Transcend 8GB SDHC wont read - Touch Pro, Fuze General

hey guys, i just received my 8gb transcend class 6 sdhc card and when i plugged it in, the phone wont recognize it, it can read my micro sd 1gb Sandisk but not my new SDHC one.
ive seen many people using this transcend card on their raphs and had no problems, can anyone help me out? its driving me nuts cuz i cant find a solution whenever i search

I had the same exact problem. Bought an 8gb transcend for my phone and it refused to recognize it. Tried a few different rom's as well. I searched and searched and didn't get any solid answers, but did find a few forums where other users had the same exact problem. I chalked it up to the combination of a cheap card and a cheap reader, and for whatever reason they don't work. If you happen to find a solution, please share it. As I currently have a 8gb sitting around doing nothing, since I have no other microsdhc devices to try it in!

UPDATE: ok soo i put the SDHC card into my friends Tmobile Wing and it read it just fine, i got mine to work but i have to soft reset or take out the card, even if that helped it was a temporary fix and the problem would come back!
is there a solution or fix for this? i really need ur help guys

Touch Pro not recognising my 8gb Micro SDHC Card

I have just taken delivery of my Touch Pro. I inserted my 8GB into slot (correctly) however, when I go to memory/storage card it says not installed.
Any comments, help or ideas most welcome. The card is Sandisk and was working in the phone I took it out of.
How is the card formatted, what phone did you use it in?
likely the card... but try another?
i just put a 16Gb micro sdhc in yesterday after direct copy from my 2Gb to the 16Gb, popped it in and it was fine (had to reinstall iGo but nothing else needed to be done with all other apps installed in phone memory)
Sounds like it needs formatting perhaps? Hard to think what else could be going on there, but TP took my 8GB card without problems, and is now running with my 16GB card without problems.
like a few other people said already...formatting...that should do it!
I did excatly the same thing with a 8GB Sandisk Ultra. It worked first time no problem.
There are A LOT of fakes on eBay which are incredibly hard to distinguish - I got a Sony Memory Stick that just had lots of write and read errors and just stopped working. You might wanna check if the problem persists.

Place it in a computer, right click over the drive icon, format.
I formatted my Touch Pro 2 with Fat32 format, and it will only see 8G and it's a 16G. What's the deal?

corrupted my 8GB Sandisk Ultra II after 3 days of use.
The card could be read INSIDE of my Raphael but not on my PC with different card readers. This would be a minor problem but my Raphael also destroyed randomly files on the card too.
I thought the Micro SDHC Card was defective and send it back.
Now I own a Sandisk 16GB Card and it got also courrupted in like 2 days of use.
Some file from my *Notes* was thrashed and other files followed.
Raphael will try to open the file and then stay busy. After like 20 seconds a message containing "There is not enough memory " pop up... (150MB free ram should be enough to open a 2 kb Notes-file )
Wierd thing -> My *old* Sandisk 6 GB MicroSDHC Card I own for more than half a year now works flawlessly... (Till yet )
Someone here got the same experiences ?
Someone got some advice for me ?
I read something about updated SD sdrivers from member Tucan which he cooked into a german stock rom. Are they any good for me ?
Is there a Rom which should solve my problems ?
Help will be really appreciated !!
im sorry but the new memory you have must be fake, that explains why it works with your old mem, and why after sending it back, the same place sent you another fake.
Oh lord here we go, I just ordered my 8gb MicroSDHC card from newegg since the Fuze will be out soon I hope this isn't a common problem.
I corrupted my 8GB once, but by my own fault. I was in the middle of a transfer and was connected as a hard drive, not through activesync, and hit the power button which disconnected it from the computer. I hooked it up as a hard drive again, went into windows and reformatted the MicroSD... No issues from then on.

I ordered both cards from completly different places, so that is unlikely.
They did work normaly (some days) even on my PC, so I guess it is my Raph which corrupted them

I´m always *releasing* my harddrives/cards (on my PC) with the icon in the lower right corner to be save from what you experienced.
Oh man. I have the 16GB Card sitting here and cant use it... I will try it in my old XDA Trion (aka Hermes) for the next days ...
Anyway thanks for your replys !
Someone else has some thoughts about the problem ?
Maybe it has something to do with all the powersaving *features* beeing enabled through -Advanced Config 3.2- and -Diamond Tweak- ?
Well I'm using the same rom as you and was using an 8gb Sandisk card until I got a 16gb Sandisk card and both work flawlessly I'm afraid. I have also applied the power saving tweaks you mention with no ill effect.
using 8gb for about a month now, no problems at all.
Oh, I should mention I've heard many people talk about how there were a lot of Tilts that corrupted MicroSD cards. It was a flaw from the factory, apparently affected a number of them. I wouldn't be surprised of HTC saw some of the same issues with the Fuze, knowing all of the issues they've had already.
My 8gb card works just fine.
For reference, I'm using an A-DATA Class-6 8gb microSD purchased from NewEgg. Cheap, fast, reliable, perfect.
16gb bog standard San Disk Micro SD is working fine at the moment.
Formatted using Panasonic's SD Formatter as I corrupted it before I even put it in the Pro.
my 8GB works fine too
Maybe if everybody posts the brand name of their cards we can determine if this has something to do with the issues.
I remember with my Hermes I had to get a specific brand and produced from a certain plant to not have any issues. I still have my Kingston Micro SD from the Japan plant with no issues.
Using 8Gb and 16Gb of Sandisk with no probs on my Touch Pro.
Hi,
I may be barking up the wrong tree here but are you sure you have not enabled the Encryption setting under Settings. This will encrypt the storage card so it can only be read from the phone. Removing the card and placing in a PC or Laptop would show up as corrupted.
I selected it by mistake once and it corrupted my folder tree and showed garbage.
Not saying this is what is up but is worth looking at.
Personally I have a 16GB SanDisk card in my Touch Pro and it been OK. Been running for about 3 weeks now.
John
maybe the cardreaders from youre PC are not compatible with sdhc.
This is redundand and it may be opinion but im looking into buying a class 6 8gig. Is adata reliable? What company is the best in your opinions for what im looking for. Fastest?

Sandisk. Always. Forever. For my memory cards at least
FYI...
I put a 16Gb Sandisk in my TP on monday (5 days ago)... not a single problem with it and no corrupted files either.
I was previously using my 4Gb Sandisk card from my old Kaiser... which also worked perfectly fine.
Had a Sandisk 8GB card in mine, no problems. Now have a 16GB Sandisk, no problems.
For me I'll buy Sandisk, and only Sandisk, for my memory cards.
I have the very chip you described in my kaiser (class 6 a-data 8gb) runs without a problem. I've never really had much problems with microsd chips but I gotta admit I got a little worries when this thread poped up not so much about the chip but the phone itself, I've never had a bad chip in my life bought about 20 or so thus far, the a-data does well in terms of speed nothing to be excisted about but for it's class and size it holds its own.

8GB Transcend SDHC not working in Fuze

Ok, so I just bought an 8GB Transcend SDHC Class 6 from Amazon. My Fuze (with default ATT rom) won't recognize it, but my friend's Verizon Touch Pro does. It also works in my laptops SD slot with the adapter. I tried formatting it, but my phone still doesn't see it. I tried googling for help, but the only thing I found is wm5/6 having issues with SDHC. The Fuze is supposed to be compatible, right?
Is there anything you guys could would suggest? I found a SDHC.cab file, but it doesn't do anything.
-nate
also, my 2GB Kingston works fine.
I have found Transcend SDs to be iffy.
I've been using a Transcend Class 6 microSDHC card that I purchased from Newegg (with miniature USB reader) since day one with my Fuze, hasn't missed a beat. Sounds like you may just have a faulty one.
This is what I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208460
same problem here, please help ..........
Using a Transcend 8GB Micro here no probs at all!! Been using for months I'd say

So here's what I tested:
I bought 2 of the Transcend 8GB C6 cards.
Neither card worked in my Fuze or my bosses Fuze.
Both cards worked in a Verizon Touch Pro.
Both cards worked in multiple Verizon 6800's.
I found a friend with a Trans 8GB CLASS 4 card, it works in my phone.
I sold one of the class 6 cards and traded the other to my friend.
Oh also mine does say C6 on it, or more specifically a 6 with a C around it!
Thanks
JFlitt
Sandisk is the only way to go..pretty cheap on Amazon
You know just for the hell of it, one of you guys w/ the 8gb card should dl and try the Panasonic SD formatter program. Google it. I have one that just says V2.
I had weird issues w/ a 4 gig card, reformatted it numerous times, w/ numerous programs nothing worked until this panasonic program i found.
SDFormatter V.2
My 8GB Transcend Class 6 works great in my FUZE. What I found interesting is that I bought an 8GB Transcend in November for $16 and another in January for $15 but now they cost $21! How does the price RISE $6 in 6 months? I think there is something fishy going on in flash memory prices. They had working 32GB prototype cards a year ago yet they still are not out.
it could be putting the storage card at the bottom of the list in file explorer. you made sure it wasnt there by looking at the storage card tab under memory settings right?
Trying it Now

Tried 1. quick format, format size adjustment off- no luck
now trying 2. full format(flash erase on), format size adjustment off- no luck
Maybe something like this would work:

I've got the same card with the same problem. The card actually worked for the first time, but after flashing a new ROM onto the device, the storage card was no longer accessible from the phone itself while it is from card reader. Formatting does nothing.
I had an issue like this once with SD cards on a Dell Axim but it turned out to be the fault of the WMDRM folder--which isn't the case here since the card is empty now.
Is there some other method in which the device locks the card?
Just wanted to throw my two cents in. I bought two Transcend 4gb class 6 SDHC cards, both of which worked find in my computer and camera, but neither worked in my Fuze. I ended up buying a Sandisk card which is working famously in my device. However, it is only a Class 4 card... Hey, as long as I can save and playback video to it without interruption, I'm happy.

So it stopped working after flashing a new ROM? Have you tried going back or flashing a different ROM? It could be a problem with the ROM if the problem started happening after you flashed a new ROM.

I've gone back to that ROM with no success and on to different ROMs with no luck. Changing Device ID doesn't seem to help.
I will try that format utility when I get home.
My 64MB Sandisk works fine however.
The only way to access the 8GB Transcend card is to install wm5torage and use the phone as a reader, so it's not a hardware issue. The storage card itself cannot be viewed in File Explorer/TC or through ActiveSync--basically WM refuses to acknowledge its existence.
No deal with the Panasonic format program.
I'll just use the card in my Garmin for MP3s instead.
The card just arrived from Amazon for me, and it isn't working. I should've searched this up before buying the card. Still no fixes?
i have trancend microsdhc class 6, 8gb and not working in my raphael (asia wwe stock rom)
is there any chance that upgrade rom to the newer one / flash custom rom will fix this issue? panasonic sd formater didn't help.
i have this card 1month and it work ok for me. one day card crash i get new (same) but device don´t see this card. i try new rom, panasonic sd format but no change.
i try 8gb sandisk class 4 and kingston class 6 and this cards works ok.

Help-Storage card keeps disappearing

My storage card disappears from time to time and now it disappeared permanently, the card is not broken because it still shows up on my laptop.
I read lots of posts here on the forum, but is there a solution somewhere?
thank you !!!

I just enabled the powermanagement again and it showed back up. -.-
This is depressing me because it is the opposite of what I did last time.
Try setting different poll interval. I don't remember how, where and with what... search, you got the keyword
I've got the exact same problem with an mda vario iv, I was posting right now when I saw this. I've already tried setting different pnp delay in registry (as explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=543879) and didn't change. What's this thing about power management?
I'm also using the Vario IV
well you download advanced config 3.3
here:http://www.touchxperience.com/en/advanced-configuration-tool/downloads.html
and install it on your phone , then after u installed it you need to do a softreset (it will prompt u to). Reboot and launch the program, under power management the first tab is SD card"something", you can switch it on or off.
I saw that when I cant find my card and I switch it on or off (depending how I left it last time) my card returns in my explorer.
Actually I've just changed the 4gb microsdhc card with a 2 gb microsd (non hc) and so far it's working flawlessly... a bit too soon to say it was just a bad card but i'm optimistic. Thank you for the advice about power management, if I'll have problems I'll try that as well
well, I hope it works for you, unfortunately I need that 4 gb, otherwise I havent got enough space to install my navigator in
heh, me too actually, but I hope the problem was only with that ugly 4 gb lexar! I'll go for a kingstone or a sandisk next time!
There have been several post about Class 6 Micro SDHC cards, mainly from Adata and Transcend, not working with Raphaels. I have an 8 Gb Class 6 card from Adata that had the same problem. I switched it with a 6 Gb Kingston Class 4 I had in my camera and it's been working great since last month. I haven't found a fix yet. Raphael's don't seem to like Class 6 cards.
To my knowledge it isn't the card but rather the card slot...I never had a problem with mines until I got a replacement Fuze do to radio failure...now with this replacement when my phone shifts in anyway my card will disappear, then with another shift re-appear. It got to be so annoying that I jus took my card out and place it back in when I need it. I will have to call AT&T to get another or maybe the Tilt II on the 18th
P.S. I have a Sandisc 8GB Class 2

Well, of to the shop I guess -.-
Just gone to the shop for a change, I've taken a sandisk 4gb class 2 this time, and it works like a breeze! Good luck if you're going to change yours too
Well, I went to the shop and bought a sandisk class 2, 8gb card, and its been running like a charm for 5 hours now. Fortunately a buddy of mine still needed a 8 gb card for his samsung and he was gladly to take the class 6 over from me for the same price I paid.
Problem solved.
btw maybe there should be a sticky where it explains that class 6 cards dont work with the Touch Pro.

MicroSD card

I just bought a new 64GB PNY Pro Elite microSDXC for this tablet, and every time I try to move a file, an app, or anything to the card, I'm given an error. It says unable to move. Not enough storage space. I read somewhere else that people had trouble with the 64GB cards, but the 32GB cards worked fine. Has anyone had issues with the 64GB MicroSD card?
Odd, I've never seen that issue on mine, not on the 64GB nor on the 128GB(which is my regular card).
Mind you, I only use Sandisk, and never a lower-tier brand. Too many problems when you use anything other than Sandisk or Samsung cards.
If you have an sd-card reader/writer for pc, googling you can find several utilities to thoroughly test your card.
If the card is OK and you are rooted you can try sdfix, a free utility that fixed random write access problems to the sd-card on my tablet after the upgrade to lollipop

Well, I found a few other people who had the same issue, and they used a command line app on their PC called fat32format, which formats devices above 32GB. They said it fixed their problem, but I didn't think MicroSD cards on an Android device were formatted FAT32.
Either way, as ShadowLea said, I normally use Samsung and/or SanDisk cards and have never had a problem taking it out of the box and plugging it in. I ordered this card because the description read 95MB/s read time, but if I'm not mistaken, Samsung and SanDisk both have cards like this. Since I just received it and have 30 days to exchange it, I think I'm going to send it back. I shouldn't have to use any app to get it working correctly right out of the box. I guess this is what I get from deviating from the norm.
