Yes its your bad. It works from any place on pc(desktop too), you prapobly have no adb tool directory in system path. You should.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html said:
The primary tools/ directory is located at the root of the SDK folder. Adding tools to your path lets you run Android Debug Bridge (adb) and the other command line tools without needing to supply the full path to the tools directory.
- On Linux, edit your ~/.bash_profile or ~/.bashrc file. Look for a line that sets the PATH environment variable and add the full path to the tools/ directory to it. If you don't see a line setting the path, you can add one:
export PATH=${PATH}:<your_sdk_dir>/tools
- On a Mac OS X, look in your home directory for .bash_profile and proceed as for Linux. You can create the .bash_profile if you haven't already set one up on your machine.
- On Windows, right-click on My Computer, and select Properties. Under the Advanced tab, hit the Environment Variables button, and in the dialog that comes up, double-click on Path (under System Variables). Add the full path to the tools/ directory to the path.

F.A.Q
Q: Which versions of .NET Framework do i have?"
A: Navigate with the Windows explorer to "%systemroot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework". There you can see some folders with the version of .NET Framework as their names.
Q: If I try to start the exe file i get this error: "Application failed to initialize (0x0000135)"
A: Your .NET Framework version is too old. Download version 3.5 here.
Q: If I try to start the exe file i get this error: "unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application"
A: That means that you have installed .NET Framework 4.0. But 4.0 hasn't include 3.5. Download version 3.5 here.
Will be checking this out! Looks cool.
Looks like a really handy little tool! Nice job.
IMO you could make the window a lot smaller.
Maybe I will make the window smaller in the next version. But maybe there will be new features which need that space
Be aware that certain kernels have exposed an issue with HTC Sync Windows driver and caused reboots upon plugging in via USB.
On the kernel end most devs have resolved it - but there may be some people out there that haven't encountered it yet or updated their kernel.
No need to panic - it's a known issue.
In case it happens to anyone in your thread.
Nice but scary to use! I think I'll wait for others to use and report back.

What are the options in the tool you are afraid of?
I think you can't break (or brick) your device with this tool. If you flash a wrong radio rom, the device should have a backup from the right one.
Version 1.2 is up! Have fun
The version 1.2.1, which fixes a huge bug in v1.2, is up now!
ill have to check this out!
Hey guys
The version 1.3 is up now. With multi language!
So it would be great if you guys could translate it to your language!
I uploaded version 1.3.1 which fixes a bug where "Fix permissions" wasn't working.
Okay...
I think a beta version with featurse to flash custom roms, nandroid, and wipe should be ready tomorrow. So I need a few beta testers, before I release the version officially!
If anyone is interested in testing the new features, please contact me!
regards
Very cool tool. (Or actually, compilation of tools.) Looking forward to how it gets developed. Good work.
It would be awesome if the flashing rom feature becomes available soon! Still waiting for the beta to become official!
I could really need a few testers more, that I don't publish a tool which doesn't work..
Please contact me if you want to help! (you will be mentioned in the OP )
could u make this to work on mac??
whats is the idea behind this tool. I see it talks about copy files to and from and some adb etc. Is it like android wonder machine I mean as in transferring .apks files also

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
It works like that:
-It makes the BackupMarket folder in C:\
-It copies the com.android.vending-1.apk (which is in /data/app/ and this file could not exist!) in the phone to the C:\BackupMarket folder
-It copies the file Vending.apk (whic is in /system/app/ this file exist in every devices) from the device to C:\BackupMarket
-It copies the com.android.vending-1.apk (whic is included in the script) to the /data/app/ directory into the device
-It copies the file Vending.apk (whis is included in the script) to the /system/app/ directory in the device
-The script will reboot the phone.
This is how it works, if you wants the source-code, don't hesitate to contact me in PM or at [email protected]

Doesn't work for me - creates the directory and then sits there, doing nothing. No files copied. Debug is on, USB Storage off (also tried with it on). Unarchived and ran ADB in archive with "devices" - nothing shows as connected so that's probably why.
Will try again at home where I did the original root - maybe ADB is not working here. Will update later.

You have no ADB Drivers in your PC. I'm 100% sure of that, and now I will explain to you why is that:
The script controls that your phone is connected to the PC and that is correctly running with ADB. If the phone isn't working fine with ADB the script will NOT run until the phone is correctly running with ADB.
In english, that means that your ADB Drivers aren't installed properly
Let me know if the script works on your main PC

Yes, and I figured that out after awhile and tried to install them but was unsuccessful. I tried it again on the home PC (Vista64) where I had previously installed the SDK and it appeared to start but not finish - after showing the transfer statistics, it basically just stopped.
I did see activity on the phone, but not a full reboot. When I looked at the market however, it had definitetly updated it and it was working great. With the script still active and the phone connected, I did a manual reboot. At that point the script declared the update a success.
So guess the only thing it missed was doing a full cold reboot.
The new market looks and works great - thanks so much for putting this together for noob hackers like myself. In addition to making it easy, looking at the syntax of the script taught me a few things. Cheers!

Does everything works?
No. Hence this is Alpha version. I have tested it on my phone Samsung Galaxy 3 i5801 as well as a Jelly bean emulated device. Other devices are supported but not tested. This tool dose not brick your phone but improper use may result in loss of data. Please Use at your own risk.
[Technical]
Internally, its all based on adb and aapt tools. Using adb commands and shell commands everything is done. Using aapt tool, a apk file is parsed to get app name and icon.
Written in java, and windows exe is created with JSmooth
How to use AAM?
Connect phone via usb cable. Make sure your system passes requirements mentioned above.
When AAM runs for first time, it will ask for ADB home directory (where adb.exe and aapt.exe are present) and a directory for storing backup data.
AAM will load apps installed on device. Please note that when there is no backup of a application, its icon, app name can not be retrieved.
You can start using AAM by selecting applications from list and clicking on action buttons listed on right hand side.
For quick selection, use select check-box options - To select all, system apps, user apps, Uninstalled system and user apps.
Reboot options are mentioned on menu-bar above application list.
You can change backup directory as well as ADB home directory using 'Configuration' menu.
Installing an application can be done in 2 modes. Normal mode and force mode. Normal mode will try to install app using adb. Forse mode will push application apk to user or system app directory.
If you like AAM, don't forget to give donation form Donate menu or About AAM button.
(Uninstalled apps means applications whose backup is present in AAM but its not installed on device.
Does AAM requires device rooted?
No. non-rooted devices are partially supported. In fact, AAM uses busybox. sometimes. If your device has busybox, you can use all AMM functions. Withtou busybox, some functionality may affect but core functions will work.
Limitations and known issues?
I have not tested AAM on all devices.
Contacts and messages are not restored across different versions of Android.
Operates on one device at a time.
While AAM is running, device disconnect is not detected.
Still may be more.
What are future plannings of AAM / Wish List?
(DONE)
Also, to make CWM flashable zip file of selected applications backups to restore them on phone recovery.
Do not hesitate to add items in wish-list.
Where are source files?
current source files are raw develper D) files. I will spend some time on beautification of source like create license text, comments etc and upload.
I will appreciate and welcome any feedback and suggestions.
Work in progress for integrating link2sd features....
it will mount sd-ext partition and can create links of apk files to this partitoin == more internall memory .
I will try to make this compatible with 'link2sd' app so that both (AAM and link2sd app) should be on same page.
init.d support needed from kernel to use this functionality.

OP... Any plans to put this on the playstore?
I'd like to note again just how great this app is. Saved me a TON of time after my recent clean flash.
Why does Pairs have a process and service active? I just noticed under Settings / Developer / Running Services that Pairs is listed there. Its been literally days since it was used...
This is a really good app..... saves a lot of time on clean flashes. :good:

Update: Even after stopping, the process and service later appeared. Clearing auto-boot and keep-awake AppOps had zero lasting effect.
Pairs is now uninstalled. When needed I might install to make a backup or restore, but it will immediately be uninstalled after.
This user cares about giving apps free and unrestricted access to my phone.

I fixed background process sometimes starting with v1.2, it shouldn't run at all in the background when exiting with the back button.
where is this info being stored on the phone? i'd like to back it up to my drive if possible in case i need to do a full storage wipe. a cloud backup option would also be amazing.

thanks - it wasn't showing up in solid explorer, but root explorer shows the folder now.
It is not installing at all. Either version 1 or 2. It gives an error message, "can't open file".

Can you be more specific? Maybe bad download..
Works with Android 5.0+
Pairs-v1.2.apk md5sum : 72c922d0cae6fd48d4483e58b6d78baf
I am on Android 7.1 Nitrogen rom. Someone in that forum recommended this but it won't install for me. It just says can't open file when I try to install.

Try installing apk by launching it with a third party file explorer instead of the notification or the stock download manager.
That worked. I went and found the file in ES File Explorer and then when I tried to install it from there it worked. Strange. Thank you.
