Hey guys. im incredibly new to android and am having a few concerns about how to root my phone.
Here's the thing. I know it voids the warranty, but since its a limited edition, i dont have one anyway. all i have to protect it is Asurion insurance which will probably give me a regular 32B mytouch....
Even though i was told by the idiot sales rep that this fender version was the same as the other MyTouches, just with "more speed", i noticed that this is actually a 32A phone with these numbers:
PVT 32S Ship S-ON G
HBOOT- 1.33.0013 SAPP31000
CPLD-13
RADIO-2.22.23.02
I am very confused on how to root this phone and would really appreciate some advise/tutorials on how to get a rom on this phone. I tried reading the tutorial in the sticky, but got confused on the first paragraph.....
As of today there is no gain in rooting the fender check back n a few weeks when the mytouch 1.2 comes out

Since you asked how to get a rom on the phone, you're new and you got confused in the first paragraph... I don't think you'll be able to help yet! Except perhaps test things which could possibly lead to risky things! But even then.. I don't think they would wanna spoonfeed you with instructions lol =)
You should just take the time and learn about the basics for now in my opinion.

What rom did you load on when You rooted it? Because this is the link to the "stock" fender rom on cursordroid's post.

I'm currently running that what I'm looking for is the unrooted stock image files there is no benefit of having this phone rooted anyway.

just sell it rooted so the buyer wont have to go through the trouble; how much you selling it for anyway?
Im sorry buddy your screwed. I guess thats another specfic detail I have to add to the fender rooting thread. Once you root, That image is gone. Unless you can find one on the internet and convert it, you will not get it back. Problem is, for us to get recovery to be able to make a back up, we have to wipe the phone clean as is. So once you downgrade its gone.
I think I may just take the fender tut down. its ridiculous at how many people do it, when I have said there is no point, and then ask somethign liek this later.
It can still get OTA updates (over the air) from Tmobile, so just wait about a month and 2.1 will be on there all on its own.
I actually rooted it without your thread. I found your thread when i ran into the no touch problem. I used cursors ROM. I've been working with android phones/ROMs since the G1 came out. I was working on compiling a kernel for the phone because i actually like it(never had a mytouch b4) but now that i N1 i have no use for it and i want to sell it. I guess i'll just have to make a ROM based off one of the 32A port and hopefully the person that buys it of ebay won't know the difference :/
FYI: not everyone here is retarded i know what OTA means -_-

Gime a break dude.. I was just syaing in case because there are a lot of people here who dont know.
And if you were compiling a kernel why did you stop? because the best 3 guys are on it now and they cant get the new drivers to work.
Mainly because I made no progress and im attempting to sell the phone as I said I have a nexus 1 now
i just purchased the New Mytouch from t-mobile and i am trying to root the phone but i cant find the right info to do so, does anyone know how to root and where to get the root info, i had the 32b and it was very easy to root so i don't see why this should be any different.
i am not sure if they have tried rooting the 1.2 yet

Follow the method for getting a working gold card(quite a ***** to do) then flash the thing with the fender rom, as that's currently the only one i could find that work

Your link will be useful for downgrading the SPL and what not, but the link above will provide a rooted near-stock rom and the needed boot/radio/etc image.

Well s-on does mean security on and of course s-off 1s security offbso maybe with you putting s-on the phone is now locked? I don't know just a wild guess on my side
It's the new HTC HBOOT, it's part of their new unlocking the bootloader stuff. You should really read up on things before asking questions as it's covered already

that wasnt meant at you mate..
solved it anyway...
done the s-off on the new hboot..
changed the cid back to threeuk (H3G__001)
flashed three uk ruu file
used the fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
i now have s-on with no *** LOCKED *** message
all this for a stupid power button failure!!
this phone has some serious design flaws
Where did you find the three UK rom i was looking for this myself but cant seem to find it.

I doubt anyone here is wealthy enough to afford some manors. One or even two is possible, but "some" implies multiple manors.
Hi, Im Coming from The Mytouch 4G my 2nd one died on my attempt to downgrade. Luckly my insurance covered me for a new phone and my new phone is going to be the Sensation. So i was wondering is there anything to look out for and to point me to the right place to Root my phone out the box.

JUst wondering where i can get the official HTC Desire S stock rom from for my device.
I've tried about 4-5 stock RUU's and non of them seem to work, they load into the bootloader then say error.
I dont know how to check what rom i had or need but the ones i tried where what others had tried for the same device...like froyo, bravo, WWE and cdsm a think.
I might be going way wrong somewhere but if anyone could point me in the right direction it'd be much appreciated.
I'm keeping the rooted rom for now but incase i ever need to take it into the shop, its always there to reset the phone

youve got same set up as me, when i first started looking at rooting my phone i came across a thread that basically said that the one for the radio i have is this one RUU_Saga_Vodafone_UK_1.32.161.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.15_M_release_179398_signed
i downloaded the rom as soon as i found it as i had a feeling i wouldn't see it again, dont know if this helps but will upload if your interested
