Replacement Calendar App Apks - Android Apps and Games

I have looked around for the past 2 weeks for a calendar app apk to replace the original Google Calendar because I do not have data and cannot associate my phone with a Google account. I would like to get a new calendar app apk that i can actually use. Also if this helps, I have the HTC Vogue running Plemen's Donut norootfs build.
Thanks in advance.

Sense comes with a calendar doesn't it?
There's also a nice widget called Smooth Calendar that allows you to show 3 events on the home screen in a 4x1, which is more useful than the Sense widget.

I have looked at the Sense calendar before and would like to get that, but Jamezelle's sense hero build for the vogue does not have a file explorer which i would like to have unless there is a way to install apks through terminal

You can just download a file explorer from the Market. Is that what you're looking for? I'm a little confused.

The problem is that I do not have data and i can't get my computer (Windows XP Pro) to access my phone.

Use the phone's wifi then. If you can't get to the market I don't know what else there is.

That is another problem: the HTC Vogue does not WiFi.

if you have a vogue, just get a card reader that is compatible with your card (preferably usb), when the card info loads up, put the apk in the android apps folder

where can I download the Sense Calendar?
I'm on a vogue just like KralHiPolymer's

CoPilot Navigation transfer?

Is it possible to transfer the copilot navigation app from my hero to the nexus?
I know on WM devices all you have to do is select Deactivate on the original device then load up you SW, launch and use you login credentials on the new device and you should be activated on the new device. I notice, I had to activate twice. Once for the base application and a second time for the traffic add-on.
thanks, i'll see if there a deactivate option on the hero.
don't think I got a cd to install though, it was preloaded on the hero (bought it off some ebayer's upgrade), so maybe file transfer will work. But 'm guessing that won't install the app (unless an installation file is included), and in the app market you can't get the copilot app without map files, just a fully paid app.

You should contact ALK and see if you can even transfer. Not sure how it works when you have obtained it bundled with your device.
i went from the g1 to nexus....i performed a backup within copilot central with the g1, then restored to the nexus

[Q] HTC Twitter

Hi all,
Ive read most posts regarding Twitter issues and think I have a new one.
Yesterday my Twitter crashed (and restarted sense) while updating, now it does not even load up through the sense tab. Ive checked in the Windows dir and some of files are there (png, qtc), in window\htc the twitter folder is empty, and also the icon has disappeared from the start menu. I assume that the program has deleted itself from my hd2 in the process. Now for my questions:
Does anyone have the program files for htc twitter (I understand that there is no CAB) that I could copy back into my windows or prog files dir?
Is there any other way to get it back without doing a hard-reset?
If none of the above work can anyone recommend a prog better than either motweets or Pocketwit.
Cheers for any help on this,
FlYiN<*}}}><
You could also hard reset but that is not what you want to hear, what rom are you running? no doubt that will be needed for the right files

[FUNCTIONAL][CM7] HONEYCOMB Music Player w/[CLOUD SYNC] w/ Correct Instructions-eMaN

ACTUALLY FUNCTIONAL. Thanks to lws803 for OWNER OF ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS + me for instruction edits to make it work. NOTHANKS to KarateExplosion6 for giving NO CREDIT to us and copying thread exactly. His isn't as functional
These instructions work for both CDMA HERO from SPRINT and the HTC DROID ERIS from VERIZON
INSTRUCTIONS
1. FIRST BEFORE ANYTHING make sure you make this path/folder on your sdcard /media/Music and place all your music there or music will NOT sync. Delete Your original music app if running a non-Sense based rom.
1.5. Download the music apk here. -----> http://www.mediafire.com/?j73zh5ld7bpcbqn
2. Open the apk using Root Explorer from your phone or from your computer with winrar
3. Open the lib folder and the 'armeabi-v7a' folder and extract 'libjumper.so' to root of sdcard. If on computer put it to your desktop
4. If you used a computer connect your phone to your computer and copy the 'libjumper.so' and the music.apk file to the root of your sd card
5. Using root explorer, go to your sd card and copy the 'libjumper.so' file and paste it in your phone system/lib
6. rename your honeycomb music apk into 'Music.apk' and make sure its in the root of your sdcard
7. close root explorer and go to terminal emulator(available on Market)
8.then type

[enter]
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
[enter]
cp /sdcard/Music.apk /system/app

10. select permissions and make sure the check boxes have a inverted (upside down) L shaped pattern
11. close your root explorer and reboot your phone
12. You should see a bown coloured music icon on your phone's app list enjoy!
13. eMaN edit: To initiate sync go to Setting, Accounts & Sync , click on your google account and there will be options you can check and check music
14. Go to your apps and open Jumpertest app(has the music icon) then click on acounts tab, choose your gmail account, next go to the tab that has start peer, stop peer, and import media.
15. (HOW CLOUD WORKS) Ok this is the important step to initiate sync. Once following step 14 on that tab click start peer and wait 5 seconds. Next click import media and wait 5 seconds and the sync should initiate and BOOM there you have it sync may take several hours if you have a lot of music.
Also make sure in the music app u hit menu/library something/ and only stream
Make sure you tell your buddies and pals about this.
I'll try this soon, I actually wanted this for a week or so.
Looks like I'll need to nandroid first though.
EDIT: Wait, it really needs Root Explorer? Darn, I guess I finally have to break down and get it.

IMHO, root explorer is one if those apps that no rooted device should be without. Along with titanium backup. Both are excellent.

Sadly I don't have either of those apps.

im trying this now. how do I know if its syncing?
also, will i not be able to access the music files on my sd?
I couldnt find them in my music app.
[EDIT] Nevermind, I think ive got it syncing now.
I followed the steps, synced a couple of songs, deleted them from my sdcard, after that they still showed up when i pressed "only streamed" but when i try to play them it "buffers" for 2 seconds and then says "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file." All files are mp3s.
I have no idea why but it works for me using an Eris and this one Guy with a sprint phone. Its 5am ill look into it laterz
I tried this on CSouth Hero and it installed fine and I believe it is syncing as we speak.
Question: Does it have to completely complete syncing before music begins to show up? I'll found out soon anyways since I didn't have much music on here.
Installed fine, synced well. Thanks!!!
Guys, it's NOT syncing in the sense that it is actually uploading music to the cloud at this time. Anyone telling you different is lying. It is simulating syncing, but not actually doing it; it is syncing file indexes...that's why the titles appear even if you remove the sd card but get the error saying "cannot play this type of file".
REPEAT: it is NOT uploading to cloud yet. Don't believe anyone who says they've got it working. It's a load.
Obv., it's nigh and will be happening soon. But not yet.
I'm finding step 10 a little confusing.
Mind clearing that up a bit?
EDIT: Never mind, got it to work. Thanks.
Hello,
You may want to make it clear to all users that the permissions for both Music.apk and libjumper.so need to be set to R,W,-,R,-,-,R,-,-. Also all steps can be completed using Root Explorer without the need to use Terminal Emulator. I seemed to have the same results doing it both ways. This is a great music program but since it was designed for a tablet there seems to be issues playing music in portrait mode at least with my phone running 2.3.3. I do have a tablet but it is only running 2.1, has there been a mod released to allow this application to run in 2.1?
Cheers

Works for me on aospCmod bro..lol..i say give her a whirl cuz its fairly nice
Does anyone have VIDEO proof? Last time I tried this, I wasted a whole day flashing a normal cm7 (no apps2ext) copying files to another sdcard since my card I use for my Nexus is about full, and tried to sync all weekend... Not doing that again for failure.

I have tried installing several times now trying to eliminate any variables. every time I start the app it works great unless I rotate the phone 90 degrees in album view. I can guess just don't do that but it has me baffled.

HTC Info Logger/Security Q

For some reason the previous thread was closed and I'm not sure what to delete from my phone since I don't seem to have the htclogger.apk file in my apps folder.
I used root explorer to search for "logger" and get these results:
/data/data/com.htc.loggers
/data/data/com.htc.loggers/bin/htclogger
/data/data/com.htc.loggers/bin/htcloggerd
/system/lib/libhtc_logger.so
Delete 'em all? Rename them?
Thanks!
(took me two searches to find them, the first time I just searched in my app folder for a logger app, it doesn't exist there. I had to do the search from the regular default start screen of Root Explorer).
Oh, I'm running DroidTh3ory's ShiftS3ns3 v 1.5x, which is android version 2.3.4 and Sense version 2.1.
I'm certain I was on 1.4 and upgraded to 1.5x, I think prior to that I may have been on AOSP based ROMs - I was flashing quite a bit for a while there, but this ShiftS3ns3 is my DD for now (his forums are still down).
Any suggestions on what to do w/those files is GREATLY appreciated.
Tx
People are pretty sloppy with capitalization, which is significant in Linux. It's /system/app/HtcLoggers.apk

If I look in that folder I have listed in alphabetical order:
HtcLockScreen.apk
-then-
htcmailwidgets.apk
Reasonable thought would be that if I had HtcLoggers.apk it would land right in the middle of those two listings in the /app folder, correct?
For whatever reason, I don't think I have it.
Should I try another app other than rootexplorer? I haven't been able to ask my ROMs developer about it (I'm not on twitter and I'm waiting for his site to come back up).
I have used RootExplorer to remove HtcLoggers.apk so the file manager does show it so it would be reasonably certain that if you're not seeing it, it's not there.
I've successfully removed the apk and com.htc.loggers w/o any problem. Can't say about /system/lib/libhtc_logger.so.
if you don't want to bother manually scanning/deleting stuff, you can try the app AntTek App Manager. it's like Titanium Backup(but free) and works well.
Cant we just freeze the apk instead of uninstalling?

[Q] Modify Stock Lockscreen

Hey all, been a reader for a couple months now, first time poster.
I am running Supercharged 5.2 on the Atrix 2 (MB865)
Replacing the lockscreen with an App isn't an option for me if I want to keep my work email on the phone.
I'm wondering if there is any way to make modifications to the lockscreen? I love the changes that were made for Supercharged, but I would like to take it a step further, but don't know where to start.
If possible, I would love to be able to convince the phone that something such as widgetlocker was the built-in lockscreen.
Anyone have any ideas? Or a starting direction?
This is probably not what you are looking for but i use widgetlocker and it works good for me if i give it superuser permissions.

You going to have to break apart the framework-res.apk and add a lock screen image (i think the zz_moto_lockscreen_sd_door.png file is missing from SCV5), possibly edit the related xml file, then put it back together and push it to your phone with adb... i've never done it but i'm sure with some proper searching and researching, you could pull it off..
the lockscreen image should be in /system/framework/framework-res.apk --> open the apk --> framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi
Attached is the stock lock screen, if you can manage to slip it in there...without bricking your phone
Did you figure it out yet? I managed to swap the lockscreen on the atrixblaze rom to the stock lockscreen (just to see if i could).. and it was pretty simple.
You need an apk tool like APK Manager or the MultiTool (i did it with APK Manager, since i read that there may be some issues with the MultiTool), then copy to your computer, and using APK Manager "extract zip" the framework-res.apk, swap out the lockscreen image file, and re-zip the apk with the APK Manager (it gets more complicated if you're editing xml files, but for images only this works well). Copy the modified framework-res.apk to your sd card, then using root explorer, copy it to your /system folder (you need to copy it here before moving it to the framework folder so you can change the permissions). Change the permissions to chmod 644 (like shown in the 3rd attached pic), then MOVE (do not copy) to the framework folder. It will ask you if you want to overwrite - say yes. Reboot. And done.
But, I didn't see a lockscreen file in SCV5, so this may not work for you at all. You could try to add it and hope that everything that references that image is still intact in the xml files..
NOTE: Please install the CWM on Boot before you try swapping your framework-res.apk, it can save you a lot of trouble if something goes wrong
Thank you for the suggestions. I actually haven't been able to get the CWM on boot to work with SCV5.2.
I ended up finding a different way around. When it comes right down to it I hate the stock lockscreen. If I wanted to be stuck with a simple slide to unlock, I would just go back to the iPhone.
Was frustrating the hell out of me that my work email could place that kind of restriction on me.
So I hunted, and found an email app that used the webDav interface instead of directly accessing the Exchange Server, thus no device admin.
Maildroid was what worked for me with Exchange 2010.
Then to get the calendar on my phone, I used the Google Calendar Sync on my work computer, so no more need for device admin for any of it.
Got WidgetLocker and loving it.

Ahhhh. Yea, I hooked up to my work email at one time and it made me put on a pin or screen lock. So, I uninstalled it - don't really need my work email on my phone - or i can just check it through the web.
Glad you found a work-around though.. this may help some others with a similar issue.
Yeah, I hunted for days to try to find some form of work around. Most of the email apps either only support exchange 2007 or have the same device admin forced settings.
Isn't there a "Corporate Sync" somewhere for Accounts that will sync your exchange email without requiring the Security? I could have swore I saw it somewhere.....
I had seen a patch to the built in email app, but I couldn't get it to work with the blur crapola. I would like to try cyanogen, but until we get an unlocked bootloader or Jim and lfaber get safestrap working, guess I'm stuck.
Thanks for the responses. Nice to finally join a community that's all about helping and doesn't tolerate trolls.
