Is there a VNC server available for Android yet? I would like one that functions as well as Veency for jailbroken iPhones; one that runs as if part of the OS (no app to launch).
Any ideas?

I'm looking for a remote desktop program that will allow remote login to a wm6 phone ie running a remote desktop server on the phone (not client). Basically I have 2 - wm 6 phones and I'd like to be be able to control one of them remotely either via my main phone or pc over the internet. I'll keep searching, but if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated. I have read multiple articales about a Real VNC solution but their website yields nothing.
Thanks
This flavour of RealVNC works fine for me...

Yes what client do you use with that? Also how has it been working for you? Reliable, fast etc? Looks like very limited support and documentation for that project. I actually didn't realize the CE software can run on WM.
Ok so I figured it out (I feel kinda dumb asking what client to use). So I downloaded the real vnc viewer and got it working. The only thing I'd really like to do now is get some sort of dyndns type service going on the phone as restarting it changes the ip everytime.
Hi,
I have downloaded a trial of Mocha VNC - pretty cool VNC client.
on the website it says it's touchscreen compatible, however I cannot do the thing with my touchscreen - the only what is working is using keyboard cursor keys to move the screen around.
Any finger friendly available?
I'm using Mocha VNC and the touchscreen version does work as advertised, I can only guess it's some configuration issue on your end. However you may have issues when using UltraVNC Server on a dual monitor setup. Using TightVNC and having it show the Primary display fixes that.
Having said that, I'm on the look out for other VNC clients for Windows Mobile as well. I've tried Jaadu VNC for the iPhone and that's what I call a quality VNC client for mobile devices, just too bad there doesn't seem to be something similar for Windows Mobile.
Works! I have do the setup again, but strange moving the screen over windows desktop with ultravnc did not work, however realvnc on my mac works flawless
Just started looking into this, but what's the best way to remote desktop on android? I did it with my iPod and iPhone but since I'm sticking with my Nexus S I was looking for a better solution. Ideas?
there are VNC clients, and RPD clients for windows
i use them all the time to connect back to work servers, and home PCs
LogMeIn is what I use.
Xtralogic Remote Desktop Client is far and away the best one I've found on Android. It uses the RDP built into Windows, so you don't have to install anything on your PC.

I came here to say this exact same thing. Xtralogic Remote Desktop Client reigns supreme. I cannot live without it and is one of the main reasons why I can't leave Android. Using the screen as a touchpad is the best thing ever. You can zoom in and out, use multiple resolutions, etc.
If and when you decide on a remote desktop app. If you want to have a more secure system, you can use connectbot to tunnel your remote desktop connections through. if you have a ssh server, or a router w/ 3-rd party firmware at home.

Hi there,
I've been trying to connect to my Phone via VNC protocol from the computer, either with an USB cable hooked or some kind of internet layer (LAN).
I have seen on Windows there is the Android Studio One which has a VNC Server client on it , but for Linux I cant find something that it does the same job.
I've tried some tools but most of them they don't work as expected:
My phone is a Xiaomi Redmi 7
The only app it worked as expected is Alpha VNC Lite https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.abr.android.avnc&hl=en_US&gl=US
You just install it , press start , and it gives you an IP address which you can use on your VNC Client to connect.
I dont want to install thatone cause it has a policy of one device per license , so I would have to spend nearly 50 Pounds to purchase a multi-device license and for the usage I'm going to do that is not going to cover the costs at all.
I've tried the following ones unsucesfully:
droid VNC Server v1.1
vmlite vnc server
And some other more that I happen to uninstall straightaway.
Thanks very much
