Uploaded a German ROM Kitchen for WM5... just found it on my PC and don’t need it anymore cos I sold my Himalaya... there is no support by me related to the Himalaya device or this rom ... have fun

For the moment I haven't found a french 6.1 rom that suits my needs.
So I was wondering about starting cooking. But in fact there are WWE very good roms and I was wondering if it is possible to translate a ROM that way
1. extract the OEM_Lang_*** folder from the official HTC french ROM
2. extract a WWE ROM (of course with the authorization of the cooker !)
3. replace the OEM_Lang folder
4. re-cook the ROM & flash

PS : I found the thread dealing with translating with emulator files but for now there are no localized emulator files for wm 6.1

by now i don't know... only wondering if it is possible !
maybe with kaiser kitchen or install then dump a french rom...

i'm no expert being that i only got in the kitchen a month ago, but from what i can see your steps make sense. i'm not one hundred percent sure that it will work but i would say try it, dump the WWE rom, so long as you are not releasing it as a new rom the chef will have no problem, and then do as you said. replace OEM_lang_*** with the folder from your french ROM. whether it works or not post the results, i kinda want to see what happens. you might also be able to ask the chef of the WWE rom that you want to use if he knows how to do it.
you also need to replace the *.mui in the sys folder.

Your problems are:
1. you must looking for a chef that shares with you own cook (very very difficult)
2. you must looking for packages (very difficult)
3. you have to change also *.mui in \Sys dir (as have told you xtreme_g)
4. you have to modify also RGU in some \OEM dir
Then you can rebuild and cook. You can use the ervius+bepe's package tool.

...no, you must work with the OEM folder too
Pratically you need to change all MUI files (0409=eng) with french (040c), but its not a good metod for me and its difficult to find a "dumpable" not-official ROM... try to dump Tom codon's Pharos ROM and tell me what happens...
The best way for the SYS folder is to port it from another device... there is a great tool called g'reloc for relocation modules in according to your device, so you can dump a wm6.1 official french ROM from Diamond and port the SYS folder to your Pharos
For OEM folder you need to dump your original ROM
I suggest you to read carefully some tutorial on how to port SYS folder and how to dump your original ROM

i use the funktion to integrated the cab in my rom.
for exampel:
the Volumen control
but how to change the reg entry so, that theopal contraol starts, when i press the volumen control???
or how to check whether it worked??
is ther a software that virtualised a pda???

Search Around, I promise you there a tutorials for the Kaiser Kitchen. Alex made a good Kitchen. Mbarvian has done a great job creating Chef Friendly Threads.

I need a 21056 build! I have no idea how to make ROMS and I've been trusting you guys lately with 6.5
6.5 is too glitchy and slow for me but the 21056 build seems like to be the best of the best for 6.1. Can anyone upload it?

I have build a wm6.1 21109 rom，but only support chinese，you can download the kitchen and add the english Language Resources in it then build a english rom.
