Is there a converter app? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi,
Is there a converter app for converting things like volume (eg litres to gallons), length (eg cm to inches), currency etc?
Cheers

I'm sure there are good alternatives here on XDA but for my part I have long used Trancreative MX Converter. It is a commercial product and not at all new (or recently updated) but in my opinion it does a very good job at converting a huge number of units in different categories. It also does currency - and new updates for currency value can be downloaded through the application. And it handles WVGA.
Have a look at www.trancreative.com

Thanks for this link. Why does it say buy it now on the webpage, but I've downloaded it and installed for free? Am I going to be charged for it at some point? $14.95 is a bit steep, well very steep

Cheers mate, basic but does the trick

If you want something that looks fancy take a look at uConvert... only problem is it seems to suffer from ugly gradients thanks to good old WM.

It works as a free trial for 15 days I think. Then you must register or the program stops working.
There are already pointers here to free and cheaper applications that does much of the same job as MXConverter but in my opinion; if I can't spend 15$ on an application then I don't really need it much...
That is not to say that I would not prefer to get it for free mind you...

No problem... I believe the free version doesn't even have a time limit, just doesn't let you update the currency rates. So you don't even have to spend the $1 to buy it.

Call/SMS/Data Monitoring and reporting Software

Hi,
I've been looking for software that will monitor and report on usage for calls, smses and data, on which reports can be done, as well as be able to customize the tarriffs for the contract plan I'm on.
I found LCMinutes, but its not what i'm looking for. Does anyone have other ideas?
Thanks
Hi, I'm also trying to found some useful monitoring software as I don't really thrust my mobile network provider). The following information will make me happy (especially when found in a nice, black, very clean, very simple, htc-hd2 kind of look ):
Monthly amount of call minutes in and out
Option to make a call out that is less than a minute to count as a whole minute
Monthly data in and out
Hope someone knows of such program. If I had the skills.. I would have made it myself.
Regards,
Nils

Thanks for your response! However, that program, isn't that a bit of an overkill?

SPB monitor will help with data in and out, but it is not free, you can trial in for 15 days I think http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/wirelessmonitor/
Not sure about the first 2, got to say I was shocked it doesnt show more on usage in WinMo.

I totally agree! i even had a look on SPB, but their closest was SPB Wireless - not much help with what I'm looking for... PhoneAlarm looks like it could be very good, but i have to agree and say its somewhat overkill in what it does have... With the WinMo 6.5 interface on HD2, if it could plugin as a tab? all the better, but then i would have liked it to be able to do general reporting from the tab as well...
Am i asking too much here? I spose pedanticism has its limitations...
Is there by any accident someone here who would be able to create something like this in notime?

Thats very nice, or would be if it could be created.
I found there is 'some' usage info in HD2, under Software information of all places.

Thanks, there is indeed some information there, though it is the total amount of usage. I would like to see some monthly data (generated from the monthly start day put in by the user, preferably your bill date of course).
LSMinutes gets close, but is too complex and too bad looking (no offence to the creator here, you're free to use my template ).
Other programs like homescreen++ seem to be an even greater overkill, or is it just me that thinks so?
If anyone would like to use the template that I created earlier in this topic, I could deliver *.PNGs or whatever..

Nils

nobody willing to give this a bash? I'm using SPB Wireless, and its good, to a degree, but its only monitors data connections on the phone, and.... well, i was hoping a dev out there could get a working app to watch it all

and there - neatly encapsulated - you have the reason why people don't bother developing great s/w like hipstamatic for winmo. it's too easy to crack, people are not used, or inclined, to pay for apps like this, so why should they bother.
i would love (and would pay for) hipstamatic for my hd2.
sorry
me too ,who can share it
vintage pic is not that great. having used hipstamatic for quote some time and changing to HD2, I'm a little disappointed that there isn't a decent camera app for winmo.I'm still waiting to hear about something coming out for this phone. i would pay for hipstamatic again to use on my HD2.
Hey guys,
As an Ex-iphone user, i loved too playing around with photo applics that add effects to pictures, i.e. vintage look, polaroid etc... Can you recommend on any applications for HD2 of the same nature?
I have found VintagePic in the marketplace, but i can't purchase it since my credit card does not match any of the countries in the list. Any other suggestions?
Thanks, Guy
just one option! sucks!
is really possible it? there is not only one application for windows mobile?!

[REQUEST] Beeradvocate app

Any devs out there that are micro brew fanatics?
More than once I wished Beeradvocate (the defacto standard for beer review websites) had an Android app.
Sure you could always use the website from the standard browser, but the formatting has a lot to be desired. (Tiny links, general page formatting type things).
So anyone out there care to give it a shot?

Thats what I was drinking last night when I though to post this thread..
I'd try my hand at it, I can do a little "programming" in PHP, but I don't know the first thing about coding on Android other than its mostly java..
Just finished searching the market for something that works with beeradvocate. Sipping a nice local ale at the moment and wanted to rate it
Would LOVE this app.
We have CAMRA here (Campaign for Real Ale) and their apps sucks and is overpriced.
My buddy is a beer geek, and a java programmer for a living, wish he were an android guy..
The Beer Expert app uses beer advocate ratings, I believe.
Edit: it uses rate beer. Still a very good app. Definitely worth the price.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Theres an app for that in the market, but i forgot the name Dx
Yay, beer! Count me in!
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Being Irish i love my beer i use the Android Beer Directory app and while this is good it's missing from it's database many many beers those include one of my favourites Cobra beer, can anyone recommend any other similar beer apps, ive searched the market and the Android Beer Directory is the best of a bad bunch when it comes to beer apps.
I would love a BA app!
I do use a little app called Brewster right now to track beers I have had. It does a decent job and seems to have a pretty good number already added that you can rate.
Also has the ability to link with friends and look at beers they have rated.
No substitute, but a decent stopgap
This would be cool. Too many craft beer events in NYC to keep up with. www.theponybar.com
while we're on requests would love to see iStrain app for Android. It has a list and description of cannabis strains.

Facebook button

hello,
facebook button lite isn't free, any free method the revamp it?
thank you.
anyone hava apk file please upload here
It's created by a forum user, and I don't see why you can't pay the 99p (UK) for the functionality.
On the other hand, if you can't buy it in your country I'd suggest getting hold of the developer and see if they will provide an APK for a small fee.
I'm not a mod, but piracy is definitely not allowed on the XDA forums.
Don't be cheap, just pay for it!
1 - 99p is too much for me, too damn high!
2 - the developer could have made it FREE, launcher pro is free, but too damn complicated!
3 - I've seen a way to change some files on the phone, but lost the thread.
4 - thanks r2b2 for your PRECIOUS advice.

Sorry stayfidz, my post was really in reply to the first reply asking for an APK.
No offence intended.
Good on you for wanting to do it yourself.
I also looked into doing it manually but apart from using it as a wake/sleep/volume replacement button I couldn't find a way to map it to an application.
That was quite a while ago now though, so something might have surfaced in a thread somewhere.
no prb r2b2
I can't buy this app, due to my location, wanted to make a paypal account before, but laziness was here.
Any way, i use the app, for system control, and found this enough for now.
Wanted to use the F button, for ES file explorer, since the F is for Folders!!!.

0.99 is the minimal price Google Play allows to set for a paid app.

Firstly, the free Launcher Pro version lacks some nice functions (fancy widgets, widget resizing). In turn, its full version, Launcher Pro Plus, costs $2.99. The same with F-Button: there is a free version with less functions, and a full version for a small price.
Secondly, you are totally welcome to invest some of your time to develop an alternative app and share it for free. Actually, I created the F-Button because the competing app costed 2 euro and could only launch applications - and I believed this is too much for such a simple function.

Other pro functions are exporting accounts of a single book to pdf format, as well as taking backup/restore of your database.
I don't know why the prices aren't showing though. Shows up fine in a friends phone.

It has the right amount of features. Just need one more where we can take pics of receipts. Then it will be perfect for me. Others apps are confusing because of too many unnecessary features.

Thank you!! That was definitely one of our objectives. To keep the UI good, and not lose out on the essential features!
I'll see what I can do about your suggestion too
It is a good app I like the design and the simplicity. From what I have seen it is nice to not have a ton of features that I may not use but adding little by little will really get people fluid into your app. One thing I like (my personal opinion) is the ability to do a transaction from one account or in this case FOLIO to another so maybe that could be a feature you think of adding next.
