Hi all,
In normal MS Windows, you can right click a folder and have the option 'play with media player'. It then plays all the MP3's in that folder.
Is it possible to get this on Windows Mobile?
So that I can use File Explorer and press & hold on a folder and have an option to play the contents of the folder with Media Player.
I find doing this much easier than playlists and all that

Hi all,
I'm trying to create or to copy my playlist from the computer to my Magician, but I couldn't! I don't know how to do it.
If I copy the .WPL from my PC to Magician, it doesn't open. When I'm using the Pocket Microsoft Media Player 10, my library have a lists of Playlists, but it's always empty and I don't know how to create one.
Can anyone help me please?
The playlists hold a definitive list of where a file is stored. If you have the stuff in "my music" then the files will be in c:\Documents And Settins\ (Username)\My Documents\My Music, and as such all files in the playlist will be listed in this location, and as this location does not exist in the device, it cannot find the files. You also need to copy the actual music files across, not just the wma files (Music files are mp3, wma, etc.)
If you want to use the device as an MP3 player, you should really get a storage card to store the music on.

I think you got me wrong. I already have a Storage Card and about 100 WMA files. The Library on MP is OK, but I have no Customized Playlists. That's what I want.
Got it?
Thanks!
Ok as to making playlists in Pocket Windows Media Player, i have no idea. i just had a look at my universal and i cant see the option.
Hoiwever, in the program that i use instead of WMP (Pocket music from pocketmind.com), you can make, view and edit playlist easily, plus it has a nice today screen plugin.
so one can not make new playlists in windows media player
The Pocket PC version of Windows Media Player does not allow you to create or edit playlists. But there is a freeware program for it!

Any tip for this !!!
re:
HI THere are umpteen no. of Third Party playlist editors available.
you can create & Manage playlists using these TPA's
you can create a playlist on your PC and sync the whole list, using windows media player of your PC.
Then the playlist will be in a folder "Playlists" (the Music will go to "Music").
All my mp3 files are not being recognized within file explorer?? Properties still shows them as MP3s but I can't play them therefore they are not recognized as ringtones or songs
It started when I tried Nitrogen player but did not like it so I took it off and now all my mp3 files will not play. If I go through media player or S2P I can play them but my phone will not recognize any of these so it will not play them as ringtones anymore... I reinstalled Nitrogen and they can play through file explorer BUT still no ringtones... What the ... did I do?
I did a reg restore and and I removed all of Nitrogen through SK files search but still no go... Ahy ideas
Edit: I changed all my mp3s in the system to wmas and its working. i dont get it.
My guess would be that its screwed up the file associations on the uninstall. To re-associate, go to an MP3 file in file manager and open the context menu (either press & hold on the file on screen or hold your dpad button). You should get a menu with an "Open With Program..." option. Select that, choose "Windows Media" and tick the "Associate selected program with this file type" box.

Some versions of WinMo/File Explorer dont appear to have the "Open With" option. In this case you should be able to use an external file association program such as BadSchwii's

Can anyone provide me with Windows media player playlist creator ... So that i can create playlist on computer and save it on mobile to play it ...
Moved as not software release.
Don't use WMP on phone but surely it can read .m3u playlist files? PocketPlayer does
So you can create the playlist on computer "i use Winamp" then just copy files and .m3u to phone.
Hi,
attached cab is a little playlistmanager.
with friendly greet

I am using this freeware, Playlist Creator, on my WinXP PC.
http://www.oddgravity.de/app-opc.php
easier way
Well neither of those suggestions work on my HTC HD2 especially considering m3u is not native to WMP
so..
You can either create your playlists in Windows Media Player on PC but obviously with the files on your phones memory card, and choose File -> Save Now playing List as...
then choose 'any type' and call your playlist 'untitled.asx' or whatever as long as it ends in asx
otherwise i used Winamp its much easier to create playlists (m3u) and/or if you already have .m3u's just drag and drop them into the now playing in WMP and save as above
- save any .asx to the root folder of music drive of your phone
hope thats clear enough

I have tried the built in media player, doubletwist and also 'MixZing' I can't seem to figure out how to navigate to a particular folder to play an .mp3. What am I missing here?
I do not know how to do this from the player but here is what work:
Open File Manager (My Files)
Navigate to the folder
Double click the first mp3 file in the folder
File manager will offer a list of music players to play the file. The player will then proceed to play the files from the folder
In general, it seems like the use of tags in MP3 files is the way to go though.
Great tip! I never thought to use "My Files" since I normally use ES File manager, but that works great! Thank you.
So I am not doing anything wrong, these options are just not part of these players?
Im not sure I understand the question. Whatever files i have on my sd card show up in Video player/ Music Player, or whatever files the player is capable of playing, no matter where they are on the sd card.
The built in player doesn't have a file explorer
The built in player doesn't have a file explorer, but it should have all your compatible files indexed. It has an ok search function that you can use to find what you are looking for after you enter the app. click on the search touch button on the bottom right of your phone.
