Looking for a wifi strength widget.. - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Do you know of a wifi strength widget, i.e. tells you what the connection strength is when connected.
Tried searching the market, only wifi togglers.
edit: Retro wifi widget does it.

Wifi analyzer rocks as well

it does, but its not a widget.

I can't remember if the stock theme does this but Nextheme's wifi icon changes in the notification bar depending on strength. I don't know your exact needs but assuming you didn't know that might work.

I remember there was one with one on the themes for ahome mini. Install it , then go and download widgets from within the app and in there is the wifi widget.

Will that aHome widget work with Home++ ?
I have separate SD,RAM,APP_HDD digital meters...right now the retro analog wifi meter looks like the odd man out. Also looking for a CPU usage 1x1 widget, preferably a vertical progressbar.

Why do you want a bunch of widgets that are going to run down your battery and slow down your phone?
Stock android, even themed ones, have a wifi icon in the notification bar that tells you the strength of the signal. As for SD usage, not sure why you would have to keep that close of an eye on it to have a widget on your home screens. RAM, well I guess, but the widget itself is going to use up RAM and I don't really think the N1 is at a loss for RAM, to say the least. APPs, I suppose, you can also hold down the home button for a couple seconds and the list of apps running will pop up.

It worked on the default home. The widget will be downloaded on the sd card. copy it from there to a sfae place and then get rid off the ahome.

Just used to getting a overview of my superphone status with a glance.
The built wifi-meter always is at 1 or 2 bars, so its not very helpful. Nice to see the actual strength in dBm.
Holding the home button down shows you 6 recent apps, they need not be running. AppSwipe shows you exactly whats running.

[REG] Status Pull down wifi, BT, Network, GPS Toggles

Would it be possible to get WIFI, GPS, BT, and maybe Network Toggles built into the pull down status bar? Like the galaxy S has.
you could try bar control or bar tender from the market, they allow you to add things like this to your status bar. They both take up room up top though, even if you can't see them.
Yeah I tried those but they took up to much space as they were vertically. I found one app in the market that basically put the power control bar in the status pull down but the app was really poorly written.
Would love to see if somebody could whip this up.
Thanks

Launch apps directly from notification bar?

Looking for an app to launch apps/shortcuts from the notification bar.
I have the recent tasks thing on my pull down, and I'm looking for something like that but where I can pick my apps/shortcuts. (IE, pull down the notification bar and one ONE line have 4+ icons of my favorite apps. Slide the bar left & right for more apps).
I don't want a program that I can launch from the notification bar that in turn pops up a folder of icons (Folder Organizer, App Launcher both can do this). That's one click too many.
No home button or hold search either - if I wanted that, I'd go back to Power Strip
Thanks for any help. Having no luck in the market again. I'm starting to think it's simply not do-able or I'd have found it by now.

ToggleBar is the closest I've seen.
Thanks, that's one I have not seen. I like how it's a combination launcher/toggle/contact. Needs some work. Would like to know why we have to do the extra step (pull down bar, launch this app, launch app you actually want to use).
Also suffers from ugly icon on tray (I guess I can modify the apk). Also wonder why you have to have an icon (an invisible square is no help either) - other apps don't need to have something in the bar to be available on the drop down.
Will try this one out.
Currently using Calendar in Status bar Trial which I have set to launch Organized Drawer - but at least the icon is functional (showing the day & date).
Also - noticed an app called ncut, but crashes on my phone, possible gingerbread problem.

wifi icon in notification bar on ICS

I've updated to the official HTC ICS release, using the flashable ROMs created on here from the OTA file.
All is great, loving ICS so far.
One thing I've noticed, the little icon on the top bar to show I am connected to a wifi point is grey, with just the little circle bit white , as though it was a low signal strength. This is with it next to the router. Apps like network signal info aren't showing any signal %age at all, not even a 0. It's working fine though, speedtest apps give excellent scores.
When I go into wifi settings and scan for access points, those are correct. My router is fully white, whilst ones around on the street are various levels of whiteness.
It's just that notification icon, and the signal strength in apps, that is not showing.
Any ideas?
Reboot, and then it's back to normal.
Too simple

Are you kidding? As the phone is rebooting I'm thinking did they mean the phone or the router. When the phone comes back on and all my bars are there I'm like could it have been simpler? No I guess it couldn't have.

[Q] Status Bar AOKP Icons

So I have decided i wanted to change out the factory status bar data icons for the ones in sense (i like those 10x better)
so playing around with the SystemUI.apk I was able to do so, but the icons now overlap the signal icons. I have tried decompiling the framework and using that method to shift over the data icons to where the wifi icon normally shows up BUT instead it not only moves the data icons but it also moves the signal bars over along with it. Is there any way I can "break" the data icons away from the signal bars? and have them both in independent spaces instead of being "connected" together.
Screenshot attached below.
So been tinkering with it a bit more, no matter what I do with the icons refuse to go to the left of the signal icon but can make them go to the right of the signal icons no problems. If I even attempt to try making the icons align to the left it just drags the signal icons with the data icons.
anyone have any ideas?
heres a screenshot of what i did manage to get so far.
Replace the gingerbread style icons and then select the alternate GB style signal bars in ROM Control.

Will have to give that a go didnt even think about that one, thanks!
That turned out almost perfect, the icons are where they should be, when it polls for data the icon gets small but thats something i can live with just glad i can be rid of the AOKP data icons

That's a widget thing only. Remove it in back-screen-setting.

i want to say , its Status bar ( download icon, wifi, clock, gsm,...) not is widget notification.
I fully second this. Also after like an hour of inactivity, clocks on the EPD stop updating properly. For example its 01:21, but the clocks on my Y3+ (updated from Y3) still show 01:03. Only the clock on the status bar are correct, but first of all, I don't want the status bar on my EPD, and secondly they are too small to consider them convenient at that point anyway.
Would really, really love to hear about solutions to both of those issues :-| The status bar has no reason to exist on the back of the phone. I just wish Y3+ was just a Y2 in regards to the EPD.
workaround for me is to enable the lockscreen with the second screen app but just leave it empty - so I just get a blank white screen with the locked icon and nothing else - most importantly: no statusbar.
most of the apps I use on the e-ink side have fullscreen support, so it doesnt annoy me during actual use.
but yeah, bit of a weird thing to not give us any settings for.
Ye, for me, the "actual use" for a phone with always on screen is seeing a nic clock (and other info) on its back. Thats the most important, seeing clock/weather/notifications/potentially other widget thingies (I inda liked the step countner on the chinese version). But the status bar is something that's not usable "at a glance", its too small for that so it has no place there.
But lately, I'm most annoyed by the clocks not updating properly when the phone is in sleep mode for a few hours, I can't trust the clock anymore, f*ck I hate that about it so much.

It's a late response, but I'm glad I'm not the only one with the time sync problem. I miss the YotatHub clock and battery widgets :-(
I finally discovered how to fix it:
Go to Settings -> Battery -> Click upper right 3 dots -> Choose 'Battery optimization' -> Choose clock app -> Click 'Don't optimize' -> Click 'Done' and you're done! Now your clock will always update
