Have you tried to fastboot a recovery image?
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Where recovery.img is the full path to your correct recovery image on your computer
ie:
Code:
fastboot boot C:\recovery-RA-sapphire-1.5.2.img

i tried doing that but it said
FAILED <data transfer rate failure <too many links>>
**nvm, it worked now**

hm i'm still relatively new to Android, but don't you enter recovery mode through home + power and not menu + power?

wow, I could of sworn I used to be pressing menu + power..Guess I haven't flashed a new rom in a while.

I thought it was Back + Power!?

back + power (and volume down + power) gets you to a boot screen/status screen where you can check motherboard and radio.
home + power is how I've always gotten to the recovery screen

TWRP won't boot from device, only from PC.

I bought a cheap G8141 on ebay with a cracked screen and replaced the screen myself.
I unlocked its bootloader.
Then I attempted to flash twrp into its recovery with
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0-maple.img
using the latest twrp maple image.
It says it succeeded, but I can't actually get it to boot into TWRP using
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
or
Code:
adb reboot recovery
or by using any of the button press combinations (hold volume up or down + power, or power on and repeatedly press volume up or volume down).
I can only boot to twrp using
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-maple.img
instead.
I did root with magisk, and I also attempted to flash twrp to recovery from within twrp after booting directly like above, but it still won't work.
make sure your device is OFF and is NOT connected to a charger.
Then, while holding VOL-, press and hold PWR, and wait till you see TWRP.
Mine wouldn't boot into TWRP if it's on a charger, or if i'm rebooting. Only from the Device Off state.
I thought I tried it without the cable in, but i tried it again and it worked.

I think I just bricked my phone, Please help

Don't know what I did in TWRP recoverty, now I can't boot into to fastboot or recovery. Black screen with `MI` logo stuck there.
I did tried connecting with PC, adb showing
Code:
no device found
.
What can I do?
Try to enter twrp by pressing Volume up + Power button or fastboot mode - Volume down + Power button. Or let the phone discharge completely and then try the above key combinations.

CANNOT enter recovery mode proper

The issue: When booting I get the "bad key" boot text which hangs for about 10 seconds before going to splash.
When doing power button + volume up, the bad key hangs for so long that holding down power button just SHUTS THE PHONE OFF.
I can do power button + volume down to enter bootloader, and then enter recovery mode from there, but when I do that I get NO COMMAND
Ive also tried with adb
adb reboot recovery
same thing NO COMMAND
Everything that I google about NO COMMAND comes back with "oh just do power button + volume up duh" and each time I read that as a solution it makes me a little bit more angry.

Ive been following this guide to root my moto e6 and everything has been fine so far, but im stuck trying to install magisk. Magisk manager has already been installed, and I believe I have installed magisk. But I cannot boot into proper recovery to use it.
About to give up, hopefully someone can help
installed a bootlogo following this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e5/how-to/boot-logo-moto-e5-stock-bad-key-removed-t3869259
to see if that would help. No change. Cant boot into recovery mode proper.

bad key and/or N/A is just the phone saying it has an unlocked bootloader.
NO COMMAND when entering Recovery, yes, google is right. When you see NO COMMAND, press and HOLD the power button and TAP the volume up key. You should see at the top, Android Recovery and a bunch of options below. If you don't see this, your recovery partition was probably modified/corrupt. Flash the original recovery.img from a stock rom. I don't think there's a working E6 TWRP recovery image yet.
If you still haven't figured this out I have a possible fix. I found that upon first installing the magisk_patched.img from the guide you linked, everything booted up fine and magisk and root were working. I however made the mistake of booting normally...somehow this affects the magisk boot function in the recovery and gives the no command screen. I just fastboot flash recovery magisk_patched.img again and booted straight into recovery and that fixed it again. Just make sure once you have root again to use a program that allows you to boot back into recovery again directly.

You are not going to install magisk in stock recovery
Sent from my ocean using XDA Labs

G7 Power with Magisk 21.3 won't power on.

In case anyone else has the same problem:
After installing Magisk v21.3, the phone wouldn't power on. The usual post-install reboot did nothing. Pressing the power button did nothing.
Fixed it by accessing bootloader (power + vol down), then
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.5.0_9-0-ocean.img
and flashed the previous version.
Magisk v21.4 is working OK.
Wouldn't power on? Then how did you get it into fastboot mode?
It wouldn't power on using just the power button. I was able to get into fastboot mode using power + volume down.

[Bricked?] Stuck on Unlocked bootloader screen

Uninstalled magisk to update OTA to 6.8 (because it wouldnt work) then it just reboots and now its stuck here on the "blah blah your bootloader is unlocked"
OS: 11.0.6.7.kb05aa
wtf can i do, pc doesn't detect it?
Try the below hardware key combination to get into fastboot and flash your stock boot.img (from the correct rom) and see if that fixes it.
If not you can try to flash the latest rom through fastboot.
If that is not working you can always use the MSM/Unbrick tools (see posts in Guide forum) to restore completly to stock (Warning this will wipe your phone !)
To enter Fastboot and Recovery Modes using the physical button combination, you will first need to power off your OnePlus 8T completely. To do this, simply press and hold the Power button to bring up the Power menu and select ‘Power Off’.
Once you have done that:
Press and hold the ‘Volume Up’, ‘Volume Down’, and ‘Power’ keys together to enter Fastboot Mode
Press and hold the ‘Volume Down’ and ‘Power’ keys together to enter Recovery Mode

First try flashboot boot boot_b.img
If that work you can reset to fastboot again and do fastboot flash boot boot_b.img
