How do I add the day of the week to my Chome configured Sliding Panel + Media home screen?
Anybody wanna walk me through it, please?
I found HTCSlidingPanel.home.xml in Windows/Application Data/Home, copied it to my PC desktop, changed the file extension to .txt, and looked, but couldn't find the line to change, or how exactly to change it to show the day of the week.
Then I just rename it back, drop it on my SD card, and overwrite it with Total Commander, right?
Thanks a ton.

I downloaded a bunch of nice glass icon set and would like to replace the existing WM6 icons such as MEI and other programs. What is the easiest method of doing this? I did a search but found no results. Any help would be appreciate it.
To change icons in start menu you need to replace the icons on shortcuts by changing the *.lnk files in windows\start menu and its sub-folders.
Just add a ',' (coma) to the end of the text in the file followed by the name of the icon file. You could also look for apps that make shortcuts on PPC. There are even some free ones.
But if you want to change icons of today plugins and other system icons you need to unsign, res-edit then resign some DLLs and that's not an easy process.
Darn it, check this out i got these awsome icons i wanna use.

Ok so these are program icons. No problem there - just get a good graphics app to shrink them to 32x32 pixels and save as *.ico (windows icon format).
Check out GIMP, its free and supports many formats including *.ico and *.png
Then change the shortcuts in start menu.
Like I said before there are several apps (sorry, don't remember their names) that will let you do it easily.

The above is what I want to do, can you point me in that direction.
YES!!!!, I was able to copy the .png file to my storage card. Then using total commander, I was able to MOVE the file to the windows directory overwriting the original file. Then I did a soft reset to make sure it stuck, and it DID!!!
any chance you want to post the files that you used to overwrite the system files
thank you!
I`m intrested too! Thanks!

Can you tell me what the location was that you copied to - all I can find is the hklm etc etc and it wont let me move to there
I've really made an effort to search the net for my answer and have had no luck. Whenever I open a folder and have files in them (text, etc), the default view is icons. I want to change the view to "list" just as in the reg WinXP OS. Total Commander and other like programs do this but when I open the regular Program folder or one of my own through Start Menu, the folder opens with Icons and text. Thanx.

Certain folders have seperate views, just make sure when you see the view you don't want, you change it. Also, be sure to close (X) out properly to save the setting.
hi all
does any one know what the file is called that locks the phone.
when selected from the quick list.
thanks in advance
Howdy,
For a while I too was wondering about that and therefore did a little researching;
"\Windows\ctlpnl.exe::cplmain 1"
to activate it.
Verify via;
Goto Windows directory and find wc_password.wcml
copy it to xxDirectory and rename it's extention to wc_password.txt
so you can view it with pword.exe cq PPC Word.
That took me 7 minutes to figure out.
Now I'm gonna make some of my own *.wcml files
Have fun
Modify Lock Screen
I want to remove the arrows and the caption "slide" from the attached png. Anyone knows how to? I have tried modifying png file as well as the cpr but failed.
Thanks

how do you actually delete the ones you want to get rid of? i under stand this is to stop them reloading but how do you get rid in the first place?
file manager
go to windows>start menu>programs and delete them from there.
Might be an easier way I've not heard of though?
Thanks czar.nik
I have made new folders using activesync in my windows/start/programs folder. The new folders are programs, apps web, etc.
Using the phones file manager, I have cut and pasted the appropriate icons in the start menu to their respective new folders that I created. Ex: I put opera and IE in the web folder, camera, video recorder in the mutimedia folder and so on. After I did the cut and paste, when I look at the windows/start/programs folder with either activesync or the phones own file manager, the icons that I cut and pasted are in their new folders, and not in the windows/start/programs folder. But, when I open the start icon on the phone, the icons I cut and pasted to the new folders still are visible, along with the same respective icon that I cut to the folders.
I did all this to unclutter the start screen. I have installed the touch X remove reappearing icon cab and have validated the registry change to 0. But, the supposed cut icons are still there, cluttering up the start page. Any ideas on how to get rid of this things forever??!!
Any solutions......anybody?
"Fun & Info" can be removed somehow?

Try to restart your device. If it doesn't help, delete those icons from star menu entirely (or move them somewhere else), restart your device (then there should be non of these icons anywhere in start menu) and then move them anywhere you want. It worked for me when i encountered this problem, so it's at least worth the try.. Good luck
not working, please help
i installed the cab and tried deleting icons on both the file explorer and on the windows mobile center on my pc. It is not working. The files are no longer there but the icons are, except now they are grey files, not the icons as before. Please somebody walk me through this step by step.

I've also been told there isn't a way to get the original icons off the start menu that tmobile had on the phone when i got it, such as bn eReader, blockbuster, etc. I need help.

Hi guys,
well it looks like I've almost finished tweaking my device to exactly how I want it! The final thing I want to do is move the loose items on my start screen, Skyfire, Sprite Backup etc..into custom folders.
I've used File Explorer, gone to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs made my custom folders ie Maintenance, Tools etc... and cut and pasted the loose items into the new folders. When I go to the start menu afterwards, all the new folders are there with the correct icons inside but the original, loose icons are all still there too outside the folders as they were before. How can I remove the old icons without losing the functionality of the various software? In the start menu, the original icons are all in the folders, there are no duplicates! A soft reset doesn't help either. I'm sure what I'm trying to do is possible but am I missing something?
Thanks
Use Total Commander.
Don't Copy files. Move them.
Remove the old icons with Total Commander. Delete uselss icons in Windows/ Start Menu / Programs
But in the File Explorer, there are no double icons?! All icons are in the folders I put them in. I didn't copy any of them, I cut and pasted them into the folders I wanted. So in file explorer, everything is correct.... It's only when I go to the start menu that it looks wrong.
Weird.
Delete all files in Application Data/HTC/ProgLauncher.
Then soft reset.
PS. More generally I would recommend you do not use File Explorer but rather Total Commander.

Haha.. I did that too and soft reset because I use custom icons I knew that was how to remove the stuck ones. I did the shortcut enable reg tweak too. Strange huh? I'll look into Total Commander but do you have any other ideas?
Thanks
