This is based on my trials with
cyanogen rom
mylgin
htc magic (latest)
eugenes rom
cursorsense
and finally casense
in all these roms, when i add a contact image, from gallery its fine with good quality. I mean the image showing while placing a call is in good quality right after i add the image. But after a sync with google, once the picture is synced updated to google. The image is little blurred, a bit quality lower.
What is the issue ?

Hi, everyone:
My phone is Vodafone G2 Magic 32A, a problem has confused me for a period. When i tried 1.6, the problem occurred.
With any 1.5 rom, the phone work well. But with 1.6, 2.0,2.1 rom, the phone always auto reboot or crashed, whether i use the phone or not, and i think the reason is not a specific operation or software. I have tested all the rom i can find, and change the spl and radio for several times, but the problem still have. And the same problem also confuse other people. We have a group to discuss how to solve the problem, we all think the reason is not the hardware error, because the 1.5 version always work fine.
Here is some infomation of my G2 phone

but,I have changed my phone SPL2007 did not crash when the FLASH ROM.
which kind of rom did you flash?
The same problem i had, as lots of people.
Unless rom 1.5, other rom include 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1, it made the G2 crashed and auto reboot.
We have doubted about the recovery img, spl, radio, and so on. And someone have tested all of them, the problem have still being.

Same problem!
HTC G2
, is anybody can help us?
Or teach us a way to find the really problem
for example: a program running in our Magic phone, when the phone crash or reboot, it will record some useful infomation.
I had a similar problem, my G2 freezed totally when used other roms.
In my case, it seemed to be the kernel. Using 2.6.27 worked fine.
so vanilla android 1.5 worked, and GyD and MyHero worked, but not others.
When I ran MyHero, I also noticed that my CPU didn't seemed to scale.
I ended up substiting my phone for another of the same model.
using "adb logcat" didnt give me any information, the error did never get logged.
Hey, got the. Same. Phone running on. Android. 2.1 for a while now
You have too flash the. 32b rom. And. Then. Before booting the 32a port. Witch. Provided. On the same site where you downloade the rom from
I had. The same problem,
Good luck,
hi, i have 32A spl1.33.2010 recovery 1.5.2H radio 3.20.22.17
i had similar problems with stuck at htc boot screen or crash part way through set up, i was wiping and partitioning my sd card 96/512/fat32.
what worked for me was upgrading my spl and recovery to the above,
do back up
wipe- data/factory; davlik-cache;sd ext partition,
no partitions on sd card,
flash rom then flash 32A port then reboot system
currently enjoying ahmgsk port of eugenes espresso/hero 2.1 rom
i hope this helps??
Hello, iv got similar problem, on 1.5 work fine too but on on ROMs above 1.5 reboot my phone when i i use my camera i can do 1 picture but when i want to delete it phone just reboot, on google goggles too. I try Cyanogen ROM, SuperD and 1 ROM on android 2.x version. Someone maybe have same problem and fixed it ? or someone know how to fix it and btw i wiped data i try to install same ROM several times too and nothing helped
I'm having big problems with my 32A and any 1.6 ROM. Never tried changing the SPL though, but I've tried anything else: partitioning, installing different ROMS, almost every combination of wipe/reset and so on.
How could changing the SPL affect stability of a ROM?
It seems I've erased absolutely everything from my HTC One S. The only thing I have on it is the latest Paranoid Android and related GAPPS.
I was having problems with it before, went to install a new rom - and it wouldn't boot. So I got into the bootloader and.... uh..... kind of did a factory reset. Yeah, so I'm stupid and admit it. Anyway, I then got into TWRP and mounted the SD card, copied the rom and gapps, flashed them and rebooted.
The rom (PA) booted and most everything works except that I think I'm missing some core files or whatever that come with the phone (as opposed to those that a rom would have.) For instance, I show no networks whatsoever on the wifi settings and I can't turn the wifi on... so maybe I'm missing the radio files? Also, the clock won't automatically come to local time, so I'm guessing that's also a radio issue - like maybe I deleted it!?!
So here's some info from About Phone:
Android 4.2.2
Baseband: 1.08ts 50 02 16_10 08e50.04L
Paranoid Android 3.60
I have no idea if the above info helps or not, or what info is needed: but does it sound like I'm missing the radio files or something, and, if so, where do I get them?
Thanks for any help, folks.
Extra info:
Maybe I do still have radio files as it's listed in the bootloader. Here's what is listed:
VLE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT - 1.14.0004
RADIO - 1.08ts.50.02.16
OpenDSP - v29.1.0.45.0622
eMMC-boot
I flashed the bilal_liberty sense 5.5 ROM to my phone, and during the flash, it asked to update the radio. I said yes. i got a lot of random reboots so I decided to RUU the phone and I went back to stock. then I unlocked and rooted. Once I started using my phone I noticed that I can only connect to 2G. Any chance my radio is not right or still on the radio included in the previous rom? wifi works fine. phone hasn't crashed on me, but i can only get to 2G. If I set it to wmcda only, it will not pick up a network, previously it would, even on the old rom.
As far as I know, that radio you flashed along with Liberty Max, is a modified version of 1.20 (to make 3g work on android 4.3 and above)
Try flashing the stock 1.20 and see how it goes. Don't know where to find the file though.
Best of luck :good:

I recently rooted my One S, installed Clockwork Recovery, and installed CyanogenMod 10.2-stable. Frankly, it's the best thing I've ever done to this phone. Everything is running great, EXCEPT for the data connection. I am on T-Mobile, and my cellular connection indicator constantly bounces around between no-H, H, H+, and 3G. It's not 'cycling', per se, meaning that it's not rotating in a consistent pattern or at a regular interval...but it's constantly changing modes and I'm always losing network connectivity when it does. It has made it virtually impossible to stream anything. I constantly receive 'network connection lost' messages. Strangely, voice conversations seem to work fine and flawlessely. Whatever the problem is, it seems to only affect data.
I'm looking for any guidance or help to point me in the right direction. Do I need to S-OFF the phone? Does that have anything to do with it? I'm somewhat suspect of the radio. Based on version numbers above...do I need to flash the radio? Anything else?
Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Radio 1.13 is the latest T-MOB radio. For upgrading to a newer radio version e.g. radio 1.20 you need to set your phone S-OFF first. For setting your phone S-OFF best use rumrunner.us . For using rumrunner you'll need a stock or sense based rom and your phone must be rooted and USB debugging must be enabled. Before changing the radio version and so on, you should backup your current android version with CWM and try another custom rom to check if the mobile data problem persists or is just rom related.
Thank you! This is all great information. I agree that it is an excellent idea to try another ROM, for the sake of comparison. My understanding is that discussions on xda developers are not supposed to recommend one ROM or another. Having said that, is there another ROM that you would recommend for the sake of comparison/testing? I'm not very familiar with all of the different custom ROMs out there, and I'd like (if possible) a recommendation for a good ROM to use to test the radio.
Thanks for the reply.

I actually use Candy5 a CM12 based Lollipop rom. For me it runs stable and it probably will be suitable for testing the mobile data connection.
It seems like I've fixed my update issue, so I wanted to post this for other people's benefit.
As described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/help/update-issues-cyanogenmod-t3127489
I had an issue updating to newer versions of CyanogenMod and gapps. My phone radio (the LTE indicator) would not work. It kept acting like it was endlessly searching for a signal or stopping and starting. After Googling and re-Googling and re-Googling with every different combination of relevant search terms I could think of, I found a thread that suggested upgrading the radio version.
I found a link for newer firmware here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723159
I downloaded that file, renamed it to OP6BIMG.zip, put it in the root of my external SD card, rebooted into HBOOT, and the phone automatically detected the file, and prompted me to update.
Here are my versions before the update:
M8_WLV PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-0.89.20.0321
OpenDSP-v38.0.0-00542-M8974.0311
OS-4.17.605.5
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Feb 3 2015,21:50:28.0
Here are my versions after the update:
M8_WLV PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-1.12.20.1211
OpenDSP-v47.2.2-00564-M8974_F0.1024
OS-4.17.605.5
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Feb 3 2015,21:50:28.0
Then I did a factory reset, flashed the new CyanogenMod, rebooted to let that do it's thing, went back to recovery mode and installed the new gapps.
Looks like everything is fine now.
