Does anyone know exactly which version of bg4all to use with Manila version 2011.3626.
The background on my phone looks very bad quality, and I can't find a good bg4all to use.
I have one that works, but there are so many versions, it is getting very hard to keep track of them.
Anyone got any news if bg4all will be updated for 2011.3626, or which old one to use?

Ok. Thanks mate. Yeah, that's my problem. I like the backgrounds to be the same quality as stock, and they just aren't. It's a real shame
As most chefs remove the wallpapers, it means we need bg4all, which, although it's great, leaves us with an extra program installed, AND lower quality wallpapers. Defeats the purpose I think.

Dont work for me
When in u are in landscape there is a piece of black, i tried 800x800 but this doesnt work

I use the 2.07.531.6 test rom im only in landscape with Music and Photos&Videos tab. I tried 20 different cabs but no luck so far
The problem is always i get a piece of black, even when using larger size pics...
The black bar must have something to do with the newest version of Manila. As I never had this problem before.
I doubt it's anything to do with the size of the wallpaper either. As that should just automatically rotate based on the background.

Is the same on my device. As i don't use landscape often i am not really bothered by it. Though i hope there will be a solution one day...

had the same problem. solution is easy...
search for BG4all_Manilla.2.5.19222911.cab, install it, tada!
I didn't use it at first for obvious reason (the name ), but it works perfectly!!

I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5499189&postcount=47 but still not working for me in landscape at the Music tab. The piece of black is smaller but still there

Because the standard calculator skin from htc is not really good looking, I made this skin for it. It's a pretty dark skin in combination with dark red.
hope you like it
I've uploaded two new zips for each version of calculator.
This skin is now completely compatible with version 1.0 and 1.1 of the htc calculator.
Guide:
Just install the cab with you're version number on your device and you're ready to go. (no soft reset needed)
When you don't like it just uninstall the cab and give you're device a soft reset. and windows will do the rest
Please leave a comment whether you like it or not
ps. the attached pictures don't look really sharp, but when installed the buttons look very good.

Okay I think that the version is the problem, because I use version 1.1. maybe If you can upload the original calculator .bmp files out of your windows folder I can have a closer look. They are named under: Calc_...
edit: I forgot only one thing, there is also one .png file I need: calc_lcdres_p

I only don't understand why the landscape mode doesn't work. Can someone upload a screen shot from the landscape mode with my skin installed?? Would be great

Which version of calculator are you using?? maybe you are using a different version then 1.0 or 1.1
You can see this by clicking the "about" button in the calculator.
i dont have an about setting in my calculator. it is the standard one that comes with the device. is that the problem? do i need to install another version?

Okay that's strange. There should be a softkey named: "about" in the lower right corner of the screen when you startup the calculator.
When there is no button I'm affraid I can't help you
oh well never mind. yours does look very nice though, shame i cant try it out. i might try it next time i do a hard reset, it'll probably work then. i do tend to install all sorts of rubbish on my machine and then have to rebuild it every now and then.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this - it's a great skin you've come up with, so would be good to get it working! Here are screenshots with v1.0 cab installed, with my v1.0 HTC calc.
1st pic show portrait calc with no numbers entered.
2nd pic shows display with "123456789" entered.
3rd pic shows landscape.
Essentially the same results I get if I use the v1.1 cab as well.

So did i for some time, but for some reason it dont work anymore.
Only installed the last HTC SMS update (for Leo) and puff...now i can change everything eccept those icons

But try again! It seems impossible!
Hmm, tryed many times and even several hardresets and updating from scratch...now i cant use cfc_gui at all, keeps on saying Failure with Manila.exe. Also when i turn power on, so its time to stop But ok, dont think its that update anymore.
A bit sad, i was really enjoing making stuff...

Very strange! But what rom are you?
1.48.403.1 Danish version and manila 2.5.19211619...and ive been using max manila 2.7.
Maybe its a problem with me pc?
I can still change everything with cfc, just not the slider icons...
Or maybe i should hand over those icons to someone with brains, so they could make a cab for me.

The fact is that I do not know max manila. You can try to uninstall max manila , install my cab and reinstall maxmanila after several soft reset.
Tryed your cab the other day, works fine with Max M

I could do that, but then someone else would want it the other way. I'm afraid I can't please everyone. I've made it this way so that it works the same as default rotation on the phone.
I'm not at home this weekend, so won't be making any changes, but I suppose I could create a registry entry that allows you to say whether you want left or right handed.
Check back on Monday or Tuesday

There's now 3 versions - left rotate, right rotate, and upside-down (for the 1 person I've seen asking for this )

isnt working for me. Just giving a black screen when rotating. I unzipped on the phone and copied the two files to the windows folder. reset the phone and nothing. it is rotating but just giving me a black screen in the middle of the top and bottom bars.
Any sugestions?

Where are you doing it? It doesn't want to work on manila, but is fine with other applications.

For some (unknown) reason, manila doesn't seem to like being forced into landscape. The upside-down version works fine, but not the landscape versions.
I'll have to do some testing and see if there's anything that can be done, but it doesn't look promising right now.
Edit:
I've had a play and it seems that Manila simply doesn't like landscape, unless it does it itself (photos & videos, music tabs etc..)

Some people just want a cab that makes it possible, but I personally like HDWall.

I don't know what to say mate. It's always worked for me. Perhaps ask on the HDWall thread and see if they can help there.
I've used this on the last 2 devices I've had, so there's obviously some reason why it's not working for you.
I know what I did wrong, I forgot to install Co0kiemonsters patch. Working great now, just the music tab got bit weird but I can live with that.

That's something you do in HDWall I believe.
I uploaded them for you, put them in \Windows. Save the old ones somewhere so you can go back if something goes wrong.

The only thing (I think) you can do is to remove the thing so the GPS isn't tracking where your location is. I got one with my city manually added and a one called "my place" which is not showing weather at all, I love it.
I'm still tweaking these (landscape mode is a wreck) and I have zero idea how to upload these in an easily manageable way.
Let me know if you're interested in more or have any suggestions.
If people actually want the folders to add to their BW data folder while I work out the kinks, let me know and I'll post them.

they look nice, but i think it would be better if they were all one color like the silver ones
I've already tried the single-color thing, it doesn't really look good on anything other than grey/silver.
I'll have a ton more colors as I work the kinks out.
This one's a bit better, imo.

I think I'm done tweaking, now I have no idea how to package it as a "skin" (settings and all...)

Argh, so this is turning out to be a nightmare simply because of Beautiful Widgets itself.
I've created these to look great with MY settings, but any time I change anything it just looks wrong. This widget is definitely not up to the task.
I use Apex with a grid of 5x4 and use the 4x2 Super Clock widget, and it looks great, BUT, if I use the standard 4x4 it stretches and looks bad. If I change the margins, it stretches and looks bad. If I look at it the wrong way, it stretches and looks bad. I also can't embed any of the clock's settings (text color, alphas, etc) into the skins, so color options are basically nil.
Does anyone know of a skinnable clock widget that has a 100% static size no matter what home settings you use?
