Damn, I have to leave to work in 30 min, otherwise a port would be coming soon.
Wow, they're starting to dump code into AOSP.
I'll see if I can build something later tonight.

I'll be waiting
Now if only it was the actual Nexus, and not Android at 2.1
there's nothing yet on vendor/htc, so building it will be a task. Hopefully they'll toss something there after that so we can just run make and have enough to boot. I can work out the bugs afterwards.
Oh i hope new contacts provider is on the way
no change on the contacts provider yet, plus all the commits are empty, darn, I wanted a look at the Launcher2 code before leaving for work
Sounds like the new gallery might be included?
New link added.
yeah, there's a new gallery package, I love it, it separates the gallery from the camera app (something I had done with the original eclair dump, I stripped out all the camera/camcorder code).
There's a gallery, gallery 3d, desktop clock, launcher2, improvider, management provider, eas service, lock and wipe, and a wallpapers package, plus other misc hardware and building stuff
Alright, leaving for work. I hope they don't dump anything else until tomorrow when I can start working on it . Cheers.
Drooling over here. Bring it on!
are the drivers in there for the camera

no, drivers(camera/video/etc) are proprietary to the vendor (HTC) and most likely will never make it into the open source project. We need either HTC to release the drivers or reverse engineer them as NCommander is currently working on.

Ohhhhh yeeees. Thats what I wanted to see. Animated wallpapers would be soooo awesome. Ramhack kernels may cause problems with it. But this is great.
But can the G1/Mt3G really handle the power of live-wallpapers?
How much ram would that take up by itself without including things like ram-hack?

Any reason this wouldn't work with my Tmo MyTouch? What's the full Exchange support like? Does this feature the HTC dialer too?
(Whoa. Just figured out that swiping up in a typing area with the HTC keyboard switches to caps. Cool.)
UPDATES: this ROM is working for me on T-Mo, HTC dialer, HTC "Exchange-support" mail client, which is awesome. Full mail / contacts / calendar support, as mentioned. However, I'm unable to get the wireless to connect to my home wifi (WPA), which was working with Cyan 4.0.4 just prior to this. Also, doesn't look like it is allowing my T-Mo data plan, or something
Thoughts?
Optimize.
I might give this port a shot. However, you should try to further optimize the features. I realize that it's still in progress...but suggestions will come flying in once you build a following.
Snag some more of Cyanogen's coding/sources and you'll be golden!
CREDIT him for the work he has put in though. I mean, after all you've already incorporated some of it...so why stop there?
allla,
Once I get done w/ work, I'll post the files you need to give full language support to the rom. It'll save you from all the edit'ing. It's only a few. I'll also give you the lastest apn list that I have included in my Rogers build for the G1. It has some more that Cyanogen's rom is missing. Nice work. I'm thinking about getting a MyTouch myself. lol. Take care.

Will allow allow for full T-Mo + data support? If so, oh man... it'd be sweet
Ok, so I went ahead & zip'ed them up for you & made sure they stated HTC Magic instead of a T-Mobile G1. If you look @ the xml files, you'll understand what I meant about saving you some time editing them. You might need a wipe after re-flashing your new build. Hope that saves you some time. You'll see everything is layed out as it should be in the rom. The only other suggestion I have that might help you out is, if you're using Cyanogen's kernel & you want compcache, & all the other great stuff he adds to his kernel, you might want to add his modules directory from the same kernel build. Then edit your boot.img's init.rc accordingly. That's all completely up to you. If you extract his boot.img you'll understand what I mean. Again nice job. Take care.

Hi yipcanjo,
First thing, if you came directly over from a Cyanogen build w/ out wiping first, I'd recommend that. The build design of the HTC/Rogers builds are quite a bit different, use different versions of the apps/frameworks. Now, if you're comfortable w/ adb, you could easily push these files into allla's current build. Make sure to do an adb remount, & then push the files into place. Reboot & you should be able to be on the T-Mobile network. The apns file that comes w/ the Roger's Dream/Magic is very very minimal to say the least. lol. That's why I figured I'd throw that in as well. Hope that gets you up & going. Take care.

The HTC Magic/Rogers builds don't include that. That's part of the hero builds. I'm sure it'd take some work to get it working on this build. It'd be easier to just rip Rosie out a Hero build & run it like the Magic/Dream builds. I don't claim to be an expert, but that seems like the easiest thing to do. Allla, sorry I didn't mean to try to hijack your thread. Take care.
Yeah. That's what I'm doing now. Got hopeful with the HTC dialer. lol

If I could make one more suggestion. I don't want to try to take anything away from your work. If I were you, I'd use the Rogers HTC Magic or may be hotweiss's HOFO build as my starting point & then mod that. I think you'll find it a little easier. His builds are based on the official update for the Magic. There's some differences in the apk's/frameworks between the Magic/Dream releases. You'd really only have to include the kernel, wlan driver & make what other changes you'd like to do. When I was using the HTC Magic updates for my mod, I noticed some problems & once I went back to the "Dream" update, everything was fine again. I'd still use the files I provided you if you choose to use the stock rogers update though. I'll check back & see how things are working out for you. Again, nice work. Take care.
I've just installed it (for multitouch ), version 1.2
OK:
- Gmail Sync OK
- Active Sync (Contact, Calendar) OK (I Don't use mail sync
- Browser MultiTouch OK (greattttttt )
- WiFi OK since 1.1
NOK:
- adb shell: c /system/app, then "ls' is not working ??? (pwd OK)
thanks

1. Not all of Cyanogen's features are meant for a Magic (some actually slow it down). His ROM is designed for a Dream with less space and keyboard.
2. If you incorporate all of his features you'll end up with his ROM, so why waste your time duplicating his ROM?
3. People should be given the chance to create their own custom ROMs, this will create diversity so people can choose.
We've found a solution for the wifi problem. I'll upload the update tomorrow evening.
Tried a couple of installs of this - each time it just hangs on the Vodafone screen and won't go any further.
Anyone else seen this issue with any ideas, would be appreciated!

This is not a HERO rom though? This mean you've isolated the bits required for Full Exchange Support? Possible to add these to a non-hero ROM like JACxROM 1.4r3?
To answer my own question: This is an HTC ROM so it includes the required framework and other bits. Google ROMS do not, and I've been told would take too much work to port. HERO ROMs are ALSO HTC ROMS and so they too include this feature.

When is your next update arriving? I'm anxiously awaiting the next iteration...
Does anyone know where i would begin to modify the browser.apk file codes from the lastest super d 1.4 rom? i like the browser better than the latest loccy version ( no disrespect) but i want to add the features that loccy had such as remove the notification bar, double/triple tap zoom functions and mobile web settings. I havent seen an update to the browser yet and its been out for about a month, i want to try and get to work on it myself, but im not sure where to begin or where to find the code. I have all the sdks, and im a intermediate user of adb, terminal emulator etc. ( 1 whole year havent bricked my device yet lol)
Thanks in advance devs
yeah son
loccy is slacking on his mackin, slipping on his pimpin... he should a definately been on it................. orrrrr is heee.. hmmmmmmmm.... ::Maybe loccy got flash working on the 2.0 browser n hes working out the bugs:: ... maybe not.. im a paitently waiting.. it a hapen sooner or later just a matter a time.. thanks for bringing it up though
Have you tried PM'ing Loccy? He PERFECTED the Cupcake/Donut browser... I'm sure he can do the same for Eclair.
i think he may have used smali/baksmali to do it http://code.google.com/p/smali/

Cyan... you ooze awesomeness. Every time I think, wow, this ROM is perfect, if only it had this feature... you add that feature in your next build. Even if it's one I thought we wouldn't see for a long time, if ever on a Donut ROM (Like the backported Eclair browser itself, for example).
Okay, enough gushing. May I make a suggestion? Automatically toggle fullscreen on/off based on the urlbar visibility. When it is fully visible, show the notif. bar. When the urlbar is partially or completely hidden, hide the notif. bar. Best of both worlds! You just scroll all the way up to see both bars. But the first thing it needs is a fix for zooming out and lifting one finger before the other... if you feel so inclined as to work on that....

[ROM(s)] Android 2.1 AOSP Eclair v1 "Basic" and v0.1 "Raw Bacon" with Live Wallpapers
Release Name: Android 2.1 AOSP Eclair v1 "Basic" and v0.1 "Raw Bacon"
Release Version: "Basic v1" and "Raw Bacon v0.1"
Credits: Cyanogen for kernel, wlan and compcache modules, Enomther for the ideas for my current implementation for running boot-time scripts, Maxisma for the Milestone dump which was the source for most Gapps used on this rom.
Superuser.apk, su, Term.apk, libterm.so, VoiceSearchWithKeyboard, GoogleVoice.apk, GenieWidget.apk, and LocationProvider taken from ctso's intension rom (LocationProvider fix suggested to ctso by kingklick).
AOSP for the eclair code.
Base Firmware: 2.1
Radio Required: 2.22.19.26I
SPL Required: None/any
Partition Layout: support for linux-swap in sdcard partition 3, no apps2sd support
Wipe Required: Required if coming from 1.6. Recommended if coming from 2.0+
Download:
Android 2.1 AOSP Eclair "Basic" v1
md5sum: 0addefcdf572f92877a2d2aaad6527b6
Android 2.1 AOSP Eclair "Raw Bacon" v0.1
md5sum: c0aa799e055f326fb52492cdc4c9ece6
These two releases are based on AOSP's eclair branch which is currently a snapshot of Android 2.1. The goal is to get a build as similar as possible to the Nexus One's running on Dream hardware.
Build "Basic" is version1, stable, and is considered final until/unless there are 2.0+ compatible video decoding drivers released for the Dream.
Build "Raw Bacon" is version 0.1, a beta, and at the moment is not recommended for daily use. Launcher and Gallery from "Basic" were removed and Launcher2 and Gallery3D were placed instead. All but one of each notification, alarms, and ringtones were also removed from this build compared to "Basic" to allow it to fit on a regular SPL without needing a2sd.
Problems:
Note that on "Raw Bacon", Launcher2 has a bug on the app-drawer, it's not drawn right, and you can't drag/drop icons, if you're going to use it, do so through Menu>Add>Shortcut>Application.
Gallery3D works when it wants to. The problem there is much easier to solve, in a way. I just need proper GL libraries. I heard that Cyanogne had Gallery3D working perfectly, so I'll have to check with him, after that, the only problem with the build will be the Launcher and I'll be able to merge them both.
Features:
-Fully working Live Wallpapers in both "Basic" and "Raw Bacon"
-Compcache enabled by default. Linux-swap is used instead if there's a third partition on the sdcard
-Clocked at 528 mHz at all times
-Works on any SPL
-a2sd is not supported, but might be added in the future.
-Support for MT3G in the ramdisk, though it's not guaranteed, let me know if it works for you
-Five screens on both Launcher and Launcher2
-New Music App from 2.1
-Rooted
-Tether (wired and wireless) support
-Google Voice
-Voice keyboard
-Genie Widget
-Stable, even if it's a little slow
-Full working Google Sync
-Camera working
As always, flashing is your responsibility, if you screw up yada yada blah blah...

I really have no idea. I've tried it before, but it usually ends up with me losing interest, plus sometimes when you work with other people there's the whole time-pressure thing. I'd be glad if somebody wanted to help get this boat sailin'.

You should consider Wesgarner's kernel has Cyan features plus more.
Oh and i assume this works fine w/o swap?
I just noticed I left polar clock in there, it's never worked (even on the nexus one) and I swear I had removed it. Oh well, I'll remove it on the next (last?) release.
All I need at this point is to fix that app-drawer (I think I'll make another one rather than try to fix that one, it's hard coded to the n1's screen size), enable 3d rendering for Gallery3D (I keep getting an couldn't bind texture error in logcat), and tidy up some things.
Until we get full camera drivers, this is what we should be shooting for.
Now I need a break. I'll work on having a github you guys can clone and download/build later this week.

No, that's the difference between the two builds. The Basic one is stable because it uses the working old launcher and the old working Gallery.
The raw bacon uses the new launcher (works, but it's buggy at the app drawer) and gallery3d (nearly unusable) instead.
My personal release has all four apps for testing. I made these releases this way so that both could fit on the regular spl.

Ok so i started a project a while ago of porting espresso to the magic. I took a break and then this came out and i was like "lets give it one last go". It's not pretty and it's not close to done but i think it's good enough to release to the public.
here are the steps i took to get it to work
Code:
Started with Sanpei Legend 0.34RC
app - replaced with mytouch slide dump
- removed - abduction demo, amazon mp3, apppack, barcode scanner
bin - added missing files from mytouch slide dump
customize - replaced with mytouch slide dump
fonts - replaced with mytouch slide dump
framework - moved to system partition and replaced with mytouch slide dump - framework.jar - repacked with legend's android/os/Power.smali, jbtlspp.smali, gpslocaionprovider*.smali
- moved back to data partition due to not enough room on system
media - replaced with mytouch slide dump then re-added boot animation
xbin - added missing files from mytouch slide dump
lib - added - missing from mytouch dump
etc - added - missing permissions from mytouch slide dump
build.prop - edited to truly make the rom my own ;)
most things work (wifi, bluetooth, etc.) but every so often there is a force close. I'd say it's pretty fast considering i've done no optimizing yet
I've experienced a couple crashes while changing themes but it only happens sometimes. If this happens just pop out the battery and try again. Once it starts running it runs pretty smooth.
You guys will have to enter your own apn until i figure out why it won't accept the apns-conf.xml but that's no problem just skip the initial setup and go to accounts and sync after
thanks to sanpei, ahmgsk, and cursorsense for all their work on the new radio, maybe people will realize that good builds are being pumped out and switch over.
Lastly any bug reports would help the development of this rom. Please post in a helpful way.
without further ado i present to you SPHAEROSLIDE ALPHA

I Have a version on the old radio working but many problems still - supposed to be getting some updates soon to fix most issues
not ready for public release yet imo
can you please add some screenshots?
Great stuff. Nurture this project, because it promises to be great.
For now, many applications do not work: Internet, Market, and others. I could use a multilingual staff. It is the alpha counting of the rapid development of this rom.
And that's good
excuse my English.
no keypad, there are many errors reported. wype typing error on htc magic.
Hey, something is happening with this ROM? It is worth it to continue to develop.
Hey, guys! I'm here with another tool that basically opens for edit, all the framework-res bools. This allows toggling on and off a few core system features that could actually pay off. Read on to know a few of those cool features that you could edit with just a few taps and no complex CLIs!
What's Zenith?
The framework-res holds most of our core system settings which are referred to in most system as well as user-grade apps. As such, these settings aren't open for editing and for a few of 'em it's over mediocre in difficulty. Well, Zenith is the merger and this simple tool could unlock a couple of cool features that you didn't even know are up on your phone. It could even turn out to be the game changer for a few who're considering a phone upgrade!
What can it do?
Consider the bool, config_allowAllRotations. By default on most stock / vanilla Android devices, device rotation is restricted to just 3 orientations. In short, you don't get a reverse portrait (held upside down) or in some cases even a reverse landscape. The above-stated bool which by default is set to false when toggled unlocks this feature which could potentially turn out to be quite nifty to a few geeks out there at least. That's just one out of a pool of features that you could go explore! The configs right now are difficult to apprehend by the layman but a hair of logical reasoning might come in handy. A Google search would yield you nothing but a redirect to the AOSP archives on their git! Documentation support for each of the bools is on its way and let me tell you, it's community driven so hope you'd contribute! :good::laugh:
Is it buggy?
Follow the instructions built into a ReadMe option on the executable without which you might just shoot in the dark. And yeah I don't see any bugs as of now, let me know if you find any.
Cool, where do I find Zenith?
Right here! Check out the attached ZIP.
Not really, yet call it a BETA since it lacks an edge right now but let me know if any more features can be added. Thanks!

Hi,
This looks interesting!
But since it's about frameworks, maybe you should mention whether they should or not be deodexed!

Hey Nonta72! Sorry for the not mentioning that, but it works regardless of whether the frameworks are deodexed or not. Just plays around with the XMLs! Thanks!
