Alright so I have my awesome touch pro 2 and everytime I open my text messages I gues it has to load every single one. And because I got like over 2000 messages, it like basically crashes and doesn't work for like 2 minutes. Is there any way that I can KEEP my messages and still have like none of that crashing or lag time? Something that will only make it load like 10 messages from each person or something? Sorry I am a total noon at winmo. Just got this phone like at Christmas. I think it rocks just they need to work on windows mobile a bit. Anyway, all the help is much appreciated!! Thanks!

I have a problem, that from time to time my WM phone (Hermes) freezes and then I have to do a reset with the stylus and all the unread SMS that I´ve received in the meantime are gone..
Is there a way to prevent this, please? (e.g. a program that would automatically mark all incoming SMS as read so that the WindowsMobile system will actually store them even in case of a reset?)

I tried and mine works normally. I sent myself an SMS. I didn't open or read it when it arrived. I just left it unread in the inbox. I performed a soft reset using the stylus. When the device rebooted the SMS was still in the inbox showing as unread.
yeah but when the phone freezes it will delete.

so what can be done? i am thinking of a soft that would either keep the unread sms in its own memory on the memory card or a soft that would save it right away as read.. it is such a bummer, it´s a feature of Windows Mobile but I am wondering why this doesn´t bother anyone else...
Yes believe me this is a major pain in the a#@*! Has happened to me quite a few times and even made me miss an important appointment once...
I take it that this is simply a "feature" of the system but it could be down to a rogue program somewhere. Not for me to say anything of course but some of the third party programs available do seem to make my machine freeze more than most. Remove them and it works ok for long periods.

that is the same source of madness for me.. last week I got an SMS from a horny girlfriend but the phone froze, sms is gone and she says that she will not say what was in it, beacuse she is ashamed how open it was and wants to play a dame now.. aaaargh....
just this afternoon my sms messaging became extremely extremely slow completely randomly. i am constantly txting and literally it was working perfectly and the next message i sent locked up the phone. now it takes approximatly 10 mins for a message to be sent and i cannot type too fast or anything or the entire application will lock up. I have done multiple resets and nothing changes. other applications on my phone such as internet and making calls and file explorer and everything works just fine and at the normal speed it is just my SMS messaging. i just can't think of anything that it could be anymore. Im trying to delete messages from my inbox now thinking its too full and the app is running slow from that but it is running soo slow that its been almost 15 min now and its still trying to delete one message. Any ideas on what to do? I really don't want to have to reflash the ROM .. its been working so well for like a year now

Does someone knows why when adding people to ppl tab the phone slows down and is almost unresponsive? I was adding 3 ppl and it took 5min and after that for another 10-15 min the phone is still slow, like it is busy with doing something... Any explanation and /or solution appreciated.
If you've got a lot of text messages on your phone then this can be the cause.
If this is the case, your best choice is to backup your text messages and then delete them from the phone. (I use MyPhone to do this, as you can archive them online, delete them all online with a couple of clicks, and then they're deleted off your phone @ next synch).
To be honest, I'm very suprised you're suffering from that problem with a ROM from Dutty, so that might not be the answer, but it has been in the majority of cases.
I think you're right about sms's. I have lots of them. Even worse - they were imported so the database might be screwed up. I don't blame the Duttys ROM - its nice and stable
Anybody use IM+ on their Transformer? Do you randomly see a popup in the notification area stating "IM+ is running"? Why the hell does it do that and is there a way to make it stop? I first installed IM+ back on like June 3rd and used it for a couple days and it did NOT do this. Then a few days later a new version came out and it started diong that then, and it's done it with every version since. I asked about it on the IM+ forum but nobody seemed to knkow anything aout it as if I have some secial tablet or version of the software.
On antoher note, wish they'd fix the damn keyboard lag in browsers other than Opera, makes typing crap up like this almost worthless.
IM+ gives me this, too. Not only that, but when I decide to exit, IM+ decides to restart itself and pop that toast up. It's really annoying.
I have a Google Pixel 4A 5G with CalyxOS. Also tried Graphene OS. The stock texting app in those OSes does not support group chats which I use a lot with family, so I ended up installing QKSMS as it's the only app I can find that does support group chats and that works decently.
However, randomly I will start getting old texts back, it's super annoying. It basically replays a past conversation and I just get all the same texts. At one point it got so bad I had to just switch back to my old phone because I was being bombarded with old texts. Now it happens maybe once a day, where it replays the conversation from a week ago. But it's random, sometimes it's a conversation from a day ago.
I also tried an experiment, when it started to happen I put it in airplane mode to see if it continues and it stopped, and when I took it out of airplane mode it started again. So it's like if the phone is actually queering the server to retrieve the messages again. Is there a way to make this stop? I just want to get the texts once. Or is there a way I can troubleshoot this, like some kind of logging I can check to see why it's doing this?
Also open to trying another texting app if it's related to this particular app, I just have not found any in the Fdroid store that seem to do group chats, and it's hard to test this feature without trying it and it annoys people when I do it.
Just bumping... really hoping someone can know how to make this stop.
I tried switching to Signal (still SMS/MMS since that's what everyone I know uses) and it's still doing it. So this is not an issue with the specific texting app...
I really don't know what to do anymore, this is so annoying. I may give in and go back to stock android but I really hate all the spying crap it does.
