Can devs please update their APN lists so the primary "Vodafone NZ" APN has an "APN type" of:
default, supl
(as in screenshot below)
This is what is included in the "stock" APN's of a phone bought from Vodafone NZ. At present, no type is set in the APN list with modded ROMs and some functions don't work without it.
Without this it isn't possible to send or receive pics attached to txt messages. The "Vodafone-MMS" APN also included is correct and no change is required.
Thank you!

You can find the Apn list here and put the one that matches.

Thanks. Having looked at the Vodafone NZ support web site it becomes clear the APNs vary depending on the phone make / model...so I've added HTC Magic versions of the general APN info there. What they had was very basic and correct, just not enough detail to make config easy, or for an HTC Magic phone to work properly.

I was able to get the phone working for calls and Text messages but not working with MMS messages. So i need to either find a solution to make it work with its current Rom or find a rom to upgrade it to. The phones main settings all seem to be Chinese or Asian. I have found some info, that it could be a knock off of a knock off Magic.. However i can not confirm it i could use some help confirming which phone this is a knock off of. so i can do some rom work to it.. ty.

Is it a G2? What is the model # under the battery?
only thing i found was model g2 on it... and i have found settings to setup the sms but the mms requires a ip addy that i always get a wrong ip on... even tho i have found the tmobile ip setting.
thats my main issue is getting mms to work otherwise i dont really need a new rom
Sciphone G2- probably a magic nock off
thats what it is but xcant find any thing to help me out. main thing is i might have to change the rom to a us based one to get mms working. but need to know what might work so i head in the right direction.
when i open a new text message, i start to type the name of the contact i want to send a message to - but no contacts are avaliable to select.
i now have to add a contact manually.
how to get auto add contact when i start to type their name?
cheers!
Rn
On the stock messaging app I don't think this is possible. You have to create a contact first, or just enter the phone number into the address field.
Not sure about the messaging apps for HTC sense and other UIs. They may allow you to create a contact from within the app.
Q.
Are you using the stock keyboard?
I had the exact same issue when using fingerkeyboard and swype.
Had a few ROMs (Older admittedly) that didn't support this too but that's beyond my comprehension i'm sorry.
hi, sorry for not getting back to you untill now
(i forgot about this thread lol)
as you can see i am using EzInput v2.5
by typing R, it should display a list of all contacts starting with R. (in a drop-down menu where R is)

I remember a while back when people were asking how to see their Android phones name in their routers "Active" list, instead of something like this- android_75653hj3838746. It drove me nuts as well. Well, I was cruising our general section here and decided to read this post- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577877 . I have already been planning to set my phones ip to static, and I have DD-WRT (Although I imagine it works the same on any router) so I went at it.
Once in the services tab, I added an entry to the static IP list. Put in my mac address, ip and then set the hostname to "Skyrocket". Now, in my active list it shows up as "Skyrocket" instead of the generic based identification name (android_blablablabla). I'll be doing this with all my droids now, so I can tell them apart without having to remember which mac addy is which. Hope someone finds this useful. IT was handy for me, considering you cant change the hostname of the Android device from the phone. I know it is not changing the actual hostname on the device, just in the router. But, thats all I wanted.

Hi everyone,
I've got a weird problem with my Nexus 5.
A couple days ago I flash Android L preview, everything was Ok. Yesterday I wanna go back to Paranoid Android (my rom), so I wipe my phone, I had a couple of problems, but I resolve all of them. And everything was ok.
In the evening I change my favorite network type to 2G, after that my N5 wasn't to join my carrier network.
This morning I flash the factory image that I grab from Google website. That change nothing...
I don't know what to do...
Here is informations displayed in fastboot :

Here is the "Network Settings" menu :
The "Preferred network type" selector (I never see one like that before) :
Thanks for your help, if you need more information ask (I know adb and fastboot).
AMDG2
From your screenshots it looks like the preferred network type was set to something that is not one of the default options. That selector in your last screenshot is the stock Android selector. Just choose LTE and it should get you connected again.
