Hello, I am using WM 6.5 with Manila 2.5.
I use Second Today, as well, in order to use iPhone Today as a program launcher (as the programs tab is missing in Manila 2.5).
I would like to set a softkey in Second Today that brings me to (manila) "home".
Can somebody help me?
Many thanks

I think you need to assign it to SToday Quit. I think you can change it in the SToday Settings program.

Thanks, I already tried this solution but this way Second Today unloads from memory and then if you launch it again you must wait a bit to load it. It is not a big problem, but I would prefer to maintain it loaded and have a switch to (Manila) home. Unfortunately I do not know which parameters I should use.
Ok, I understand. I have the same program and the same issue. I usually go back to the home screen by pressing the bottom right hard button "home" or phone red key. Alternatively you can press the top right "OK" softkey.
Sometimes you may want to exit Second Today, so I have assigned the softkey to do this. If you really want to NOT exit Second Today and assign a softkey, then look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416688.
I hope this is the solution for you.

In SecondToday softkey settings select left key and manila and apply to registry.
If your Manila soft key is set to Second oday, this should toggle between the 2.

Thanks, I have tried the solutions proposed there but none works.
Maybe I am doing something wrong...
Instead of selecting manila in softkey settings, try selecting 2nd today. Should work.

I do not understand.
Which version of Second Today are you using? Mine is 0.4.3.
This version gives the possibility to show and modify the softkeys both of Second Today and of Manila.
I have radio buttons to the left, one for Left Key and one for Right Key.
On the right I can chose among Second Today, Manila 3D and Manila 2D Keys.
Based on the combination of selections you can change either the softkeys in Manila or in Second Today. But there is no option to bring you to Manila.
There is no way to do what you say, or at least I do not understand...

I am running Ver. 0.4.0.
Remove all keys and start from scratch.
Select "Left Key" and "Second Today"
Title it whatever you want, I just use "Today".
Apply to registry and it should toggle.

Thank you for your patience, but what should I put in "Path to program:" ?
If I do not put anything there it does not work, I simply get the name of the softkey but pressing it gives me an error message and nothing happens...
Unless there is some difference between 0.4.0 and 0.4.3 at this regard

I did not understand before...
No prob.
Intuitively you would think that SecondToday softkey would be set to manila and visa-versa, but both actually have to be set to Second Today to toggle...
Glad you finally got it working.

I prefer pBar. It has some problems with WM6 concerning the taskbar when using the clock display. But I've turned off this option. I've created a shortcut to my start menu, and assigned pBar to a hardware button
pbar, tman, say NO to x-button.
pbar is good but it came as an executable which i dropped into stratup.
i also put a shortcut on my start menu
but how can assign it to a hardware button?
. seems that only registered programs are in the drop down
bhayani
If it is in Start Menu, it must appear in the "Buttons" menu in settings. so you can assign it to any HW button, I prefer voice button.
Dinarsoft Handyswitcher is light and useful to me...
SPB Pocket Plus
Pocket plus has a good task switcher like windows xp and you can set it to the voice record button then you can use it all the time.

yes it is possible
Yes! I've used Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3.cab.
In advanced configuration you can select different applications to set in the bottom of the home screen.
Could you tell me where will I find it (which option should I choose)
Search here in XDA for "advanced configuration tool V3.3.cab" (thanks shape!) and install it!
Then U go in "User Interfaces"->menu->more setting->key mapping and here you can sett every programs you want assign to the sofkeys!
in order to not make another thread; where will I find "phone"? I've changed it by mistake, and now I can't switch it back.
If you use AdvancedConfig then, you can change the softkey by looking up the "phone" shortcut from the drop down list or you can just leave it blank & it will change it automatically to the default setting.
Maybe a little OT... But I read that .NET 3.5 needs to be installed. Can I simply download and install it or do i need to manually do register changes afterwards (read that I had to somewhere)?
Just install NetCF3.5 to your phone (Main Memory or Storage Card) does not matter, mine is running just fine from SD Card. Soft reset & it should run with no issues.
Continuing the OT:
The Netcf 3.5 is not replace automatically but we must change the values on the register.
HKey_Local_Machine -> Software -> Microsoft ->. NETCompactFramework
click on item 2.0.7045.00 and change the value from 1 to 0
click on item 3.5.7283.00 and change the value from 0 to 1
Close ... soft reset and you have the ROM with the NETCF 3.5!
ok, now I know. However it worked for me without having to change registry settings.
or use this progam, works on diamond 2 too..
Does anyone know how you might, in a similar vain, get Notes to appear on the home screen?
@marcelvanblankers:
doesnt work on my td2! after restart it seems like it does, as there actually are the replaced buttons being displayed, but when tf3d launches there are "phone" and "camera" back again.
That's BS.
I just installed NetCF 3.5 via .cab and Advanced Config worked, without any registry changes.
i was talking of the softkeymanager1_1_diamond_beta.ARM_WM5.cab

one is for standard today, the other for TF3D..

change the keys in program, save settings then exit.
in TF3D switch a tab and switch back to homescreen.
now it will be changed, it works on my diamond2. in TF3d and in original today.

I'm a new user of Topaz.
Could anyone know that, is it possible to use the application like SKtools of AEbutton Plus to map the mentioned programme as left and right soft button ??
I was tried to do that, but it doesn't work so far
I use the facility in "TouchFlo Detacher" to remap the left and right soft buttons. The left one now puts my TD2 into standby, and the right goes straight to HTC's comm manager console ("\windows\CommManager.exe"). It works perfectly.

I've these 2 apps already, how to do it?
To change the left softkey to lock with S2U2, do this:
Install a registry editor. You can get a free one here: http://freewareppc.com/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/manila/
Change the value for HomeLSKPath, to this: \Program Files\S2U2\s2u2.exe
Change the value for HomeLSKText to this: Lock (or anything you want for the name of the button)
But....is it possible, to make a link to the build-in Lockscreen?
Greeting
Toni
I don't know if it's possible...I don't think the built in lockscreen has an exe file to link to.
Do you know how to set the left soft key to the Tasks? I've tried using a regedit and changing the Path to \Windows\Tasks.exe but get an error when I try and use it. Also tried setting it via BsB Tweaks, afterwich, the name Tasks is on the front screen but when I push it nothing happens.
I really thought changing the regkey (as stated above) to \Windows\tasks.exe would work.
Any help on changing the left softkey to Tasks please?

thanks for your information.
Actually I have already configured like this.
However, the performance of loading lock screen is poor.
In fact, I'm using the latest version of S2U2, which is version 2.30.
It supports a new feature to replace the default wm lock screen.
That is, if press "start" and then press "Lock" button at left softkey, S2U2 lock screen would be called.
I've tried to compare the performance of following 3 approaches:
1. turn on the new S2U2 feature to replace original wm lock screen
2. putting S2U2 icon to the quicklink at Manila home
3. modify left softkey of Manila home by S2U2 using above method
The result shown that 1 is the fastest but 3 is the slowest, even much slower than 2.
So, if it is possible to "copy" the Lock button from Start screen to Manila home screen, then it is perfect.
Hi everyone
Is there a way to create a shortcut to DEVICE LOCK? I'd like to put a shortcut as a quick launch but I've searched the whole device and don't seem to see an actual executable to launch the lock screen. Is this possible at all somehow?
Thanks very much in advance for the advice!
I know this may not be what you are after,
however, if i put my device into standby (short press hang up key) it locks the device
also im not sure if it is ROM specific but on Miri 15.1 if you enter the start menu there is a lock icon on the bottom left...
Sorry if i couldnt help

I've got the Left SoftKey on the Homescreen set as "Lock" which simply links to a lockscreen.exe program. So from the home screen I just press Lock, instead of using the "Start Menu/Lock" option.
If you want to configure something like this drop the Lockscreen.exe into the Windows folder and then configure the Left SoftKey to point to it.
Alternatively, you could add it as a QuickLaunch link if you prefer that for some reason.

I am using S2U2, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668415 as my choice of lockscreen. It has settings that allow one to lock the screen when it goes blank/black.
So when I press the End/Power On button i.e. the extreme right button, it blanks the screen and S2U2 will kick in in the background.
For the left hand button, I have assigned it for rotating the screen to landscape.

To set the Lock (or any Link) as the Left Soft-Key on the Homescreen, change the following key in the Registry:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112
Default: Lock
Open: \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Tools\LockScreen.lnk
(or wherever you have the Link)
You could also use the Cookie home tab app. Besides the many other options it provides, you can add a lock screen button on the main screen and even modify your actual lockscreen.
