HTC Magic 32A Fender Edition!
Ported from the MyTouch 3g Fender Edition.
Now only works with 32A 3.22 Radio!
All hardware works great!
Changes:
- kernel and modules from sanpei - Thank you!
- source from MLIGN
- removed T-Mobile apps
- added additional media (ringtones, etc) from MLIGN
- changed build.prop
- netfilter and tether support, thanks to Cyanogen 2.6.29 kernel!
The best part about this ROM is the HTC Music app. Pretty slick.
Instructions:
- Perform a full nandroid backup
- Wipe data
- Flash update.zip file through recovery.

If you have a proper nandroid backup through Amon_RA recovery, then you can restore the nandroid backup and your phone will be exactly as it was before.
I can't get past the setup wizard because it's not set to my 3G network. I can't skip Google sign in.

GPS working?
Has anyone been able to get GPS working? I've tried to toggle the GPS icon via the power widget but it does not change. There is no GPS icon enabled in the status bar. Also, Google maps won't register my exact location via GPS.
So is this pretty much the first actual 32A commercial Donut rom?
omg this thing's quick. been mucking about trying to fing a replacement for my gf's donut roms (she is no fan of sense and she wants it to be super fast). looks like this fits the bill so long as all the bits and pieces work properly.

edit: i also have no gps maps can only do position by mobile networks and i'm running gps status now and it can't get any GPS data. all setup options look fine.
edit 2: what are the clockspeeds? have you already overclocked, or should i install the widget?

Great ROM. There is only one bug that I did find: GPS is not working.

It's like a stock 1.6, though it does have the HTC Music app, similar to the Sense Music App.
Also, It has the Swype keyboard (with a crappy skin IMO). Any way we can get the keyboard into another ROM? Just installing the apk doesn't seem to work (FCs on the 1.5 CursorSense ROM, not tried on any 1.6 ROM).

This is basically a full hero rom with many goodies added (hint: Footprints, java, Stocks ) and two apk files removed (check original thread).
I have replaced kernel and wlan.ko with files from Amon_RA and also AudioPara4.csv from Rogers Magic (once again thanks bcrook ).
LOCKSCREEN Wallpapers
To change lockscreen wallpaper, first download and unzip the file somewhere then cd to it and use this command:

adb push wallpaper_file_name_here.jpg /system/etc/lockscreen/port/htc_wallpaper_01_lockscreen.jpg
Note that we are replacing a file so the destination filename must always be htc_wallpaper_01_lockscreen.jpg
If you want to use your own lockscreen wallpaper, then use an image editing software (like GIMP) to resize the image to 455x320 pixels. Then push it using the command shown above.
p.s. As with all Hero roms, bluetooth and LEDs (only green one works) may not work properly!

noooooooooooooooooo...i can't use this rom on my mytouch because the screen gets blurry after waking up the display. I have to get this issue resolved first before i can properly run it. From the looks of it, the rom looks great. Too bad i can't run this rom at the moment

Well this has landscape sms and JAVA which is kewl!! You can go to getjar.com from your phone browser and install java apps!! Check original thread for more info on this.
Also this is the latest Hero build and has footprints and stocks that people had been asking for
Now if it is or not faster than JACxHEROski 1.4, I can't say right now. I need some time to test it and some days to pass

Its good and fast so i would say, with 20 min playing with it, its the fastest, and the most feature packed rom for the magic at this time. absolutely loaded with toys and goodies.

Well I have stock spl and no problems... Did you wipe? What device do you own?
I got the spl 1.33.2005 on my TIM 32a Magic. and as i said, i cant get it booted..im currently trying hofo rom with the same kernel, maybe its just the file or something..
edit: yeah, i wiped. also tried to install it 2 times.
edit2: hofo rom with amon_ras kernel works without problems.

Is it actually working for you though in this rom? All the hero roms i try it was never working.. FastBright.. rounded labs brightness toggler.. etc..
It's only the original 1.6 rom for google ion provided by HTC, i've only create a flashable zip and i've add root
There is the official kernel, no tethering/compcache/app2sd/multitouch/busybox ecc ecc

To install please WIPE+FLASH (a reboot after first setup probably is required to not have problems with widget - if you don't use english language)

i think you can use the cyanogen experimental kernet, that have compcache ipfilter and a lot of improvements..!

Sorry, for clarification this is Cyanogen's 4.1.11.1 kernel. I may get around to building a 32A stock kernel, but we'll see.
purchased apps still won't download
so whats the market fix
do i have to re-install and wipe again cause just got it all set up

But i can't install the untouched image from that link because i have a stock spl, not engeneering one. Basically what i need is a stock 1.6 before the ota update is released. The rom in this thread is great, installs just like any other rom without issue, but it has root which I have no need for.
i had to wipe/re flash to get my market to work. Everything is functional now! thanks guys!

i had the same issue but it went away after i restarted. I also turned wifi and GPS on/off a few times and it seemed to fix it? Maybe forcing the widget to register or somthing

No immediate plans, but (and I'm happy to be corrected) radio compatibility is a ROM issue rather than a kernel issue. I'd expect it'd require a matching RIL from a device that uses the new radio, like a hero or something?

I'm not sure either, but I think it's like any other port: boot+kernel+libs, etc. At least I just installed [ROM][32A RADIO 6.35] SuperD 1.6 - 24/01/2010 and all I did was flash the default ROM from 32B boards [48Mb] + Phil_McRevis Port file [2Mb] and all is working well

I need the new radio 32A port
can't sign into my google account..
this is a major problem and I have no idea what could be causing it
every time it just says "you don't have a network connection"
even though I do..
though on the plus side, facebook sync seems to be working but I can't tell as I don't currently have any contacts to sync(no google account)
wifi, 3g, gps and bluetooth are working of course
though the phone isn't recognizing any of the buttons on my headset
not sure if that's an issue with the rom or not
live wallpapers don't seem to be working for me
some of them move, some don't
but none of them respond to touch
the addition of the weather/news widget and the "clock" app is nice
why are we not seeing the new launcher yet though?
also, any word on getting the browser, gallery and maps from the update for the N1 today?
it would be really nice if someone could post those somewhere..

It would if King changed his rom to include the new RIL etc.
Radio compatibility isn't determined by the kernel - it's determined by other things, so my port doesn't affect it - its up to the rom cook to determine that.

Usually it takes about 2-3 minutes. Is the boot animation freezing for a second or two? If so, you need to reinstall it.
Make sure you have the SPL and Radio from my signature. You can also find there the port I've made (with Magic Port ) for King 1.4 and it works very well for me!
this rom works great! the only thing i can complain about is that there is no full exchange support. would be great if i could access my exchange calendar. possible for a motoapps add on like what amgsk did previously?

Yeah, I shortened the filenames so I could tell what I was installing and it works now.
all my apps are back even though I did a factory reset before installing the ROM. Cool.... but Market Enabler won't install for some reason

Do a quick google for MotoCAL.apk - that'll give you exchange calendaring. As for including it in the rom, let Kingklick92 know (use his twitter - twitter.com/kingklick92) and he might include it in the next release.

hotweiss for the NR kernel and WG for the 32a kernel - sanpei for his NR kernel
will not reccomend using new radio until we get a fully functioning kernel which supports both 3d and the camera/multi-touch
sanpei is almost perfect and very fast but homerun battle 3d crashes and neo core runs like ****
Edit2: if anyone wants to customize the launcher press menu then adw settings - you can set the number of home screens
default screen - transparent or black backround etc etc

yes its what i use for my daily rom
like I said everything i have tested except multi-touch works in the NR port
the old radio port should have everything incl multi touch but it will be for the old radio

tell u the truth the old radio version is better for features

I didn't have that problem. The only problem I had was there was no email app or like anything related to google, and I couldn't flash anything else because the forum went down for maintenance lol. Will test later, had to nandroid because it was missing too much. I'll install it myself later. Other than that, I felt the difference between this and superD. But I wonder if missing a bunch of things had to do anything with it, i'll find out later!

ive used both and they should be identical except for the diff in multi touch
im currently using the new radio but will switch to old for the day to make sure everything is ok
I downloaded only the SF 1.2, apparnetly you have to flash 3.0.2 or 0.3 then SF1.2. So I'll do that later

just installed my port after doing fastboot erase system -w or whatever
fully working on old radio
gmail
maps and
google talk are all there
its a very small and speedy rom
if u want any apps not there youll have int install them urself
for people getting sleep death... thats something on your part
have not experianced it myself
make sure to wipe everything

Hey everyone here's a new ROM based on a lot of ROM based off New Hero 2.1 dump (based on official taiwan hero 2.1 dump!)
Now, this rom is beta, I know there will be problems with it that I will fix with your help! I hope it will works!
If you have any issues, suggestions, or things you would like to see in later versions of the rom, please refer to this page and post your hearts out. Click here .
Guide :
1 : Wipe data, dalvik-cache, sd ext, battery stats (You can try without wipe, but I don’t recommend)
2 : Set a swap on your sd card using Amon_RA’s recovery (96Mb is perfect for me and I have a Mytouch 3G)
3 : Set an ext partition, then ext2 to ext3, then ext3 to ext4 !!
4 : Flash update !
Recommendations:
1 : Disable the keyboard vibration for best performance when Text Messaging and sending Emails.
2 : Wait 10 min before starting to use HTC assistant!
3 : If you would like to create a backup for this rom, please use a BART backup because the ROM will not boot when you restore!
(You have to do this because the nandroid backup doesn't backup the cache partition!)

well he said he got the htc hero 2.1 dump..which might mean its the updated sense..since it should be getting an update soon

I am not asking if it is hero or legend because we all know it is hero BUT is it themed legend shiny or hero dull?
If it is hero dull could you please theme it with the new shiny sense? If you are unsure of how to make a hero rom 'look' like a legend rom, ask zack, he did it to his hero rom.

This rom is really slow. I'm not sure why because I had kings legned rom with this same kernel which was lighting quick and same for vega's legend rom which were both quick.
I have 1024mb ext4 partition and 288mb swap

You could always look at the screenshot in the OP, or actually flash it and see for yourself. He specifically mentioned that this thread isn't for questions.

I am away from home and on my phone, when i click on the screenshots, all that happens is a big black square takes over a large part of the screen, rather than the picture.
After 40 min i must say that rom is VERY SLOW? there is no htc ime
Going to try flashing this ill let ya know how it goes!
Im 50 Percent sure that this rom is the actual Hero Dump with shiny sense and not a themed version of the 2.1 rosie.
I keep getting the white htc loading screen every now and then... what does that mean??

Do you have a swap partition on your sdcard?(I have the feeling he left Compache on,which might explain the reloads)
