WLAN Manager - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi!
My university uses advanced settings for connections to WLAN.
Anyone familiar with an app that gives me more options?
Thank you.

Have you tried the Windows Mobile Native connection wizard/settings? Rather than the HTC one?
There are more options available that way.

how shuold it work with "Windows Mobile Native connection wizard"? Where do find this?

When in Comm Manager (Wireless Controls) Tap Wifi then Advanced, this takes you to the Windows Mobile part of the wifi setting where there are more options and settings. These may not be what your after but I don't see what else you would need to connect to a wifi network.
Hope this helps.

Vista Connection Problems

Does anyone else have problems with Windows Mobile Centre just not connecting to their device? Looking in Device Manager, it recognises it as an 'MS Windows Mobile Remote Adapter' but not as a mobile device?
I was hoping to flash it soon, but this is rather a problem if Vista wont connect with it
Try going into settings/connection tab/USB to PC/uncheck the box "enable advanced network functionality".
plz post results if it worked.
I'm sorry, Settings on what? On WMDC the settings has no tabs...
That setting is on the device: start, settings, connection tab, usb-to-pc
By unticking it, you change the connection from an IP one to a USB one (and hence remove possible firewall problems from the equation).
The other thing to try is to remove the device pin lock setting and then connect .

auto connecting to network access point (x51v)

Hi -- I'm trying to get my x51v to automatically connect to my Kaiser phone to receive internet sharing. It seems like there are more steps than there should be to connect each time -- turn on internet sharing on the Kaiser; then navigate to Bluetooth shortcuts on the x51v, select the Kaiser "Network Access Point" and click connect. Does anyone know any way to automate this? At the very least, it seems like it should be possible to tell the x51v to automatically look to the Kaiser whenever it needs to connect to the internet (in lieu of an active WiFi connection) but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Are you using the widcomm bluetooth stack or the standard MS stack?
Have you tried to create a connection under Settings/Connections/My ISP/Add New and point it to bluetooth?

Thanks so much for the response -- I've got the Widcomm stack, and I should mention also that I'm using Windows Mobile 6 (on both devices). I'm not seeing this "My ISP" link under Settings/Connections. Is that what I need to find? And where is it? I did this by making a new shortcut in the Bluetooth Manager, selecting the ""Explore a Bluetooth device" option, then picking the "Network Access Point" service from the "Service Selection" window that came up when I selected my Kaiser as the device to explore.
When I look at the shortcut's properties, "Default" is checked; the system doesn't know to automatically try to connect to it when it wants an internet connection (in lieu of an active WiFi link), which is what I'd like it to do.
Thanks again!

WiFi - Weird issue with HTC Fuze

Alright, so recently my HTC Fuze has been randomly denying any wireless connection only when it's connected to my computer. When its running on battery, it connects to my wireless router just fine. Is this just some issue with Windows Mobile? Before; I never had this issue.. Help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Phone Specs:
HTC Fuze
RRE Series 6 WM 6.5 21215 build 21215.5.0 RC3
Radio 1.14.25.05
My router is an Asus wl-500g Premium 2 running DD-WRT eko svn build 12030(4/30/09).
there's definitely an option for this somewhere on teh phone. i sadly can't find it right now but it's definitely something you can change. by default it's set to not allow any other connections while you're connected to your pc via activesync.
does anyone else remember where to find this setting?

Got it! Thanks. All I had to do was go into Windows Mobile Device center, under mobile device settings click "Connection Settings", and enable data connections.

Internet Sharing on Palm Treo 500v with SyncMate

Hey there,
i own a treo 500v with a cooked rom (my_rose 6.1[en]) running windows 6.1 standard. Im using a mac, thats why i have Syncmate running for sync options. Syncmate also supports internet sharing over USB to PC, means that i can use my mac internet connection for my treo 500, because i dont own a data plan.
Now the problem:
It is a pretty weird situation. The cooked rom contains the HTC HOME homescreen, containing a weather widget. As soon as im connecting to Syncmate over USB my weather widget is able to get the latest information from the web! This indicates, that there is clearly a working internet connection. Never the less, this is the only thing that works. I cant use Internet Explorer, nor the E-Mail Option of WinMo to receive my Mails. I also tried Opera Mini (Java), but it also fails to connect to the internet.
Im always referred to the Connections Settings of my mobile phone. To be honest, i have no clue how to properly set this up. So i wondered if here might be someone around who knows how it works right.
Thanks for all your help.
Cheers
chillar
Hi Chillar! There is no need to adjust any settings on you phone, it is enough to connect your mobile device with the Mac via USB and Internet will be shared automatically.
If this doesn't happen, then, please, try the following:
1. On your mobile device go to Start -> Settings -> "Connections" tab -> Connections and check which connections are listed in "My Internet" section. If there are any Internet connections via cellular network, please, disable or delete them.
2. As an option, please, try to reinstall SyncMate driver on your mobile device as follows:
- Go to Remove programs application
- Choose SyncMate driver and press Remove
- Reboot your mobile device
- Reconnect your phone to your Mac via USB
3. If the above still doesn't help, then please, try to open any web page on your mobile device - for instance google.com - and let us know (contacts us at [email protected]) what message you receive from the browser on your mobile device in return.
Have a perfect day!

HD2 as internet source through WLAN?

I wonder if there's any app/program that can make me use my HD2 as a internet source through WLAN? I've already searched the forum for this kind of question without sucess, so now I wonder if this option are availible in the HD2 or if someone could make a app for that.
And if it is availible as a option in the HD2, I'd really need some instructions.

theres a program called wifi router in the phone. where you can connect your laptop or pc too and use your data connection to access the internet.

Yes. I know that =) But with WiFi router I can't use WLAN as a internet source right?
So what do you want?
HSDPA --> HD2 --> wifi --> laptop?
Wifi --> HD2 --> wifi/usb --> laptop?
I think it's the latter.
You can connect your HD2 to an access point. However, then it is in infrastructure mode. It only has one radio with no virtual radio option. You cannot connect to a WLAN network AND simultaneously broadcast your own ad-hoc one.
However, you can connect the device to a WLAN network and connect it via usb to a laptop and then when it connects select 'internet modem' out of active sync and disk drive on the menu that appears on the phone.
Then disable the phone in commanager to force it to use wifi.
His question isn't clear at all, but I presume it's rather Wifi->HD2->laptop via USB, i.e make a USB Wifi dongle. In that case, WMWifirouter can do it.

as soon as he plugs in the HD2 via usb it will offer the 'use phone as gateway' option. no need to dialup I think. i havent tested it tho.
your laptop has no Wife function ?
perhaps he has another need for a second wifi card...yes, you techies know why you would need more than one wifi device or mac address...tehee, yes you do
Enchanter has a point though - why not get a usb dongle or pcmcia stick?
Better performance, less heat/strain on phone.

Look for Wifi Remote Access. Turns HD2 into something like a web server. You can browse and upload files to it from any other computer.
Okay thank you, and yes i mean Wifi --> HD2 --> wifi/usb --> laptop/PC.
Need it because of my wifi card is broken, and sometimes it is really usefull to have something like this.
And thank you all =) Will try what you recommended.
