Hi all,
I have a problem with my Sensation due to my own fault.
I want to flash ARHD ICS rom to my phone, and I started with rooting my Sensation. I followed all instruction til installing the Recovery (PG58IMG).
I downloaded two versions of PG58IMG (one for ICS and one for the other), but I copied the firmware for ICS version to my SD card and already installed it. Now, my phone already S-off but cannot reboot into homescreen. It keeps rebooting it self in white hTC screen (after I installed the ICS firmware).
I don't know how to fix. I tried to read the troubleshoot in the post but I still cannot fix it. Does anyone have a solution??
Thanks in advance

If I understand you correctly you flashed the firmware upgrade BEFORE you flashed the new ICS rom? If so you'll need to get your sdcard card out (and get your computer to read it) so you can rename the PG85img on your sdcard so you can get back into recovery so you can flash the new ICS rom.

Yes, I flashed the upgraded firmware before not only I flashed ICS rom, but also I get rooted. Now, I can't flash any rom as well as su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip or su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip.
It still keep bootlooping. I tried to flash the other firmware, but it showed 'CID incorrect'. I don't know how to fix now
Did you check MD5 Sums before you flashed the ROM because it sounds like a bad download so re-download the ROM and reflash

I did check MD5 sums for all files I downloaded and it is corrected.
Now, I'm curious that whether it is possible to flash the upgraded firmware before being rooted.
And of course you need to be using the right version of the firmware for the rom you want to flash. Mike's latest uses 3.24 per here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
I don't know if you can get into fastboot or not, but you should be able to check the CID of your phone there, and download the right firmware for your phone. If your phone is carrier independent (i.e. didn't get on contract) then the HTC__xxx variety should be good.

Thank you so much for your link. I can boot my Sensation into the homescreen now. For my problem, I have to download and flash the older version (3.17) to fix it.
Thanks all of you for your reply again.
+1 for me, solve with a new download .
Just flash the Mod, the bootloop is normal.
I got the same problem, before i flashed Revolution Rom i used that radio package. After the radio package flash, my phone wass stuck in a bootloop.
I took the memory card out en removed the zip file en flashed the revolution rom. After that my phone started normal.
SOrry for the bad enlgish.
Good luck mate.
hey, guys i just had the same problem, kinda. lol
anyways my phone is rooted, s-off and superCID
when i went to install the new ics rom i did everything this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
said to do and when the new root booted up for the first time, it would go up to the beats audio logo,( the ics rom with beats audio (xe)) then like restart back to the htc startup logo, then beats again then htc again, it just kept doing this..??
so i just deleated everything and restored back to origional backup rom.
so what did i do wrong?
a bad download link/file? can u give me a good one?
thanks, any help is greatly appreciated as iam totally lost right now...
edit:
also do i even need this file (PG58IMG.zip.) to flash the ics rom if my phone is superCID ??? iam confused on that part.
nevermind, figured it out and got it work! the new ics is pretty sweet!!
thanks for everything- towards all the developers and testers on here
Cool. The answer is yes of course. The firmware file contains a specific radio / hboot / etc version. The ROM you download and install is dependent on certain combinations of the firmware versions you have. The super cid just allows you to flash any of the firmwares available here... Otherwise you have to find the specific one for your region and/or carrier.
Also, don't forget you can use an adb logcat while your phone is booting to see if you can diagnose any boot-looping issues. Just run that command on your PC with your phone attached via USB cable

To do so,
1. Download the correct firmware version ( PG58IMG.zip V3.24 ) and copy it to the root of your SDCARD.
Be 200% sure that the downloaded zip file is not corrupted. ( Check the MD5 checksum after you download)
2. Pull Back the battery and wait for a minute.
3. Put the battery and press POWER+VOLUME Down Key together.
4. Your phone will detect the firmware.
5. Follow the screen and complete the flashing.
6. Download the ICS based ROM of your favor.
7. Boot into recovery and flash your rom.

No you didn't do everything the thread said to do because you're stuck in a bootloop. And yes, you must have correct firmware to run any ICS ROM.
1. SuperCID.
2. Load correct firmware for ROM version you wish to flash (there are 3 different firmwares, 3.06, 3.12 and 3.24. Make sure you've got the right one.
Put PG58IMG.zip on the root of your damn SD card.
Put the ROM you want on the root of your damn SD card.
Put a wipe or superwipe script on the root of your damn SD card.
So far it's easy, no?
Boot to bootloader, select FASTBOOT, select yes to update.
Watch the phone. You should see it flash some partitions, reboot itself, then flash the radio and some other crap.
When done you should be at correct HBOOT and radio.
Now, pull the battery. Pull the SD card.
Insert the battery. Start the phone with power + Volume down.
Move cursor to recovery.
Insert SD card and select recovery.
Flash the wipe script, flash the ROM.
Now if you did everything exactly like this, you will boot to normal phone in about 10 minutes or so.
This has been spelled out 50 times in 50 threads, including threads devoted to nothing but this procedure.
Your phone is a machine. It can only do what you tell it to do. If you screw up, it's screwed up. If you do everything exactly right, in the right order, carefully checking each step, your phone will behave.
Try again.
Do it right. Do it carefully.

But the problem is, i CANT go back to my 2.3.5, i mean i wiped everything off and did reinstall from scratch (2.3.5 insertcoin) it installs without any errors but it will not boot, it just keep rebooting. I think its something to do with new firmware which i had to update to ICS. Please people help me i want my 2.3.5 back.

You need to go back to the older firmware, 3.12, you can find it in the firmware thread.
You have to revert back to at least 3.24. 3.25 is not compatible with gb roms...
P.s this is wrong place to post

do the exact same as you donr to upgrade your firmware but choose the d/level one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
This is the best way I have found to do it.
2. Best way is to place Firmware PG58IMG.zip, ROM and Superwipe script on the root of your SD Card.
3. Shut down phone and remove SD card.
4. Boot phone to Bootloader (Power+Vol down).
5. Move selection to Recovery, but don't select yet.
6. Insert SD, then select Recovery.
7. Flash Superwipe (ARHD Superwipe will reboot when done, others may not) & then Flash ROM.
8. Power down, then boot to Bootloader. Select Fastboot. Say yes to upgrade.
9. Watch the flash. It will flash 3 or 4 things, then reboot to bootloader. Don't panic when screen goes dark. Bootloader will come back and it will finish flashing.
10. Now select reboot.
11. Wait (up to 10 minutes) for ROM to boot up.
sorry not very good in forums, though thats a place to ask a question... like about firmware.. Respect for georgia -)))
A few month ago, I updated my wife's DesireS with a custom rom so she could have the Sense 3 before the official update.
I installed the clockwork recovery, but now I cannot install the official rom, because after the install's reboot, I'm in recovery and it doesn't flash the update.
Altought I have a EVO3D with KingCobra's 1.9 Rom, I'm not too familiar with HBOOT and RECOVERY, and I couldn't find an original Desire S recovery to allow the offical update.
Of course, I made some google searches, but I couldn't find how to solve this problem. Most replies tell to flash another rom, not the official. But my wife is my wife, and each time she has a problem, she tells me that it is because it is not an official (bug free?) ROM.
I tried to run a shipped rom from this thead : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506 , but I fall in a boot loop, not able to enter recovery, no USB connection to flash with recoverymanager, and at a moment, I even thinked I bricked the phone.
Fortunately, I found the VolUP+Power several times, and I was able the re-flash the previous rom.
Can someone help me please.
Thank you.
@kitarolivier
Little unsure on what you are needing.
Do you 1) want to revert the phone to stock, i.e. as you first got it (s-on again/no custom recovery/not rooted) or 2) flash a stock ROM but the latest (still s-off/able to root/custom recovery installed).
Also you need to provide more info, like the current hboot, and what method you used to s-off, what was the software version when you s-offed, which RUU you tried. More info easier and more direct solution.
The thread you linked are RUU's to get the phone to point 1.
foX2delta : Thank you for reading and replying.
You are right : I want to revert it as i received it. My goal is to install last offical rom with the htc update in the settings.
I will post hboot version when I'll get hands on my wife's phone. I didn't expected a reply so soon
I installed a rooted rom (can remember which one) with rom manager.
Full information this evening (GMT+1).
@kitarolivier
How did you s-off the phone? Also do you know if the phone is a Europe unbranded device?
@foX2delta :
The phone is S-OFF
HBOOT 6.98.1002
It's an unbranded european phone.
Is this enough as information ?
You should be able to flash this eng hboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17481836&postcount=2 via fastboot, then you should be able to flash the stock rom that you tried to flash previously
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Thank you for the answer. I'll check that tomorrow, because I'm not home today.
Regards,
Olivier.

Pretty easy fix.
Have a look at this guide I wrote here, follow section 2.
If you want to get the latest (2.3.5/sense 3.0) then use the 2.10.401.8 RUU.
Hello,
I find lots of helpfull contents here, especially in your guide @foX2delta.
I'm a bit interessted by the second method to get stock ROM "2) flash a stock ROM but the latest (still s-off/able to root/custom recovery installed)."
Is it possible to get the stock ROM and keep s-off and custom recovery ? Have you a guide about this ?
I know it's possible to get the ROM from RUU but how to install this rom.zip ?
thank you in advance, bye
ps: sry for my poor english
@LitonX
If your phone is s-off and you have a custom recovery then it is as easy and flashing a rom, see this thread for prerooted stock roms.
thx,
i get HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Prerooted_Deodexed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480576). it's works fine.
I have a last one question. it is complicated to make my own flashable .zip from the "rom.zip" wich is obtained by RUU (start RUU and get rom.zip in %tmp%) ?

I followed with success the section 2 of your tutorial. I also donwloaded in installed the ROM you suggested, and it was OK. After that, the device updated a few apps (FB, locations, etc...).
Many thanx for your help, and I will press the thanki button right now, so you are now at 33 I think.

Basically, you have to go through flashing the bootloader twice.
Hello everyone, yesterday I just unlocked bootloader of htc picos and flashed custom recovery (TRWP), and flashed HTC sense 4.0 bulletFX(final) rom. Both of phones stuckd at boot animation. Laters after lot of tries even reflashing recoveries. It didn't work. Laters I tried to install jaggyjag rom 3.2.1 which worked.. but again I wiped phones and tried to install HTC Sense 4.0 bulletFX (final) rom that didn't worked. Well, laters I thought to install jaggyjag rom 3.2.1 and rooted them. But once again I tried to install HTC Sense 4.0 bulletFX (final).. it didn't work. P.S. I partitioned the sd cards to ext4 of 1GB atleast as per required by rom. Need your help to install the rom.!!
tell me is this because of not rooting?

Please tell is this because of not rooting? Or I need to reflash from scratch
First of all Root the device properly..Don't leave the work incomplete. Now that you have unlocked the bootloader your warranty is already void,so just flash the superuser.zip.Second,Many are facing problems in the BulletFX ROM(same as you)....even if it does boot or starts many are facing random reboots problem. It is not completely stable ROM and since you have just unloacked your phone yesterday I would recommend to either use CM9 or CM10 ROMs or stay on Jaggy ROM if possible.
---------- Post added at 08:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:47 PM ----------
I am just telling to use a stable ROM so that you don't face a problem and if you really want to use BulletFX so bad than try to make Ext 2 or Ext 3 partition and also use Superwipe.zip..to wipe everything properly..and than flash the ROM that might work.

Hi all,
I've been trying to unlock my phone so I can use it with another SIM. I got the unlock code by this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693491&page=51. I was running Dirty Unicorn ROM, so it didn't work. It said in the post that I needed a Sense based ROM. I tried to install Venom S/C2 but I couldn't, I flashed boot boot the boot_onesc2 (because I'm S-ON) and now I can't recover the backup I did before the process. I don't really know how I should flash the Kernel, after or before the ROM. How can I get back my backup? Do you know other Sense based ROM's that I can use?
Thanks in advance for the help, Im kind of new in these stuff
