a way to use multiple sounds for calandar items? - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I use my phone (htc touch diamond) as a alarm to get up in the morning, but also to remind realy everything during the day. my problem is, when i set an good iritating tone to get up, that same tone iritates other people during the day hearing my reminders, otherwise, when i schould set an sweeter tone for my reminders, i wont wake up from it.
does anyone knows a way, or if not, and program, how i could use multiple sounds for reminders. best would be when i get an extra field in my standard windows calander with the choise of the sound...

I use the Touch Pro 2 calendar for many things including medication reminders, but I need different sounds for different reminder too.
Hopefully someone can help.

How to enable "repeat" in sounds and notifications

I was wondering if there are any tweaks or any way to just have the "repeat" tab available for all the notifications?
I really need this for my missed calls and missed sms messages.
I have a t-mobile mda vario and i was wondering if any one could help me?
And is there any way to further increase the overall volume on the phone and to import different kinds of vibration types? I just wanted to know because i want to further enhance my phone capabilites.
Please search for "How to Enable Repeat Play Audio Sound Notifications in Windows Mobile"
You will find the solution!
Teknasia, why don't you link to your answer to this question? I did your suggested search, and the first 6 links are all copies of this post.
The answer from teknasia is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3319983#post3319983
The solutions posted don't really work
If we are honest we should let folks know that the 'repeat' registry hack does not really work the way a normal user would expect. For example the one commonly posted for SMS messages keeps alarming until the 10 minute mark, even if the message is already read.
So while it is true that you can enable repeat notifications for events such as text messages, the reality is it does not work perfectly.
If you want something that works, meaning once I read the message the notifications should stop, then there are products out there such as phoneAlarm that do the trick, and more, quite nicely.
PhoneAlarm in my opinion is the best solution not only for repeat sounds for SMS, Missed Calls, E-mails but also reminders from the Calendar and Tasks

[REQ] "Vibetonez" Ringtones???

So Im not sure where this would actually fit in on here but Im looking for something close to a Vibetonez kinda program, for WinMo 6.1. For those of you that dont know Vibetonez were ringtones that when a bass note would hit, or a certain rhythme would go, it would vibrate along with the ringtone music, I was just wondering if someone knew of an alternative or even how you would go about doing something like that, again I appologize if this has been brought up before or If Im putting this in the wrong category, just interested in something like this.
bump..
that would be a nice app..
Try VAlert...
with this u can compose your own vibrate sequence...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437279&highlight=valert
I've actually been looking for the same thing (I think), and VAlert didn't provide it:
VAlert lets you set a custom vibration pattern, but as far as I can tell, only one single pattern.
It would be nice if there was a program that let you set multiple different custom vibration patterns for different callers. That way you could 'feel' who was calling, and decide if the call was important or not without having the ringer on.
is there anything that provides that ability?

I was looking for something more like this, or something that responds to the ringtone. not just a set vibrate pattern
Yeah I was thinking more so responding to the actual ringtone, VAlert is nice but it would be nice if you could set multiples ones though, for instance a different vibration for SMS, MMS, Email, Appointment, Voicemail, Ecetera. It would be nice if you could figure out what frequency of music the program would pick up, and vibrate to that frequency, although to me that seems rather demanding on that scale.

Adding a new alarm to HTC Touch Pro

Hi guys,
Just been having an incredible number of problems trying to add an alarm ring tone to my alarm clock? The default alarms are too low in volume and too short in duration to be of any use in waking me up in the mornings. I've tried and incredible number of ways to add some tones into the alarm but haven't be able to. Since changing phones, the alarm just hasn't been enough to wake me up!
In my event notification section, there is no way of altering the alarm. There is no drop-down menu option for alarms or ringtones. The following options are available:
Phone: Incoming call
Active Sync: Begin sync
Active Sync: End sync
Beam: Autoreceive
Connection disconnected
Connection established
IM: new instant message
IM: Nudge
Messaging: Downloading MMS/MMS downloaded/MMS sent/ new email message/new mms/new mms report/new text message/sending mms
Phone: Missed call
Phone Voice mail
Quick GPS
Reminders
Wireless network detected
Then, there is one option that has 5 squares present - I think the phone cannot read the symbols, but I tried it and it doesn't work either.
I tried the following steps also, which my friend suggested:
"Copy whatever mp3 file(s) you wish to use as ringtones or alarm tones into a new folder on the memory card. Then, using the phone's File Explorer, copy those files into the Windows folder (that you'll find in the Phone Memory), and also into the Ringtones or Rings folder, and lastly, into My Documents/My Ringtones (I think that's the folder's name - if not, then it's very similar). Then go to the Events and Notifications section of your phone's setup, that is, the section where you change your ringtones. There, you'll find a section that has a dropdown menu that shows each individual event, along with another dropdown menu showing the available mp3 and wav files. You can then change the event notification (alarm tone/ringtone) to whatever you want."
Some help would be GREATLY appreciated - I'd be very grateful for the member who can get me waking up on time again in the morning!
g-alarm
the default alarm options for WM aren't great; my old samsung cellphone had better options and settings for alarms. i highly recommend using a separate application like g-alarm that has lots of interesting options: http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=galarm/about
Yeah g-alarm is by far much better, BUT just in case you were wondering. How you change the sound is to go to settings / clocks & alarms/ then for each individual alarm click on the little bell. There should be a drop down box there, although I'm not sure if mp3's are supported or not out of the box.

i dont think mp3s are supported. thats basically the main reason i installed g-alarm. great program, but way too easy to flip over to snooze (yes, it's accelerometer enabled so you can flip your phone over to snooze or do a maze to turn off the alarm)
It works extremely well! Thank you very much for recommending it!

sms alert

I have subscribed to a monitoring service which send me alerts via sms. I want that if I received a sms from a particular number then a different sms tone will sound or a file will execute etc so that I can differentiate that the message I received is important.
any way to accomplish it?
I have the same situation and would also be interested in a solution for this.
Is there somewhere we can submit suggestions to MS for inclusion of this in a future 6.5.1 revision? It would be easy to add surely and another nice feature that iphone, android etc. don't have.
Not tried it yet, but looks like this might do it: http://qorefunctions.com/
OK tried that and don't like it. It's not seeming to show all my contacts and the limit on the sound is 15 seconds, whereas I want an mp3 of a few minutes to play.
So back to the drawing board.
Done more research and trialling this: http://ringomo.com/windows.php
Seems to work well so far and cheaper than the other one too.

I tried it on my Samsung Jack i637 stock rom and in less than 10 minutes I uninstalled that ringo crap. It messed my profile up. Wish there was something light weight that doesn't screw with the contacts and profiles so much.
How did it mess your profile up? Not had any problems yet, although I am getting a funny 'ding' sound play when my phone wakes up before the proper text alert sound plays.
SMS!Alert
Hi,
SMS!Alert work perfect for it.
SMS!Alert allow you to create custom alerts based on SMS messages, enter a incoming phone number and/or keyword filter, when someone sends a SMS with the keyword filter text or if incoming phone number matches, phone will display sound alert.

[Q] notification selection for sms/messages

I want to use a different ringtone for sms/messages.
But the one I want to use doesn't come up in Settings.
What folder do I need to put that "ringtone" in?
It's currently in "ringtones", does it need to be in "notifications" Or somewhere else?
It should work if it's in notifications
thanks that doed it.

My mp3 will show up as selections. But when I receive a text, it plays one of the generic tone. Actually, doesn't matter what I select, it plays the same old tone.
Messages/Settings/Notifications/Received Messages/Notification Sound
SMS only notification
Is it possible to set up a separate notification for SMS.
Like most people, I want to know about SMS as soon as they arrive, its virtually a societal expectation at this stage! I can only seem to set event notifications, which is annoying, as these can go off in the middle of the night, eg emails, reminders of all day events etc.
if it IS possible to set a special SMS notifier, are there any sounds out there that mimic the urgency of the standard NOKIA tones, as opposed to the bland android ones?
mnt/sdcard/Notifications
is where the sound goes.
then as I said above for settings.
you could try Zedge for free sounds or search the interwebs for a sound you like.
