Hey guys,
I posted a little teaser for my skin/theme, and I've got some pretty positive feedback/lots of traffic to my site. I have now released the theme in it's entirety, and it is available on my site for which you can find the link at the bottom of this post.
Lots of time and development have been put into creating this, and I couldn't have done it without the majority of graphics from Corleno. Thanks to him for allowing me to 'remix' his Wisbar Advance theme, "Vista Pocket".
Anyways, take a look at the pics below, and find a link to the download at my site. Sorry I did not post the actual files here, but posting it on my own site will allow me to update the theme easily if need be, and people from many other sites can comment on it there too. I really hope you enjoy this, as it took me much longer than it should have! (I'm not surprised, because I'm a pixel-perfectionist)

(P.S. - HTC PLEASE RELEASE THE OMNI! Us Universal owners deserve a respectable successor!!)
ok dude, i'm impressed! One question though, http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/ have two softwares listed:
1) Wisbar Advance 3.1.0.4
2) Wisbar Advance Desktop 1.3.0.7
Which one of these is required on my JASJAR to have your theme installed and fully functional?!?

Hey man, glad you enjoy the theme. You actually need both of the software titles that you mentioned above. "Wisbar Advance (WA)" AND "Wisbar Advance Desktop (WAD)". That version of WAD should give you no problems, however I built and test this theme only on WA v2, and not the newest v3. I'm sure that it will work in v3, since I don't believe anything major has changed, however I cannot guarantee that since I only tested it with v2.
If you do try out v3, please let us know how it works.
Thanks!

Hi /b/-TarD,
That's actually a great question you ask. I have never had any memory issues with my Uni while running this theme. I also just checked my current memory status after a fresh reboot, and "DesktopApp.exe" (Wisbar Advance Desktop) is using 2.56mb of RAM, while "wisbaradv2.exe" (Wisbar Advance) is using 303kb of RAM.
This makes sense to me because the WAD theme is much more detailed and has larger graphics than the WA skin. For me, its worth sacrificing 2.9mb of RAM to run this theme set. I hope you'll agree too
Let me know if you do run into any issues with RAM usage, but I can tell you that everything works fine for me!
this is a great skin however i have had a few problems, not sure if it is the skin or my setings, i am using it on a SPV M5000 running WAD and WA2, not had issues with other sking but my machine keeps on "freezing" after a short while and the only way to respore it is to so a soft reset and load the skin up again. WAD and WA2 are installed to my SD card, dont think that that is the problem though
Any idea's ....????????

Hey Hooperman, I would have personally installed WA + WAD to the Main Memory and NOT the Storage Card. I know this requires a fair bit of free space in the Main Memory, but WA + WAD will definitely respond faster and keep running optimally.
My theme has been downloaded a sh*tload of times, and I haven't heard anyone else with your problems, so I would think that having your WA/WAD on the Storage Card is definitely the issue.
If you have the space, try installing WA/WAD to the Main Memory and let us know how it goes...
Hope this helps!

Hi azzkicker, I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. It's quite unfortunate that the WAD skin is not working for you. Not to single you out, but no one else has contacted me with the issues you are having, which leads me to believe that you just haven't copied the folder structures properly.
Read my blog post again here, and make sure that you copy each of the files/folders EXACTLY where I described in that post.
Hope this helps!

It looks very sexy!
Hope you don't mind
scar45,
I happened upon your post last night and I have to tell you this is one awesome theme! I hope you don't mind, but I modified it for QVGA. I've only completed the portrait_QVGA so far, but I'm working on the landscape tonight or maybe tomorrow. Here's what it looks like on my Wizard......

Hey there kcguy,
First off, let me say that I have no problem with you creating a QVGA version of my theme. I just request that you keep all graphics as high-quality as you can, so that the theme doesn't lose it's visual appeal.
Also, please just send me a private message before you release the theme, so that we can ensure that everyone who participated in it's development is credited properly. I can also (and prefer to) host the QVGA version for you on my protogenLabs.com website.
Let me know how it's coming along, and if the above sounds good to you. Looking forward to seeing your work!

not a problem
scar45,
I didn't modify any of your graphics, only edited the sizes to fit the QVGA format. I'd be happy to send it to you so you can release it. That is the way it should be, since a lot of effort went into the design.
I have modified the landscape files also, but have had no success getting it to display when I'm in landscape mode. My wizard switches from portrait to landscape when you slide the qwerty out. Any ideas why it won't display? Only displays the default wisbar desktop theme in landscape, but instantly goes back to your theme when I close the keyboard and go back to portrait mode.
kcguy, can you post your qvga format? I would like to try this on my HTC hermes. Thanks.

hey kcguy,
Thanks for the effort you've put into making a QVGA version of my theme. I'm not sure why the landscape mode won't work, as I didn't run into the same problem as you. What I might suggest is to put the device in landscape mode, then try to re-select the landscape version of the theme, and hopefully it will stick (vistaMobile_L_(Q)VGA).
Anyways, let me know when you've completed the theme, and please send this to no one else but myself first, and following that, I will package it up for download and host it on my site.
Hope it's still coming along nicely!
-scar
It's complete
Hey scar45,
I don't know what the issue is with the landscape mode, but I have a work- around, if anybody else has the same issue. On my wizard, I had to open the landscape QVGA while in portrait mode on my phone as well as WAD. I then rotated the screne 90 deg. to the right so it displayed properly, opened my qwerty which switched the device to landscape mode, and no more problems. When you receive the zip file back, you'll notice that p_QVGA now shows two pages, 0 & 1 which I assume is because I opened the L_QVGA in portrait mode, but for whatever reason, it now works perfectly. I am trying to send you the files as we speak so you can take a look and decide if you want to release them. Thanks for the awesome theme!

Heya soalle,
At this point, I would say that this theme is not possible to use on a Smartphone QVGA device. The main core of the theme is based on Wisbar Advance/Wisbar Advance Desktop, and I don't believe that this program is available for the Smartphone version of Windows Mobile.
I wish there was a way that I could develop it for that, but unfortunately there isn't at this point in time.
I will be releasing kcguy's QVGA version of my theme for PocketPCs, so if you obtain one of those devices (or better yet, a VGA PPC), then you would be able to use this theme set.
Keep an eye out on this post though, and if anyone finds a way to make this theme usable on a Smartphone QVGA device, it will surely be posted here.
Thanks!

I think it should suffice to let the grid of icon be browsed with the smartphone joystick but I have no clue how to do it ;-)
Hey guys, I just wanted to *bump* this message up because thanks to kcguy (and some further configuring by me), my VistaMobile theme has now been released in a QVGA format!
A LOT of people had been asking for this version after I released the original, so after some time, and some help from kcguy, I was able to rewrite the theme to support QVGA devices.
I have tested it out on my QVGA Pocket PC Emulator, and it seemed to work perfectly fine. If anyone else runs into any issues, please post them in this thread, and I'll do my best to address them as soon as I possibly can. You might get a quicker response if you post an actual comment to my protogenLabs site where the file is hosted.
You can grab the actual .zip file here:

Anyways, Merry Xmas to all, and I hope you enjoy!

Hello,
I wonder if anyone is able to/wants to help me?
I am looking for confirmation of the manila file names for CHT 1.8... (I have been browsing the forum but can only find cabs and not the file names for this)
I have been looking through the files by using cfc-gui but I can’t confidently identify the right files!!
I just want to personalise my own files, initially to achieve a transparent home screen, but ongoing to something else.
The clock files are identified on the CHT thread, but not the bars/panels.
I think I have identified the following files (for not-pressed bars), but on modifying them and loading them onto the phone (in the Windows folder, and then restarting manila, and also soft resetting) they don’t all seem to change as I expected.
These ones do work:
0B7F6995_manila = appointment expand/pull-down grip
30D807DA_manila = thin bar with rounded corners to ‘finish’ lower appointment
0d61c97c_manila = date bar
740dc76b_manila = alarm bar
These ones don’t work:
43A0289_manila = appointment list bar
77BAF4F0_manila = notifications full bar
(if these aren’t what I think they are, then what have I changed by modding these files??!!)
I can see from various mods on this forum that people are able to change the files I want to work with, so I must just be playing with the wrong files.
Any help would be good, and it’ll save me time by further searching many pages of the forum and struggling to identify the files in the Windows folder (which is proving very difficult it seems).
Thank you.
it would be good if there was a manila library on here somewhere - cfc-gui is a really good tool, but it's just not doing a proper job for me on this occasion!!!
PS: I have current version 1.66 standard UK ROM on HD2, non-network specific. My CHT 1.8 is working fine, no issues, I just want to mod it a bit!
Agree with the above would be good if there was a list available as took me ages just to find the default cover art for music and couldn't find the mini music player background. I'm using cfc-gui as well and there's as many/if not more files under unknown as there are with headers which makes it really difficult. I've just been going through them 1 by 1 and I'm going to try edit a few on the weekend so will let you know what I find.
Cheers - any help on this would be appreciated. There are loads of mods for this already, but not many sharing info!!
I'll keep on looking...
In the meantime, if anyone else can assist - much appreciated it will be!
If anyone is interested, I found what I was looking for:
10376502_manila = notifications bar
438A0283_manila = appointments bar
I've attached all of these files as transparent in the .zip below. The only one that isn't fully transparent is the pull-down grip which I have added little grip dots to it so you know where it is, otherwise transparent.
** Back-up original files from the Windows folder before overwriting! **
the clock white background remains white, Any updates of others ?
nice work, i liked it, when ever I flash a new rom I was installing transparencies.. not anymore...
I hope you keep up with this threat...
can you show a picture of this please!!
many people will be much help if you put screenshot..if you ask someone's help try to help someone also and someone will apreciate yours

why dont you share these info with them ...
Is something being requested in the posts above?
I can't quite work out what it is - is it a transparent clock? - if so, which sort?
Aren't there plenty of clocks for CHT on XDA already, do they not work?

Depending on which files you edited..... you might be able to get them back by installing/uninstalling/reinstalling CHT..... maybe.....
Which particular files do you need...??
if by chance I have them backed up Ill post them for you... I dont have that many though....
There is a link in the FAQ section of the CHT thread's main post from Co0kie, for transparencies and some graphics restore cabs.
That should help answer some of your questions.
If you have any other questions still after looking at those cabs and files, let me know.
You can go directly to that thread to the first post where the link is, by clicking the CHT banner in my sig., or clicking the link above will take you there directly.
thanks for the responce guys! i'm actually not sure what manilla files they are lol, i just know there the ones which make the calendar and call history transparent. i've tried re-installing CHT but transparency is still there, it wasnt a cab see. i overwritten the original files with zip file on page one. but would like the glass panel look which dinik created. installing dinik theme the transparent calendar/call history is still there. someone who backed up the manila files before installing that zip file could help... were are they!! lol

I have attached the original files that you highlighted a couple of posts above...
in the zip file are the original files if you want to drop them in manually, or a cab file for if you want to do it the easy way - all it does is place the two manila files in the windows folder, and it's not going to appear in the applications list either (you can't 'uninstall it'), its a one-way cab.
Thanks for all your help guys but looks like its not to be. they were the right manila files but after getting rid of the transparency`s and installing diniks theme everything has the glass panels but calender/call history. maybe the rom i`m using is affecting the theme (cleanex rom). but again thanks for your help guys.

You would most likely have to edit one of the .dll files.. which would take even more time just to search for the how-to on that. But you can check here to see if there's and easy tweak, and here to see if manila files are involved
But the easiest way to find the answer, and always is, the search bar

The small clock in the taskbar is a WinMo 6.5.x item/issue, so probably you'll have to be in that forum section with your question.
regards, Kuzibri
As previous posters stated - it cannot be done in an easy way via registry editing. To give example - the battery taskbar icons are included in one of the .dll files in Windows folder, so changing their looks requires .dll editing - which can be done (you can search this forum for 'custom taskbar'), but sometimes has unpleasant side-effect as disappearance of volume slider.
Having said that, I'd suggest excellent BattClock by - which can provide you a clock color of your choosing and lots of other stuff
[disregard, accidental double post, is there any way to delete a message?]

Hi p107r0,
Well, I appreciate your explanation, but I thought it might be somewhat similar way to that described by Ephestione in his useful thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698616
Also, I appreciate your suggestion about BattClock which is very good, but personally I like the simplicity and nice look of the Battline one and unfortunately there is a kind of conflict between those programs.

Hi community,
First of all, it's great to be on baord, and this seems an awesome community.
Now to my stupid question.....
I found this webpage whilst I was at work on Friday. Whilst browsing, I found a theme that I would like for my LEO, but I did not bookmark the page (stupid for an IT professional)
Anyway, I was hoping somebody might be able to help me; what I can say is that it was a "minimalist" theme, with very few buttons, a small on screen digital clock, and it had what I would refer to as an "electric blue" background....just blue, no images, actually the same shade of blue as my Honda
So, if anybody can point me in the right direction, I appreciate it. Once again, sorry for my stupidity.
I think this isn't it but it comes close... probably?
best regards,
Myrixamophit
Thanks, but that is not the one
Incredibly, it is even simpler than that! I cannot remember the name of the person that posted it, but I scrolling through the forum now, because I know that as soon as I see the name again, I will recognise it.
Thank you once again
lots of "lite" themes possible with CHT 2.0....
but have you tried looking in your browser's history? (you probably have...but thought i would ask!)
I have looked through my cache; but at work, system automatically clears it.
BUT, I remembered today, was a few pages forward from a "wooden theme" that a developer did by using a shelf from Ikea....lol.
Wonder if this will help?

I've accepted the fact now that perhaps somebody has removed the theme that I wanted. Perhaps it was a photoshop job? I've read that people do that sometimes.
New problem now....lol
Last night, I installed a theme, and tried to install it on my device, but the device complained about lack of space (I have Duttys ROM installed). So, can I install on the memory card (16gb)?
Thanks guys.
err.. don't know for sure but Blue SK-i was the first theme that came into my mind when I read your description
Hello xda,
Before I get to the point, I'd like to thank this awesome community for the astonishing amount of custom content made available to everyday guys like myself.
