This is such old news. Sorry to disappoint you. While the N1 may be new, Android is not.

or you could just download the dolphin browser for FREE that does this, as well as replaces the crap default browser with a better one.

****, I paid two bucks for this ****..lol
I like it it auto converts them to MP4, and I can share with ipod/other phones

The MP4 is the YouTube native file... it's not converting.

You can also get the url link and get the video thruogh keepvid.com. It also let you save videos from dailymotion, metcafe and a few other sites fyi.

Very true. Dolphin may very well be the best mobile browser to date. I own the YouTube Downloader (now TubeDroid) since before Dolphin exists so I feel obligated to keep it on my phone.

Always look for a free way of doing things before buying stuff on the market (and read the comments cos people often advise on better alternatives)

Im not bad mouthing it, I just should've searched a little better, I still use it as I like it better than dolphin browser

Hi,
I'm the developer of TubeDroid, and I believe it has a few advantages over the built-in Dolphin YouTube downloading:
- there's a built-in player for those who don't like using the Gallery
- videos are placed in a specific folder with a name other then "video.mp4"
- you can choose the quality (low, high, 720p)
Thanks!

[APP] Free Live Cable Channels for Nexus One

Live Tv
Get TV Live TV from the market. Live channels include, MSNBC,ESPN, FOX NEWS, GOLF CHANNEL, CNN, CARTOON NETWORK, DISCOVERY CHANNEL, NBC, ETC. I don't know how he's doing it, but I have MOBITV on my Fuze and AT&T charged me 9.99 a month for some of these same channels. All you need is Froyo 2.2 + Adobe 10.1. Another note, his streams are better ahead of TV MSNBC, or a few seconds behind. However, the quality is much better than paid app MOTV, and video sound is in perfect sync with picture. I wish i could rate it 10 stars for MSNBC alone.
Interesting mind posting a link? Through http://www.cyrket.com/ maybe?
What's the name of the app. I couldn't find it on the market.
eh if he's talking about http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.d3fc0n.android.livetv/
then it sucks..
Doesn't this just load through the browser?

Don't know what problem you are having with this app, but it works perfectly for me. You already posted that it sucks. That's your experience not mine. I can tell you the streams are way better quality then mobitv app, and most importantly it's free. Instead of being 2 minutes behind regular TV it's only a few seconds. Show's exactly what is being shown on TV. No video bull****. Live stream and puts it all in one place, so you don't have to go searching for these channels. I have the app on my desktop. One click to open and then go to channel I want to view, few seconds later it loads the stream. Watched some of Golf tournament on ESPN and looking at show on MSNBC now. What you want a TV guide with time of shows? It's free and it does what it needs to.

Oh so that is the app? It does suck. It seem like it just loads from a browser. The video isn't displaying very well as it scrolls. It very well may be better then mobitv as I never used it if so that is a shame. It doesn't show live streaming for me I checked my tv and compared. The same show wasn't even showing. (maybe it's because of the location I am at? Chicago by the way.) But I guess for a free app it's alright..

How hard is it to type in TV LIVE in the search bar in market? Unbelievable. You can lead a horse to water...
Ya, I tried it, not a big fan. Just opens streams in the browser.
i wouldnt say the app sucks cause it does work! However its a lil rough around the edges.
Yeah thanks for the suggestion. It is a little rough but definitely FREE and worthy of the post. It also looks like this app got released THIS WEEK! Some people were just born to hate. Look at "leofroyo's" first page on his thread to see examples of the douchebaggery around here sometimes. Again thanks!

Yep. Credit goes to the Dev. I'm just putting everyone on. I've been watching it on WIFI and it is cool for me. Don't know why anyone wouldn't give it 5 stars, cause it's free. Live channels all in one place, easy to access as shortcut on home screen. and "FREE". Once again it's FREE. LOL. Check out 1TVPC too if the economy isn't breaking you. It's affordable, unlike Jetflicks TV, it has live streams, movies on demand, sports, boxing etc.
I gota agree with the op an this one. I dont know how this app is working for everyone else but its workin pretty good for me. It does seems like its loadin from the browser tho an is alil choppy at times but other than that it works great

AGREE!-Its a little rough on the UI side but overall the function is there and thats what counts. If many of you bothered to read the devs description, its his FIRST EVER APP--cut him some slack...i get all local OTA channels 100%fine and some even 2-3secs earlier than my HAVA box (exact same as SLING but better IMO). My only complaint is low volume, and i would be more than willing to pay $5-SO LONG as he keeps adding channels and removing expired links/dead channels. ALSO my friend, you are the dev if im not mistaken but you are for some odd reason telling people to search for TV LIVE!??Why? If its called Live TV!?? I still cannot find a single app called exactly "TV LIVE"--maybe im talking about a completely different app, but this one is made by a Miguntu labs-i cant imagine someone not knowing the name of their own app tho--nwo im wondering....

Looks like this site just started up. They only have 9 tv episodes so far to watch. The movie section ends up taking you to another site where you have to sign up to see them, plus it only looks like a free trial for the movies, not sure, didnt want to take the time. I doubt this would work on HDMI since it is browser based using flash. I would say the site has potential if they can get some more content going.

Are you talking about iphonemoviez or some other site? From what I can tell the only reason that site plays thru HDMI is because it loads the movie into the HTC streaming video player which has HDMI out support. If anyone else know of sites that can stream using the HTC steaming video player that would be great knowledge to have...
Thanks for sharing, I have hulu on the phone but you can never have enough..
anyone filled out the credit card section thought?
I don't get it. It just looks like a bunch of links to pirated videos on megavideo. Nothing special really. There are a million questionable video hosts like that and with a Flash enabled browser you should be able to watch any of them.

Just a heads-up...there are also a few sites that regularly run feeds of all the NFL games. Since they use Flash video, guess what phone plays them perfectly I got to watch the Ravens (lose) on the way home from the shore this past Sunday. It was nice.

Well, while I don't claim to be innocent of watching unlicensed streams every now and then, I'm not gonna go posting them here Seriously I found one good site after a single Google search and it has had all of the games so far. Basically just links to different people streaming their capture card input on any one of the popular live streaming sites. It's silly that they make it so hard to watch games when it's obviously no replacement for a real HD channel but then again charging out the ass is the hallmark of professional sports so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Gotta sell those overpriced Sunday Ticket packages somehow...

Very true and I'm fine with that but I don't always feel like doing all kinds of hacks to get a Verizon app authorized on my phone when I could just bookmark a page. To each his own I guess.
this works for menial tasks like seeing scores, but streaming crashes my phone running baked snack after awhile. trying to watch redzone on sunday after awhile the program crashes and the only way to get things back to normal is to pull the battery.
I've been trying to run it in 4G but it doesn't log in at all. But as far as running in 3G I can watch view and do anything without any issues. Kinda sucks but I love having the app again.

gotcha, I do that with most stuff, actually like the LIVE TV app just streams to "one of those web pages", so in that sense the app is pretty much useless, just bookmark the pages. I just miss that NFL app on my Sprint phone!!!!!!!!!!!
how could you let verizon outbid you on THIS ONE sprint

I actually like the new sprint football app... they really can't do much more than what they have done with it since they lost the rights to the nfl games.
I also love the NFL app... I just know it is temporary and will have to be redone all the time =| I did actually watch my skinz beat the boys on my phone from start to finish without any issues other than hitting deadspots for a signal..was great!
This app works great. Occasionally cuts out here and there, but not bad for the price!
I was bummed to see that Sprint lost the sponsorship to Verizon, glad this works.
So is there any charges or other terms not mentioned as far as paying for this app monthly or is it completely free?

I'm assuming this will be a super noob question as no one ever asks but going to ask anyway.
Why is the Hulu fix/hack/edit any diff than this? So long as we can fool a browser into think it's a full desktop, why couldn't we stream through that instead of depending on an app to do it? #flamejacketon

I can't give a definite answer but I would assume that any content would run smoother/better through the app then a hacked browser.

this.
Besides, this same thread has been posted countless times, a simple search would've shown that. We are waiting for it to be released by Netflix, as our processor has the necessary security needed for the app to be released.
I do believe though, that we will have to wait until the LG Revolution is released to the public before we can get the app, as I suspect LG and Netflix have an exclusivity deal going, so LG can sell some phones.
Then again, I may be and have been wrong.

Netflix on android won't be using silverlight though. It could use Moonlight http://www.mono-project.com/Moonlight, but support for that on linux is far worse than flash and would probably be even more of a battery killer, so I'm guessing they will port whatever they use for iOS on the iphone/ipad to android.
There's no way the iphone version of netflix (which has been out for a while) uses silverlight (jobs would never allow that), so I am guessing they will probably just use the same libraries for android that they have for iOS and create a wrapper around that with java to create an executable.

Netflix has always used silverlight, at least as far as I have known. And yareally
is probably right about how they are going to go about it.
The main reason why Winmo 7 had/has so fast netflix is because of silverlight and the native ability (I believe) for it to run on winmo.

[Q] Justin.tv/Twitch.tv App

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about a justin.tv or twitch.tv app?
All I could find was a kinda dusty thread on the twitch.tv forums.
Probably the only thing I really miss having on WP7, gotta have my fix for Starcraft 2 streams and others. I remember ustream had an app, but it was pretty awful and I can't even find it anymore.

i guess it is because the streams that justin tv handle are flash-based. Someone correct me if im wrong. I don´t know about the stream protocols on ustream, but since wp7 has no support for flash, a workaround is needed... even though, there are apps for sites like the old megavideo, i guess an app like that is a start point in terms of code...
Our last hope would be to wait until the release of windows phone 8, where there'll be support for native code. In that case it will be easier for someone to code such app...
But like you i certainly hope that this arrives soon to wp7 cuz i love to watch my favorite channels on jtv too and i'd love to be able to watch them while in the subway, when going to, or from work... cuz i do almost 2 hours daily just on transport
There is Jviewer
