Brikked? - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

my magic 32A (Italy -TIM) is in the "RUU USB mode only" trap.
While I was having great times with the vanilla 3.5.4.xx, I had the terrible idea to apply the official RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.3_release_signed_NoDriver.
Result: the update process fail dued to the wrong customer/phone ID and at the moment the mobile is in RUU_USB mode only. This means:
HBOOT 1.76.0009 S-ON
RADIO 6.35.08.29
Only fastboot seems to work so I tried to reflash recovery, data, system... but I had security blocks...
I've no idea how solve this issue.
any suggestion would be appreciated.

SOLVED by myself finding the original RUU (very rare...).

Impossible to flash any radio since my last Flashing

Hi,
It's impossible for me to upgrade now my radio since my last flash. I put the 1.65.28.25 radio with the last htc french rom.
Every time I try to flash a radio, it work upon 99%, then it stop ( error 226 ) and it go to bootloader with RUUNBH error.
When I try to flash a rom+radio th error occurs about at 73% of upgrading process.
When I try to flash any rom without radio it works in every case..
Any Ideas ???
thx for answser

well first you have to get rid of those ruunbh error flags via mtty (do a search for it and read the procedure on how to go about this).
After that security/supercid unlock your device and than proceed to flashing different radios.
Thanx for your answer
I get my kaiser back in normal mode by using KAISDIAG.NBH.
Should renew my security/cid unlock ??? I did that a few month ago.
Is it absoluty necessary to use mtty ? I put the hardspl 3.29 v2 and the commands i found in the wiki ("task 8") doesn't work. I think the mtty commands are spl dependent, i don't know theme for the patched 3.29 spl

yeah the commands are changed for 3.29 spl check jockyw's thread on more info about that. If the errors are cleared than you don't need to use mtty. Go to bootloader and give the info that is displayed over there.
My bootloader :
KAIS130
SPL-3.29.hard2
cpld-8

does it say security unlocked on the top of this info? red font on a white background. If so than you are already security/supercid unlocked if not than you are not and i would advice to do it.
try reflashing radio after security unlocking your device.
It doesn't say that security is unlocked. Only when the modified radio of the kaiserunlocker is in use for security/simunlock.
I don't undestand, because since i security unlock a feew month ago, I was able to flash any radio.
I'll try as soon as possible, and i will give you feedback
Thx you

It Seems as if your going to need your Magic Original RUU (Vodafone), place it on your sd card shut off your phone and reboot holding volume down and power button to enter fastboot and reflash the original RUU to your phone. Hopefully you can enter fast boot, and hopefully you can find the Magic Original RUU (Vodafone) somewhere on xda or somewhere on the internet. Or maybe you just need the Magic Original RUU (Vodafone) and HTC Sync to get the job done. hope this helps, but this is what I would do next. Hey think I found it check here:http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=49850

Try call to techsupport.
This is a very big problem, when you flashed 32A-related SPL to your 32B-device. Cause 32B-devices don't have any RUU-updates.
i try it today
See if you can flash the T-Mobile MyTouch3G .NBH to your device over fastboot. If you can do that, then try and go back the long way to root that rom and get rid of the perfect SPL it will flash.
Its a long road to travel, but it will get you back a usable device.

[Q] S-Off not possible because of "Error 131" - doesn't matter which RUU

Hi guys,
I am new here, so maybe I missed something.
Anyway, I followed the tutorial step-by-step to unlock my HTC Desire S which I got today (so it has a 2.x bootloader) like stated here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443636
But I can't seem to install any RUU cause of "Error 131", as told in the tutorial, I must use the RUU for my specific region.
So, my Region is Germany and my phone is from o2.
So first I used
RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.11_M_release_177977_signed.exe

because Germany is in Europe. And the only GER RUU is from "TMO" which may mean "T-Mobile" I guess. But it didn't work.
Next I thought "**** that ****" and I tried to flash (after repeating all tutorial steps):
RUU_Saga_TMO_DE_1.30.111.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.11_M_release_178580_signed.exe

But it still shows up "Error 131"... so now I am depressed. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thank you very much

Hi there,
You need to flash the RUU that is supported by your phone's version.
Turn the phone into fastboot mode (voldown + power), click fastboot, wait till it shows fastboot usb.
Open console in PC and find the android tools, type:
<androidtool dir>\ fastboot getvar all
It should come up as: INFOversion etc.
What you need to look for is INFOversion-main and INFOcidnum
Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506
and download the RUU that matches!
If you've S-OFF'd the phone with Revolutionary, then RUU will have some problems with overwriting the bootloader, follow this guide to re S-ON.

Very helpful reply buddy.
But i don't think the last line applies to him. He said he just got the phone, and it had the v2.xxx hboot to begin with, so he went looking to downgrade. If he had acheived S-off, he wouldn't be asking how to S-off in the first place.
@OP : You should try using a Goldcard when faced with a difficult choice of Region-specific RUUs. Try making one (Use Search function) and then re-running the European RUU. (You may also have to check your Misc_version to ensure compatibility, or you may hit a roadblock again.
Hi,
I just wanted to confirm for further searches / use that what has been stated inside the first answer is fully working.
I got my Desire S downgraded, S-OFFed and was able to flash MIUI, so it's finding it's way to my girlfriend as birthday present soon thank you for helping.

Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604255 >>> This will downgrade your hboot to 0.98.XXXX, read through replies they simplify the steps further.
Then follow this guide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvg0i8in96M >>> to S-OFF your phone via revolutionary.
It helped me S-OFF my phone. I have same problem like you days ago, i was S-ON, hboot unlocked, rooted and hboot 2.00.0002. Now I'm S-OFF and permanently rooted. Hope this helps!
If I'm not mistaken (and most likely I'm not), you can't downgrade a phone without locking the bootloader first. So you need to lock the bootloader and flash RUU - and you're not using the correct guide for it. You need to do some steps that aren't in the guide.

Correct, but that's after you change your misc version, which is in the guide. Locking the bootloader is part of the steps, so no worries there, RUU's are also there, I think there's one from his region so no problem. Take it from me, I started from S-ON, rooted (temp i think), boot unlocked and hboot 2.00.0002 and the guide is noob fail-safe, given you researched enough to know what you're doing, and you just do what it tells you. You'll do the deed right.
Sorry, I was replying to the OP, but you posted before me so it looks like I'm replying to you instead. I meant the guide he mentioned in his OP, not your guide.

Before starting with everything, turn on USB Debugging (settings>developer options) and turn off Fast boot (settings>Power) in your phone.
You installed HTC sync in your PC right? If not, first download and install HTC Sync (from here www(dot)htc(dot)com/sea/help/htc-desire-s/#download), you need the drivers from HTC sync, so your pc can recognize your phone.
Make sure you rebooted to bootloader. Then enter:
- fastboot oem lock >>> this is to "relocked" your phone so you can proceed to installation of the RUU.
First and foremost, is your phone branded? If yes, then choose the right RUU for you. If no, you can use the unbranded RUU. Or you can search the forum for your specific region, I think Europe RUU is ok. "Region" is your area, where you live and use your phone. Im from south east asia, so i used asia RUU. Also take note of Post #5 of the first guide, he has summarized everything and i believe he's in the same region as you. Read through everything before starting.

[Q] No network service after upgrade

Good morning all!
After severals attempts I would ask you to solve my problem.
I will try to fill with all useful informations.
I bought in India a used Desire S on March.
The system was GB and probably stock rom because on startup it appeared the Vodafone symbol.
In india I put my Vodafone sim card and all was ok.
When I came back to Italy I put my Tim sim card and all was good as well.
Last week I want to upgrade to ICS with a RUU and all was good, but after that I don't have network service at all.
With Indian Vodafone I receive the signal (in roaming of course, I don't have credit to check if it's works), with Italian Vodafone I receive the line but when I try to call no answer.
With the Italian TIM I can see only the signal of Vodafone IT but no possible to connect.
After that I rooted, unlock bootloader, downgrade hboot, rooted again.
Actually I'm Revolutionary S-off with a VodaUK RUU. I have inserted a GoldCard too.
My CID is VODAP001
I'm supposing finally that I'm SIMlock so my solution is only to buy/find someone with some "magic box" to change some deep parameter?
Thanks for all suggestion and freely ask for everything!

Sorry, this got lost in my participated threads. I've a suspicion is to do with your hboot and partitions not formatting correctly (known issue with revolutionary.io) upgrade your hboot to one of the engineered hboots (7.00.)is the one i use. also install up to date 4ext recovery. Format all and try to flash maybe one of the ics sense roms. Ill keep an eye on this thread now , sorry for the wait

I still have a feeling that is the above known issue with the hboot, seeing as your s-off it should be easy to flash the eng hboot and 4ext. Links to the hboot you'll find in the index stickied to the development thread.

I would personally recommend 4ext at the moment, I've not tried twrp on the saga and i know 4ext works.
