How to change language of weather location? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

My HD2 has Traditional Chinese interface, but I don't know why the weather location is showing in English. I've tried deleting the city and re-adding it (the name of the city is showing in Chinese), but location is still in English.
Does anyone know how to change the settings? Thanks!

Hi mate,
Can I ask where you got your Traditional Chinese rom from? I've been looking for one to see what the rom is like.
cheers

hi,
I bought it in Hong Kong. It's pre-installed with Chinese version.

I think you could either edit the weather database file, or replace it with the same file taken from a Western WWE ROM (it´s inside the Windows folder, "2330fc3c_manila", the size is around 800k).
I used to do this when using a WWE ROM, but changing Manila´s language to my local language. This way, I had all the cities in my own language...

Does making this change also change the weather description from WWE to locale?

How to edit the unlock screen?

I've just noticed that the unlock screen clock doesn't work with some rom's if the language is changed to something else than what the cooker set as standard. E.g. if I'm using the WM6 HTC Edition with the US English lang., the clock is there. If I set the lang. to German (yes, installed all the localisation files I could find), the clock is not on the unlock screen.
I've found some registry settings for the clock under HKLM\Software\HTC\clock however, none of the settings there indicate more of a language dependance than as for the text what's written on the "Unlock" button.
I've searched quite a bit now but can't find out how to edit that unlock screen so the clock/date works for my/any language.
Can someone help me with that please? Thanks!
copy ClockControlPanel.dll.0409.mui to ClockControlPanel.dll.0407.mui (for german) . From \Windows
aditionally, you can translate the strings from that file into german with Resource Hacker.
Thank you for the answer DSF, unfortunatelly those .mui files are the wrong ones. ClockControlPanel.dll is the panel you can access through Settings-more-Unlock Screen Clock. That's the panel where you can enable/disable the clock. That file's already present and translated and removing/replacing it has no influence, the clock just won't appear in the unlock screen as long as german is the active language.
You have to add this to the registry:
HKLM\Software\HTC\clock\Lang0407\
Add a string parameter "Unlock" with your translation as a value.
That value is already there. Besides, the lack of button translation is NOT the issue. The problem is that if I set the phone to use the german localisation THERE IS NO CLOCK OR DATE on the unlock page.
If it's set to english, I can see the clock and date, if I set it to german, all there is is the "how to unlock" info and the "unlock" button.
But thanks anyway.
Maybe some HTC mui file is missing then. I made czech localization based on Vox files and unlock clock is working when using it (I just have to add that key to the registry - not necessary in the latest Andot's version as it was already included). There are three HTC mui files in Vox rom: HtcColdBoot.exe.XXXX.MUI, HTCMessage.exe.XXX.mui, HTCSettings.dll.XXXX.mui.
I've got all those HTC files for the german version. Checked them with Resource Hacker, none have anything to do with the clock (coldboot is something about configuration and reboot, settings is for the WLAN and message contains a few translated warning messages).
The idea aint too wrong though as that unlock screen clock seems to be an HTC feature (non htc wm phones lack it afaik).
Weirdest thing is that (iirc) I had the clock when using a manually german localized version of Andot's "WM6.for.C600.chs.eng.cleartype" rom. And I had used the same localisation files I use now.

Google Latitude - Language UI

Hi to all,
Does anybody know how to change UI language in Google Latitude?
Mine reads regional settings and gives me whole UI in local language, and I prefer it in english.
But there is no way to change the language.
It is so annoying that I am on the verge to uninstall Google Latitude because of that.
Thanx in advance!
Google will per default direct you to your local language. I think it is possible to "trick" it to get you an English version
Just look around at the download page, should be a "change language" option for the download.
Google Latitude
Sorry Snapphane, but you are not right.
I have downloaded Google Latitude using my computer with all english settings.
Also, I tried to change regional settings on the phone, and if the settings US, then the program 'speaks' english. When I change it back to other country, it changes UI language to that country.
I was asking if there are hidden settings (some registry tweaks, maybe) to keep Google Maps (Latitude) using english for UI.
Delete the language files that are in the GoogleMaps folder.
I had the same problem so before installation of GoogleMaps I changed the regional settings to English. After installation I deleted the language files (only kept "gmm_launcher.dll", "gmm_setup.dll" and "GoogleMaps.exe".) and changed the regional settings to my native. GoogleMaps stayed English
Works!
Thank you Bulls-eye1!!!
Well, that was easier than I thought. Nice solution m8, thanks!

Which one is the language file?

[Q] Missing languages

I bought the Nexus S in the US for a friend in Poland as it would ultimately be cheaper. I noticed that the Polish language is not present in the language selection menu which is odd considering that it is present in the 2.3 SDK.
I can change the phone's locale using MoreLocale2, but system menus and other text are still in English -- the language pack itself is missing.
Is there anything that could be done to add the Polish language pack? Does the Nexus S even come with Polish in Europe?
So far from the searching I've done, it seems that there's no way to go about doing this unless I make my own ROM with the language pack included. That's unfortunate, really. I'll probably have to return the phone, then.

[Q] Changing map language display from english to chinese

I use english language bing map when i am outside of asia, but now that i am back i want my map to display chinese font instead of english...
I am living in asia right now, and when i open bing map it still displays in English font (like english translation of the city name or street name, ie. 台北 it will show as taipei (for those who can read chinese))
I have went into settings "region + language" but i cannot switch the display language as it is greyed out. I tried changing the region format, system locale and browser/search language to chinese but that doesnt work also...
How come display language is greyed out?? can i change that or is that preset with each mobile phone
I have an unlocked (Non-branded) HTC Mozart 7
Thanks!

Change Language?

Is there any way to change the language file on this phone?
A client came in and hade bougt an unlocked SM-G925P, but when i change language in the settings the whole UI doesn't get translated, and autocorrect suggests English words instead of Swedish.
I suppose it's an US-only modell with no Nordic Roms?
If so. Is there any way ti hack it? :/
