Thanks for that Karlos, appreciated. It is expensive isn't it! (15 Euros).
I'll give the trial a go and see if it works.

EcoGyser
Hello,
If I understand you, you can find on MarketPlace this soft "EcoGyser".
It's Free.
You can find a french version here http://marketplace.windowsphone.com/details.aspx?appSKU=40255b28-3cb1-488f-b68b-a90c726a1b9f&retURL=/Default.aspx
It works fine on my HTC HD2.
google racechrono, its free, and simple. works fine on leo
sorry dont have the link
apparently its racechrono.com
www.racechrono.com
does all performance tests ( 0-60mph, 1/4 mile, ... all in metric too) based on gps, not accellerometer, so more accurate.
and did i mention its free?
Unfortunately none of those do HP though

Hey guyz,
well, It's that time.. in the next few months I am looking to upgrade my li'l QTEK S110 and I am looking for some sort of 'easy to view' pages to compare all the different pda phone models to see which will be best for me.
I love the size of my S110, so will be looking for something of a similar size. I'd like WIFI, as I work right on top of a couple of hotspots. Bluetooth .. well, haven't really used it.. um infrared? well no not really used that either, but I guess if its on the phone.. I'd love to have GPS, as I do travel.. um.. a full size keyboard might be fun.. but I have got used to just using a stylus (yes, it is a pain in the ar$e at times) I use my phone to play music and I sync emails etc using the excellent syncexpress. The obligatory USB connection is a must and a decent camera would be good too. I am currently using SD cards and have loads of 'em spare, so if the new phone used them as well, that'd be a bonus too!!!
So, can you good folk help?
Thaaaaaank you!!
yo dood,
you can help your self and check all the pdas with detailed,Compared Specifications on the market on
www.pdadb.com
BTW
hard to fined pda that support sd or mmc anymore,(the best now is minisd).
Ah!!! Thanks for the link! I'm off to check it out.
Much appreciated. ;o)
Any more out there folks?
HTC have a very useful comparison page on their website. If you're after a HTC, it's a logical place to look.
V
Yes, thanks Vijay, Actually, I'm there now! ;o) I'm just seeing at the moment if the Orbit/PP3300 is the only HTC handset with GPS. I think it is.
HTC S730 ('Wings'): Has anyone spotted it already?
It's now available on Tmobiles website:
http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Detail.aspx?device=acc8102d-4506-4eaa-bc2f-9c7b8ec1b1e0
I may walk over to the local tmobile store later and see if they have one. You thinking about switching from your Vox?

Yeah, I'd like 3G (even though it drains the battery much faster).
And then supposably there is the 2nd video cam and a GPS receiver.
The cpu is apparently a Samsung running on 400MHz.
Combined with the same form factor as the S710 it sounds unbeatable to me.
Ah, that's the "Wing" in T-mobile's shop and is a different model.
The S730's nickname is "Wings"
Here's a preliminary spec:
http://handheld.softpedia.com/devices/HTC/HTC-S730--Wings-322.shtml
The release date is July '07

Everyone keeps saying it is coming out, but frankly, besides a photoshop'd mockup of this, there have been NO, repeat NO pictures of this in any form. No one has reported seeing one, no fuzzy pictures, etc. Until we get some information about this phone, some pictures, a release of info that is credible, I think that it's no where near release, and more like a Christmas time release at earliest. Seriously, why release the Vox, and then something that will blow it out of the water less than 6 months after the Vox release? It will cannibalize it's own market segment. I hope I am wrong, but with no pictures, or info on it, I don't see it as anything more than a future release, and nothing sooner.
Yes, it seems hard to imagine that they will release it so soon after the S710. However, there are different markets for both models. Don't forget that many users have no need for 3G, besides that the battery drains much faster. In that spec on pdadb.net it mentions only 12 hours! If that's true then many users are better off with the S710.
The Qalcomm MSM7200 chipset exists already since more than a year and does offer all those cool features. Usually mobile manufacturers need about a year to build phones around a new chipset. So from that point of view the timing could be right.
Here is more info about the chipset:
http://www.cdmatech.com/download_library/pdf/msm7200_chipset.pdf
http://www.cdmatech.com/products/msm7200_chipset_solution.jsp
Anyhow, I would love to test a S730
t-mobile wings
this wings phone does not have a front camera !!!!
HTC Wings is not the same as the T-Mobile Wings...

D'you think the pic showing "active GPS" is for real or just a mockup?
GPS is a deal/no deal feature for me (in addition to the feeble battery... but as for the Vox there may be more powerful replacement batteries available).
Like for the Hermes there will most likely be a Wings100, Wings200... at least with different casing. Would a provider (like T-Mo Germany) be able to order units which are GPS hardware-deficient (lacking antenna, for instance)? For example, T-Mo Germany disabled (mechanically blocked!) the front videocall button of its "MDA vario II" Hermes variant.
How would one be able to tell if a specific S730 unit indeed has all necessary GPS hardware onboard?

I would recommend HTC HD
But first check here so you can make your own slection based on what you really need form a PDA:
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdachooser
Cheers,
Assuming money isnt a problem.
You need to know what you wanna do with the PDA.
1. Do you need GPS?
2. Do you play games?
3. Fast internet?
4. Do alot of typing?
5. Powerful Processor?
6. music and/or video?
7. Advance configuration like changing roms, cooking and major software tweaking?
If all the above is yes. Raphael is the overall best.
Touch HD got no D-pad so gaming is a little tedious. It also does not have a keyboard but has a superbly large screen.
Processor need not be powerful and need not type alot? got for Asus. P750 if u have the budget P320 if not.
Are you intending to learn to cook roms and develop software. Try HTC G1 android.
They're all my opinions only. As Orb3000 wrote "But first check here so you can make your own slection based on what you really need form a PDA:
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdachooser"
thank you guys! artemis is HTC p3300?? how about samsung omnia i900? is it good? i like the design and the specs ... i like the HTC HD but the price is so high ... 700 euros ... that's a lot of money that i will never spend on a PDA phone! I had the LG KS20 in may this year and i was very, very disappointed!

So far there has only been one good response to your question (Serphinox). You need to identify what YOU want the phone to do and be specific. All you will get is blatent favourtism with the way your question is worded.
Blatent favourtism...... (and my honest, very experienced opinion)
I have owned serveral HTC phones and regreted each one eventually. I now have an Omnia with the HJ5 firmware (a must!) and its absolutley awesome. It kicks some serious HTC booty. I've had a Blue Angel, TyTN, TyTN 2 and currently still own a Touch Diamond (Of all my HTC phones, I've had at least 2 of each due to hardware failures/poor manufacturing). Which phone do I use everyday? The Omnia.... no contest. The Omnia does have a lower res screen than HTC devices but actually, this is well thought out. It allows for a longer battery life, its VERY fast at updating (even my TD with Swiftblade 7.5 don't stand a chance) and .... because its low res, its VERY finger friendly like the Iphone. Put simply, it works. I now have zero issues with it, something I have NEVER been able to say about ANY HTC phone i've used. It simply does its job, everytime, 100% of the time with no fuss. Note though: Because of the screen res, don't buy it if you want to play games as they are generaly written in the standard screen formats of which this is not. Btw, dont use Samsung Widgets, they are for Joe Punter, you want Samsung Today 2... its the daddy!
Oh, who else has 32gig storage in there phone? Currently I have some 2500+ songs and iGO8 with all the world maps ..... and still loads of storage free
You know, i've also owned a Tosh G900 which was FAR from "tosh" and again an excellent phone. I only wish more people realised there was more to life than HTC.

edited my signature .. thank you for the great answer ! gonna get the omnia ... maybe dont know 4 sure but i believe it's a great deal. you say that the ress of the omnia screen is different from the other phones and i will not be able to play games ... now that's not GOOD
now i own a nokia e71 and i can change the ress of games and than install them into to my phone and they work ... is there a way that i could change the ress for the games that work on wm 6 devices??

its not that you WONT be able to play games, its just that you need games that are coded to work with odd screen sizes - and this can be limiting. I think its fair to say that most games written now are for 480*640 (640*480) and this is not the Omnias screen size. That said, the Omnia does seem to be selling very well so I would hope more developers start creating there apps to scale mathmaticaly rather than fixed for a specific size.
Should you wish to use SPB Shell, you are also limited to the amount of custom skins available however, this will grow .... you could even create your own!
As for your games, I would think you will be ok. They should be on your PC in your activesync program. Once you create a new sync between the pc and your new device, you can then go into activesync's add programs section and select to install. Of course, if you have the individual .CAB files (which are also actually on your pc as well) then you can just drag these on to your new device and install.
edit: I cannot stress enough though, you need to update to the HJ5 rom if you buy it. Details can be found at i900.modaco.com.
I vote for the Touch Pro.
In my opinion HTC devices I own or owned (Universal, Tytn and Touch) are great devices, never had problems with them, so that makes me stick to HTC because their experience manufacturing WM powered devices, also the great support and the main reason because of this wonderfull site!!.
If you decide for the Omnia you will not have the support form this site has for HTC devices (I´m sure exist another sites for Omnia)
So once again I´ll recommend an HTC device absolutly
Just my personal opinion
Good luck on your decision!

However, OP, you have not really said what your requirements are and you need to. Be specific and people can really recommend properly rather than our phones

as long as you upgrade to latest firmware (see i900.modaco.com) you won't regret it. I would recommend though you try and see if you can get an Omnia-T. As mentioned, same phone but has DVB-T and 800*480 screen - although this will decrease battery life a little.
Anyway, enjoy!

I want to get a GPS software for my smartphone. I know there are tomtom, garmin, navigon etc. Which one is the best? Could anyone give me some suggestion?
After using Garmin XT, TomTom and Rt 66,
GARMIN wins for me, although they were all good I like some of the features of it better.
Just a personal choice though.
Which phone do you have?
Garmin and Tomtom both are good. You can choose the most suitable from these two if you can afford. If not, you can google some cheaper but still good GPS softwares to try. Good luck.
what about freeware gps softwares? any good options out there?
I have to say, that I am very pleased with Garmin XT! Everything works perfectly!

Yes, this is what I am looking for.
An eBay application similar to iPhxxe eBay App
It would be really handy
i found this application for diamond, it's in french.
i can give you some screenshot,
i ve found the cab extract from sfr rom
i can install it but i can t use it...
Thanks I will give it a try
mYspike is another Ebay-app. Its avaiable in german, I dont know if an english translation exists. Also, its not fingerfriendly, but useable on my hd2. Works nearly perfect.
I find wap.ebay.co.uk works really well. Plus you don't have another app hogging precious memory.
