Thanks

The registry setting is located;
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila
Here you will find LSK (Left Soft Key) and RSK (Right SK) path and text.
You would set the path to Windows\ContactAgent.exe.
You can set the text to whatever you want.
Soft reset and you're done.

Thanks.
Just before reading your answer I found a hint for a solution in an old post.
Actually I used the following expression under LSK path:
Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
and it works as well.
Thank you very much anyway!

Oh yes, you did say "Manila" contacts didn't you. My apologies.

You can also use BsB Tweaks to change it to what ever you like.

Touchflo contacts

Hi there,
I'm looking for the location of the application/link that thouchflo starts when you go the programs --> Contacts.
I want to map my right softkey to it. I have changed it already to the standard wimo contacts, but I want the use the one from touchflo.
Did you find it?? I'm searching it too without success
I'm not sure if you really mean this, but I put the touchflo/manila contact view on my left softkey. You have to enter in the registry (HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila) the following:
HomeRSKPath: Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
HomeRSKText: Contacts
Hope, this is what you wanted.. ;-)
cheers

Thanks, rohorubo, but it's not exactly what I'm searching for.
i'll try to explain with my rustical english
In the manila 2.1 "Start" menu, I can set the Icon "Contacts". But it opens the "WM6.1-Contacts", and I prefer the "Manila"-Contacts (that it's more finger-friendly, and includes photos).
I'm searching for the file that opens the Manila-Contacts. So, I could add a shortcut, and have an Icon in the Start Menu.
Sorry for my very bad english. Hope someone understand something
Path is in this registry key HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/1 (if you have Contacts icon on 2nd place) . but I didn't try it
The time of confusing words is over
In a few words: "I need the .exe file that runs this application (see screenshot). Where can I find it?"
Thanks a lot!!
You should read the posts more carefully.
The file is \Windows\Manila.exe
The arguments required are --switchtopage Manila://people/browserlayer/?.page
So, if you wanted to make the Contacts icon on the default start page go to the Manila contacts page instead of the WM6 page, in HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/1
under Command you add --switchtopage Manila://people/browserlayer/?.page
and change Path to read \Windows\Manila.exe

[APP] HD2 12 Button Action Screen [20.11.2009]

Based fully on ammars 12 button action screen for HD. When I installed the ammars version, I found out, that bluetooth toggle was not working and also no button was assigned after install. So I changed the "ToggleBTh.exe" inside the cab for a different version working with LEO and I also assigned the left soft key as the action button. Finally I changed the text in the picture of psshutXP to reflect the device it's used on.
As you can see, I haven't done anything big, just slight modifications, so all the credit still goes to ammar for his HD version and to metkosas as the first creator. Anyway I like this piece of soft and I thought I'd share enjoy
Original ammars post can be found HERE.
If you want to alter the function of any button, check out THIS post which contains a very good how-to.
[Update 22/11/2009]
- v 1.2
- changed cab registry modifications - now working for non-english OS
[Update 21/11/2009]
- v 1.1
- implemented suggestion from post 6 - HTC Contact Editor instead of the old MS one
[Update 20/11/2009]
- replaced "ToggleBTh.exe" used by ammar with a version compatible with LEO
- slight change in graphics od psshutXP (text mostly)
- action assigned to the left soft key
- removed the "today icon" option, as it has no use in manilla
I have uploaded two versions. The first one links the button "gps" to googlemaps. The second one is for those of you, that use iGO8.
Warning: iGO8.exe has to be installed in "\program files\iGO8\iGO8.exe"
Install HD2 12 Button Action Screen to the device not SD!
Very nice, good work!
One question: I've been looking for a simple bluetooth toggle app that works on the Leo, seems you found one, could you post that seperately?

Dude, awesome, thanx!
I think smaberg is also working on his 12 button action screen for HD2 ^^
But nice to see this also.
Thanks!
So much more useful than a stupid phone soft key that duplicates the function of the hardware button 1cm below it.
Dupe post
If you are a passing mod, please delete this...
Detxtrosan. Thanks for updating it to work for Leo.
Can I offeer a suggestion to all users and also you to update the cab file so that the New Contact link on the Action Screen takes you to the better looking HTC Contact Editor as opposed to the Microsoft old Contact Editor. Here is the reg tweak...
HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\App_6
Change path to: \windows\ContactEditor.exe
Also delete text in Param field.
Thanks!
Good idea, I'll do that, thanks for the suggestion.
GPS and Shutdown is not working for me, just takes me back to homescreen.
What version did you download? As for the GPS problem, the answer could be that you downloaded an iGo8 version and you don't have iGo8 installed/installed in the right directory. As for shutdown, I'll have to look into it according to the version you downloaded.
Very good!
Would it be possible for you to include a Tomtom version?
For those, who have installed IGO in their Storage Card (or somewhere else than Program Files\IGO) ...
Go to HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\App_10
Change Path to the path of your IGO8.exe
SOFT RESET
And now you`re ready to go !
P.S. Thanks for the wonderful application !!!!
I downloaded "HD2_12_button_HD_action_screen_v1.1.cab" so no iGo8 version. When i press GPS or Shutdown i get the loading circles and then back to homescreen, no error or anything.
Do you have a branded version of HD2? Could you check if you have the directory psShutXP after the cab install? The action screen points to the file: \Program Files\psShutXP\psShutXP_nosc.exe
Also can you check if you have the googlemaps installed in the \program files\GoogleMaps directory? The action screen points to the file:\program files\GoogleMaps\GoogleMaps.exe

Here the same. I think it has something to do with language. My dir for shutdown isn't Program Files\psShutXP\psShutXP_nosc.exe but Programmabestanden\psShutXP\psShutXP_nosc.exe
Changed: HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\App_11
Change path in to my language: Programmabestanden\psShutXP\psShutXP_nosc.exe
Same for GPS/Googlemaps App_10
OK. Thanks for your info mlkenschede. I found out, that the cab registry modifications were hard coded. I changed them to reflect system folders but unfortunately I have an english device so I need you guys to check this out for me. If it works for you I'll update the first post with this version.
MMSLauncher?
MMS tab just open up SMS?! hmm...
I checked it on the dutch version and indeed, shotdown is working correctly.

The thing is that there is no difference in the SMS/MMS dialogue in manilla 2.5. MMS is sent when you add an attachment. Maybe we could come up with a different action assigned to the MMS button instead on the LEO.

I have installed this programm, but where can I change both softkeys?
In Adv Conf
Menu-More Settings-Key mapping
You can also do it changing the registry; in HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila you have the keys HomeRSK and HomeLSK; where RSK is Right SoftKey and LSK is Left Softkey.
In HomeRSKPath you put the path to the programm you want to launch, in HomeRSKText you put the text you want to put in the Softkey.
Hope it helps.
What is the way to change the softkeys while Manila is running? Manila overwrites my softkey mapping while its running.
~Eyghon
Please.... use the search function... there are at least 5 threads which are about chaninging the softkeys.
Once you have changed the registry you MUST do a Soft Reset to apply the changes.
FYI I'm using;

\Windows\Clock.exe will get you to the same screen as when you click on the clock but not sure how to default to Alarm tab.
All right, thanks so far for this hint, but it actually gets me to the "windows" clock settings - due to the nice look of manila / sense / tf3d (whatever), i would prefere to get to the manila style clock settings (alarm settings).
Anybody else an idea?

I don't think it can be done because manila uses a series of Mode9 files for one CPL, so there are multiple files for that function.
Another option would be an external program like G-Alarm.
Okay... that's why nowhere else on the net I found an answer...
Thank you though...
Feature Settings
If it's a *.cpl file it's accessible! See my post and within it several links to more information about accessing Feature Settings via *.LNK files...
In the xda wiki there's a link for the Windows Alarms.

It just needs some more investigation <g>

As Sascha stated, "i would prefere to get to the manila style clock settings (alarm settings)." not the windows CPL, which as I stated can be achieved by linking to Clock.exe
You can't link the Manila Alarm UI to a softkey.
Nice tutorial though.

Facebook app from update and events

I'd like to know if its possible to open the facebook app when i tap on any update in the "updates and events" tab in people. Right now it opens the facebook web version in opera.
I tried looking into the registry, but could not find anything. Anyone out here has any idea if it can be done.
Thanks in advance.

I also like that, but do not know why?
I have another question. It is possible to create for "Update and Events Tab" the shortcut. I would like to put it to Quick links because this tab is very deeply in People menu.
When one of you can do it, so as to share it, please.
Thanks.
P.S.: I know about the "Facebook Tab" but I dont'n use this tab.

Yes m8 its possible ..the sortcut you want must have this line in...
manila.exe\ --switchtopage Manila://people\\browserlayer\\peopleupdate.page
and if you want this in the left softkey the reg file its like this
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila]
"HomeLSKPath"="!\"\\Windows\\manila.exe\" --switchtopage Manila://people\\browserlayer\\peopleupdate.page"
"HomeLSKText"="Facebook"

Hi colossus_r
Thank you for your support but when I tried your shortcut's parameter, so it didn't work. However, I solved the problem. I found the shortcut of callhistory, which I was once used and then I created new shortcut with "peopleupdate" tab.
The results - target of shortcut is:
"\Windows\ManilaShortcut.exe" people/browserlayer/peopleupdate

Hi m8
The code that i gave its for you to put the function in the left softkey and its tested and working fine with NRG roms in Blackstone.
Anyway the manilashortcut.exe its an alternative to manila.exe and if its working for you its OK.
And i am glad to help you to find a solution that works for you
