I Need Help Localing A Cab

Ok I have a tilt and a 8525. On my 8525 I have flash it with PV DVH BUILD19202. Alright now this rom has a missed call and mail(email,text) feature that I've never seen in a Kaiser rom. When you get a message you get a mail envelope icon and when there's a missed call there's a phone icon. What I like about it most is when you click on the mail it opens up big and its only that message that you see. I tried to run a search but when you don't know what there called it hard to find what your looking for. I would like to put on my tilt. Here are some screen shots:

Need a screenshot. Try a different image format. jpg or png maybe.

You managed to flash a ROM so you should be skilled enough to compress or change the format of a picture. Is there a Wiki on this to help this person out?

Thanks I changed it screen shots are up. Sorry I'm at work so I had alot of thing going on I just stop thinkin. lol

Your right that did sound kinda stupid didn't it forget me. Sometimes you really need to just slow down and take a moment to think.

yea whatever that application is it looks kinda cool and useful. Does it do anything else?

Look in your today screen plugins and see what is listed. Check your programs to.
Under Settings / Today / Items, what is checked off? I haven't seen this ether.

yes please inform us what it is when u find out. I would like to test that app on my device. I searched your build but couldn't put my finger on what program it is.

try using those screenshots in the forum related to the phone you had the application on. Then come back and report here when someone answers you.

OK I'm doing it know. I will report back with some info.

ZoomSMS.cab ...... does this work on htc 8525 (AT&T 8525)..can you explain what this really does.....noob here,lol

i wouldn't recommend installing it. It completely fk'd up my device and a lot of settings.

Please elaborate on what this did to your device. Did you install to memory card or phone memory?

Yes this is cook into the rom on my 8525. I just put it on my tilt and it work perfect with no issues.

Dude basically its to me a better way to view your mail. Thats what I use it for.

Facebook

I was woundering the Facebook app that came with the HTC is crap imo you can't see all the posts that people post on your status....
Anyone tell me why and advice me something else?

I also would like to know how?, I dont want change the original ROM.

Im afraid thats the best you will get for now unless you just use the facebook mobile or facebook touch site on your phone. Just save it as a favourite in the internet tab.

use m.facebook.com with your browser, so much better and easier!

Yes there is a better one, if you download o!market free software program, once this is done then search for ' Official facebook app' this one is just like the PC version.

Yeah I really was surprised when I received my HD2 on release day and it had the older version of Facebook. I was glad that HSPL was released the next day so I could have the newer version cooked in. I know that that there is the Cab but apps always work better when cooked in.

Optionally download new version 1.2 and it replaces existing facebook.exe file adn u can see the comments and its faster too. I am using the replaced version

Were can I download this from?

Download Omarket .. then searcb for the official facebook app , it works great.

i just use FIM (facebook instant messenger) works like a charm and has m.facebook integrated into it

I dont know what they are talking about. I downloaded just what they said from the omarket place and its the exact same thing.
Actually, it's the one on omarket is version 1.7, while microsoft marketplace has 1.2

You're right lol, I'm just going to use m.facebook.com its just as good and it does not take ages to load pictures.

FIM is great!!! Chat works really well, you get Notifications, Status Updates, Photos - everything!!! I wouldnt waste my time with the MS one, its completely useless in comparison.

[Q] Footprints Program

I know this sounds strange, but I really like the footprints program. Honestly, its one of the reasons, I stay with HTC. Anyway, in the users manual it says that it is included. It also tells you how to use it, but I cannot find these options anywhere on my phone. Are you also missing HTC Footprints program? Or do I just need to reset to get it back. Can someone tell me if you have footprints or not?

i had the same issue when i got my phone yesterday
turns out they have folded in footprints into 'Locations'
if you open up locations there is a slidebar at the bottom to go to Footprints

it is an app that comes pre-installed
look for 'Locations' in the application list
it has an icon that looks like a Red Pin sticking in a map.

Maybe some magic will be worked after permanent root/bootloader is unlocked. Locations looks cool, and it makes me sad that Locations isn't on the US phone.

well look on the bright side, at least locations doesn't mess up your Calendar and Contacts integration with google maps!
now if i ever click on the location button in calendar it opens HTC Locations insted of google maps and it can never find the address i entered! It is terrible that i can't set google maps to do it instead

This is just a little app i wrote to annoy someone, and i may as well share it, Since i am using this to gain experience please let me know of any bugs, and i will try and fix them. (Please share a screenshot of the problem if its a cosmetic bug)
The app will update automatically, it will ask for you to download the new APK.
The Biggest bug at the moment is loading in contacts, It does work if you press the menu button and click import wait a minute and it will work. Always click "wait" it does work, and it only has to be done once it saves it after this.:fingers-crossed:

I have a great one that I downloaded a long time ago, can send you the .apk if you want, you could get some ideas on how the contacts works.

[Q] Old Gmail on ICS

I already searched on here, and someone asked this before but got no reply.
I want to uninstall Gmail 4.7.1 from my Kyocera Rise that's running ICS, and install the older Gmail 2.3.4.1 on it. Has anyone else done this before? Any idea if it'll work?
I want to do this because 2.3.4.1 is what my old phone (was running Gingerbread) had on it. I don't like the newer Gmail app, IMO they made it harder to read and navigate. I find myself using my old phone just to check my email, because its less annoying. It'd be awesome if the older app were to work on here.

Welcome to Xda, you will see that this happens allot here and i wish everyone could get the help they deserve but most of the time they don't as for your problem, you could google Gmail 2.3.4.1 apk and might be able to find someone who mirrored that like you can try here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1181033 download that file from your phone or computer and find it and install it. it might not work because google sorta wants us to use newer versions of their apps but if it does you need to turn off the auto update so it wont. good luck and welcome to XDA!

Hello, thanks. I've been a lurker on here for a while, but I have no experience asking my own questions here.
Yup, I did that, I downloaded an .apk of 2.3.4.1. I was asking on here to try and find out if attempting this would even work.... in my research I can't find anything on whether something like this for Gingerbread will work correctly in ICS. It looks like I have to root to even remove Gmail 4.7.1 so that's why I was asking before getting into this.

The reason why you can't completely uninstall it is because it's a system app. So yes you would have to root to remove it
