I'm pretty sure both GRemote and Salling Clicker can do this, both are good apps.

Salling Clicker is perfectly doing the job. Not only controlling WMP but also (with extra scripts) several other apps like MediaMonkey, PowerPoint, etc. Highly recommended

I'm trying Salining Clicker over wireless but no success, are using wi-fi or bluetooth?

no newer apps that look a bit nicer?

GRemote looks nice and works great.

I use registered version of Alloysoft Signal
Not quite perfect on WVGA, but great app any way. Worth paying the $$ for full functionality IMO.

GRemote is still the best. Works over WiFi and Bluetooth and enables you to control your Mouse, MediaPlayer, Racing Games via GSensor etc just everything... And the interface is quiet nice

Control your PC over bluetooth?

Someone developed an app for SonyEricsson phones:
http://www.jeyo.com/products/JeyoRemote.asp
Would be very cool if someone could do the same for the XDA II / IIs. 8) There's gotta be enough coders here who could manage this.
Would love to lie in bed and control my WinAMP playlist using my XDA II to suit my mood. (Or better to control my wife's mood with my WinAMP playlist? )
pocketpc have an program which is called
therminal services which does that
if one dont like that then there is also pocketVNC which does it aswell
i think there are many other programs which does it aswell
No, it's not so much a slow, bloaty remote-desktop program like NetOp or VNC or similar. It's more like a remote-control (IR-type) keypad which can be programmed to send specific commands to your PC over Bluetooth.
Those remote-desktop programs are just too slow and unworkable on this tiny screen IMHO.
then i guess it comes down to what you want to control is it just audio or is it a spc audio program like winamp
i guess it's just a matter of a program on the pc which just speak with a com port it dont know that it's using bluetooth at all
and a program on the pocketpc which also speak with a com port and send stuff that the pc program interp and control what ever have to be controled
maybe there are programs like that al ready

The Jeyo one for the SonyEricsson phones can control anything, it seems...
Salling Clicker
My boss used a program to control his Apple computer, by using his palm-tungsten or his sony-ericsson t610.
That nifty piece of software is called Salling Clicker
http://homepage.mac.com/jonassalling/Shareware/Clicker/
Unfortunately, Jonas Salling is only into macOS and SymbianOS, and not into windowsXP and PocketPC :-(
But if anyone is looking for inspiration for such a tool, this is a great start![/url]
Is anyone up for the challenge of getting Salling Clicker to work for the XDA II?
(Please say yes, 'cause I just set my room up so my bed points at my computer display so I can watch DVDs etc.)
Cheers,

I use Total Input Elite Edition to control my laptop - I use it as a bluetooth remote control to control WinDVD, WinAmp and WinTV. The downside is with the built-in bluetooth stack you have to activesync over bluetooth if you want to create a network connection with the laptop and Total Input is a bit slow loading themes (there's a limit of four).

If u only want to remote control winamp why dont try RemoteAmp? Works great!

Hmm, looking at that link...
Is it possible to use the infra-red port of the XDA II to control the TV/VCR/CD Player etc? I seem to remember someone saying a while ago that the IR Port isn't powerfull enough.
Is it possible?

Remote control application

Hi,
Does anyone know a decent remote control application for the HD2?
By that I mean something to control Windows Media Player running on my PC from my phone.
I know I could use the remote desktop application but I'm looking for something more simple, like a basic remote with pause, play, volume, etc.
Either bluetooth or wifi run...
Thanks

How to get that zoom help tool in that video. The minifullscreen at the bottom at the screen.???
As the guy on youtube said, you just have to pinch to zoom and if the actual view is not the smallest one, you will have this little navigation view

Bluetooth Remote Control Application

Does anyone know about a nice & easy bluetooth remote control application for mega/windows mobile? I'm looking for one since I bought my phone and couldn't find a straightforward app. Winamp/Media player control would be nice and also powerpoint for presentations and maybe vlc . All in one app would be great
Before this one I had a symbian phone and had an app that could do exactly this. It was called "Phone Remote Control 5.0". It also seems to have a client for windows mobile but I tried it and it doesn't work. I can't imagine something similar being available for this platform, that's why I'm asking here.
I want to mention that I tried a lot of solutions before coming here, like GRemote, VLC Remote, Bluetooth Remote Control and others. None of them seemed to work properly. Any thoughts?
Try Salling Clicker
GRemote pro 1.3.2.96 works on my touch2, with default - QVGA skin no G-sensor ofcourse

[Q] The best remote?

Hi everyone,
I've just come into the world to Android from an iPhone. The one thing I'm really struggling with is a decent and easy to set up Windows PC remote control app.
On the iPhone I had Hippo Remote which was in a word perfection. Different profiles for different programs, a lag free trackpad and excellent keyboard. I can't seem to find any android app which has the same functionality and after looking for a while I don't expect too.
The main program I use is VLC. Can anyone recommend a VLC remote which is lag free, can make videos go full screen, play, pause, stop, rewind and fast forward and quite importantly enable/disable subtitles? I don't mind paying for it as long as people have had good experiences from it
I've tried a couple of free ones but can't seem to find one which either works or is of any use.
Thanks

[Q] Remote controlling Android device with other Android device

I have my old Legend Smartphone connected to a subwoofer and speakers to play the mp3 on its sd card with better quality and more volume throughout my pad.
What I want to do is controlling the music player (any music player) on the Legend with my Galaxy Nexus, which is connected to the same Wifi network. As my place has 2 stories, it's a hassle to walk down, if I just want to skip a song or manipulate volume or equalizer settings.
Did anyone have a similar problem? I played around with twonky servers, allshare, dnla and Media Server apps, but it seems, they only stream back to my Nexus, which I don't want, as it's in my pocket and not connected to the sound system. Tried Airdroid, but it doesn't have that functionality and runs horribly slow in the phone browser.
I'm a bit clueless now on how to achieve this simple function. Could anyone push me in the right direction or towards the app, that could do something like that?
Thanks a million!

VNC? There may be some other solutions, I just immediately think VNC for remote control. If you have root on your old phone there are good VNC servers out there.
Yup, both phones are rooted.
So what you suggest is installing a vnc server app on the Legend and a vnc client on the Nexus to control the Legend's music player with? Interesting! Gotta give that a try.
Do you have any apps you would personally recommend due to their ease of use and light overhead?

am using
droid VNC server BETA, I was using the application its pretty gud
Thanks for the help so far! I'm using now droidVNC on the Legend and Mocha VNC as the client on the Nexus. Looking good so far and the overhead seems pretty low.
On the Legend I use Cloudskipper Music Player, as it offers good lock screen controls (including volume controls).
Will use it a while like that and maybe come up with some more ideas on how to smoothen the experience. I like also the controls and notifications of Simple Lock screen, although it doesn't have volume controls.
Anyway, thanks for helping out! ;-)
