Mobile Shell + PhoneAlarm.
Hi all,
great site, I'm a newbie to all this and windows mobile, been reading and using different things from this forum, just interested to know if Spb shell works on the touch pro, might sound silly, but just installed on my sister in-laws tnty ii, it looks good, and because of the small issues with the touch flow, seems like a good thing to try, sorry if I've posted in the wrong place and the question is stupid, but just asking..... cheers . Love my touch pro, previously tried the Omnia well 3 of them......very poor
I haven't tried it on Touch Pro, but there should be no reason for it not to work..... after disabling TF3D of course

It works perfect. I use SPB shell since the first day on my TP.
salut
boogey
With a bit of tweaking, if it perfectly possible using both TF3D and Mobileshell on the TP. I did it myself, combining MS' application menus and TF3D Program Tabs without having to touch any of the manilla files, just by creating a couple of shortcuts.
yes works well
Many thanks all, I've installed it, and it works really well, in fact surprisingly well, looks good in black, now to find skins, and the dilemma in whether to use instead of the touch flo, again thanks

Interesting.
The best I could do (without touching any manilla files) is to add SPB Mobile shell as one of the Programs in the Progam Tab.
Still missing the ability to directly access the shell from the today screen (i.e. Phone Volume Setting, White/Black List, etc.)
i use it instrad of tf3d
So any SPB Mobile Shell themes that work for QVGA devices should work fine for SPB Mobile Shell on the Touch Pro (with it's VGA screen)?
Just making sure.. The Touch Pro (Fuze) should be at AT&T any day now.. If I know I can use SPB Mobile Shell to change themes it's a definite buy for me..
On a related note, is there an easy way to switch Mobile Shell themes without having to soft-boot or copy over old shell files? I really liked how in SPB Pocket Plus you could go to a 'theme' menu and choose the color theme you want.. I'd love to intall 4 or 5 and be able to switch back and forth on the fly..

I have SPB mobile shell that works with TF3D. What I've done is added a shortcut to the programs menu (in TF3d). When I press it I get a nice interface that enables me to choose which program to load.
WIndows mobile is almost completely hidden during regular use (almost).
Because of all the problems I'm having with my Pro might check out SPB. Where can I get it?

Maybe it's possible to use SecondToday to keep both TF3D and Spb Mobile Shell. I use SecondToday with PocketBreeze.
installed spb mobile shell on my htc tp... the interface works fine but somehow when i receive calls the caller id interface becomes laggy and sometimes inconsistent...
my take... so now i am using tf3d with the new s2u2 1.3 with caller id enabled and it works flawlessly ( so far)
I would like to run both HTC Sense and Spb Mobile Shell, but no matter what I do, they just do not work together or coexist. Before, I used to to run both application with MSToggler and SecondToday.
I have written to Spb and apparently they are working on other projects...
Is there any solution to this?
Thanks,
I run SPB 3.5, and indeed it doesn't work together. Sense is being inactivated as you install SPB. But you can access quite a few HTC apps still. Just by looking for them in the windows map on your device, you can also manually add shortcuts to them in SPB.
Examples of apps that do work:
- Albums
- Camera
- Video camera
- Footcam (of the footprints suite, though this doesn't work completely well...)
- Facebook
- Twitter
Apps that do not work:
- Footprints
- Audio manager
I just use different software for audio, footprints I won't use at least in the near future.

You mast install Today Switcher v.2 or Shell Switcher v1.0.5 (can found on 4PDA.ru)!!!
This is switchers for Sence and SPB Shell.
For some reason I do not want to go!
