I'm looking for an app that will shut off the phone only. I want to be able to turn the phone off, and have all calls sent to VM, while still recieving texts and keeping my data connection on.
Does this exist?
turning off sound would do kinda that
don't believe there are other ways of cause if you don't want
to see when you recieve sms's and calls you have to turn off the notifications
in settings

Hi,
I'm using HTC Sensation, and can't seem to receive incoming calls when 2G data connection is active. Same goes for SMS messages. As soon as the "E" sign goes blank or if I disable mobile data, the calls start coming through.
I've tested this out with SIMs from other networks as well. Problem persists with them as well.
A little research shows DDTM (whatever that is) needs to be disabled. HTC Sensation has no such setting, the closes it comes to is "Enable always on mobile data" which is disabled on my phone - still having this problem.
After a little while of continuous mobile data use, the phone gets hot (as expected) and the battery starts to drain real fast.
Aren't incoming calls supposed to interrupt mobile data connection to host calls?
No, with edge you can't have data & calls at the same time. People should automatically go to voicemail if you have an active data connection (actually pulling down/sending data).
As far as I know, a call has never interrupted my data while on edge, back before 3G

I don't think that's true. I had Hero before this one and data used to be on all the time, it always got interrupted in the event of an incoming call. Hell that's the default behavior on any cell phone from Nokia to Samsung. Even Galaxy S 2 does it!
Could it have to do anything with permissions?
Was wondering, is this an application-related thing? Specifically if an app doesn't have the "Read phone state and identity" permission, and uses mobile data, it won't interrupt itself when an incoming phone call comes in.
Just an idea.

it may have been connected but not sending/receiving. If you're sending/receiving data (active connection) at the time that a call comes through, then it will get bounced to voicemail.
Samsung Galaxy S7 on Tmobile SM-G930T android version 6.0.1
I can make outgoing calls but I cannot receive any calls, they go straight to voicemail
If I restart my phone I can receive calls for a while but then after being locked for a bit the calls next come through. I wake the phone up and even then the call still wont come through until i restart it again.
Anyone know why this happens, it sure hasnt always happened?
No one has any tips on this?
I turned wifi calling on and turned off location and it works every time now.
Not sure why. I hate wifi calling and id like to keep my location on but whatever, i need to receive calls.
I found problem using "Do Not Disturb", custom settings staying in effect even when turned off! Change to "Accept All Calls" and you will be able to receive callers not in your contact list. BUG??

Hello,
I got a Gear s2 and i love it but recently its starting to act bizarre. Randomly when people call me it goes straight to voicemail. It doesn't even give me a notification on my phone that i got a miss call. Sometimes it goes straight to my gear s2 and shows nothing on my phone and sometimes the opposite. I dont know whats wrong with it. has other people been having the same issue? My gear s2 is the 3g version, ATT, and i do have number sync on! All help is appreciated !
Thank you
On the watch, under connections If I turn mobile networks from automatic to always on, the mobile data selection in the same menu branch usually goes green. If not turn it on manually and then things start working. However, If I reject a call using the watch it hangs up on the caller without voicemail. Letting the call ring until it automatically goes to voicemail works. Turning off the Bluetooth also makes things work without the above change, but I think that uses more power and for sure more mobile data from att.
Hi everyone. Got a weird one here. If I'm actively in a phone call, my T-Mobile s7 will not notify me of texts. There's no sound or vibration while I'm on a call. I checked the phone apps settings and call alerts is set to on. I also completely wiped and it didn't work. I've tried the Google SMS app and hangouts SMS and still doesn't work.
Any good ideas?
Tried another wipe and even safe mode.
My phone updated 5 days ago to Android 11.
Its a stock rom, not rooted yet.
Ever since then my phone will not allow any calls to get through,
The phone (sometimes) rings once and the caller gets put through to answer phone.
I then get a notification to state its a missed call.
its as if its stuck in DND.
So far i have missed 17 calls.
DND is off,
I have reset the cache,
Booted in to safe mode and it still does the same,
Callers in favorites do not get though,
Callers calling back twice straight away dont get through,
All apps are updated as of this morning as well and the issue is still happening.
I have a scheduled DND on from 06:00 to 13:00 (night worker) and 22:00 to 06:00 when im not on nights,
This has worked flawlessly since i have had the phone, and also on previous phones. I also turn DND on and off as and when required.
Now the issue is it appears to be stuck in DND, by that i mean EVERY call goes straight to voice mail.
DND shown as being off, in the pull down menu and the main settings menu.
Manually DND on - 1 ring straight to voicemail Manually DND off - 1 ring straight to voicemail
Auto DND exactly the same.
I only noticed this as i was waiting for a few important calls, and when i checked the phone saw a load of missed calls.
Now i have reset the phone, tried this in various different locations so its not signal strength related,
tried it with wifi calling on and off as well.
I've also checked the following as well.
Block unknown / private calls is off.
Caller ID/spam is off.
All call alerts are on. I have multiple ringtones assigned.
Auto answer is off. wifi calling is currently on. (still issues when not connected to wifi)
Call forwarding is off
call barring is off
Call waiting is on.
Fixed dialling is off.
Phone version is 12.1.02.12
Call version is 12.0.01.30
Latest versions are installed.
Phone is correct default app.
Any one else have the same issues and managed to fix it? any ideas?
Dont want to do a full reset yet as i dont have access to back up everything.
Cheers
Mac,
