Hello everyone.
My brother in law gave me the PDS phone .It's a qtek but he wasn't sure on model as the phone was given to him. I attached the picture and was hoping that maybe someone could help me identify the phone. url of the image is

I also face another problem...The windows mobile OS is in Italian language and I don't speak any Italian..What would it take to install English version latest stable os?
I am complete noob to pda phones but eager to learn.

First guess would either be an Alpine or a Himalaya.
Take the battery out and have a look at the wee label underneath, this will give you the exact model.
PH10B = Himalaya
PH10C = Alpine
Both can be "upgraded" to an English ROM, the Himalaya can also be upgraded to WM6, but it doesn't have WiFi.

Hi all,
Orange France, as part of a company subscription, is giving me a really good deal on a Qtek S200 aka SPV M600.
However, I absolutely do not want the OS to be in French but I need it in English (not talking here about the "regional settings" but about the full WM5)
1. Is there a safe way to do it (i.e. "flash" (right?) the Rom of the French unit to an English (Orange?) Rom (I am aware I might loose the warranty but I don't care as long as I don't lock/burn the Pdaphone (but I am willing to take the chance).
2. Where do I find the rom, the tools and the procedure (I guess here on this forum?) or even better, a tutorial about how to do it?
Your help and tips are *really* and greatly appreciated.

I was directed to this website from somewhere, with only the knowledge that my phone is a 'Universal'. I currently want to upgrade its OS to WM6, but i have no idea how or what actual version to put on. Theres an overwhelming amount of ROM's and i have no idea which one to use, or if they will even work with my phone let alone my provider.
Can someone please help me out?

A month ago I bought a Q-Tek A9100 phone, with Windows Mobile 6.0. I am really pleased with this phone. But, my brother who lives in the USA, sent me 2 days ago the AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 5.0.
At first sight, the AT&T device has some things better than the Q-Tek (Camera, Processor, Weight, Design), but I'm not sure which one should I keep for myself, because the Q-tek has WM 6.0, and I have read here that you know a way to upgrade it, is it possibble?
I hope i'm not wasting your time, it's just that I'm a newbie on this stuff, here in Latin America is not easy to find the needed help about this devices even though they're bought frequently.. Your comment would help me a lot!

Well.first of all I wud like to give an advise that never post your e-mail in any post ,as it'll get spammed,post your email addy only in your profile for safe custody.
secondly,YUP! it's very much possible to upgrade your AT&T 85225 (Hermes) to wm6 without any problem.
For unlocking and upgrade read the sub forum for Hermes Mobile at the below link.

I would like 2 now if there is anyone who can help me with an MDA T-Mobile i bought from Holland, i would like to put windows mobile on it becouse it's in Dutch the curent version(+ i want a newer version) and i have no real clue on how 2 do that, what programs i need, witch ones are better suited for my model and where EXACTLY to get them, i will anctiously wait for a reply or PM, thank'u in advance ^__^

Please read here in order to learn the process of flashing a ROM, then enter to your device section and coose the ROM that fits your needs
You can find wm5, 6, 6.1 and even 6.5

First you need to know if you have a CDMA device or a GSM one (with SIM card)
Then what OS want WM or Android

first of all, thank you for your reply; no one has replyed since ages... i think it is GSM, i bought it from Orange Romania and it works with a SIM. i have windows 6.1 , an i like the fact that i can edit word documents and so on... i know nothing about the android but i would like to change my rom/software for better battery and performance (it kinda laggs although the memory is at 39% and the windows 6.1 interface is.... -.- horrible to say the leaast)
i would like a guide for stupid people that have never had the chance to temper with their phones software.
