App backup tool? - Touch Diamond2, Pure Themes and Apps

is their a tool to back up my apps cause im going to change roms also can i just copy my program files and will that give me my apps in the new rom? also if i do that will i get the icons and the ability to uninstall them?

There are many backup apps for WinMobile, such as Sprite Backup and SPB Backup, but be aware that if you change ROM, the backup won't be restored correctly. In this case, you will have to reinstall again everything you had before. Maybe Microsoft Myphone can do better..but I never tried and I would be extremely surprised.

i have change rom and i use pim backup, spb backup and sprite backup for messages, mail, call list. You can also use myphone.
For contacts and appointements i use actyvesync.
I re-install all programs with cabs, i don't thinks if you copy your programfiles it would work. For me all my cab for WM6.1 works with WM6.5.

How do I backup (and restore) my MMS?

Hi everybody.
I've 2 TyTNs.
The first has xda-live 0.2
The second has the standard italian rom.
After flashing the first I've lost all my messages (I was trying to restore a backup made with SPB Backup) but it didn't work at all.
Before flashing the second I'd like to backup (on WM5) and restore (on WM6) all data.
For Contacts I use NS Contact Backup (I prefer it to outlook)
For SMS I use SMS Backup but it works for SMS only.
For Outlook Emails I use Activesync.
What can I use to backup MMS on WM5 and restore them on WM6?
(I already tried SMS organizer but it hangs. )
Thanks anyone.

tnx rudegar but I already tried that.
My problem is that I'm trying to backup on WM5 and restore on WM6.
Standard backup programs don't work (even "Sprite Backup" fails restoring MMS both in normal and in "device upgrade" mode)
(the restore goes ok but the "MMS" account disappears)
Maybe there's something to change in the registry?
Any hints on how to fix this?
How do I make the "MMS" account appear again?

contacts not working!

What's Up? Just have a quick question about going from wm5 to wm6. I had tried to transfer my contacts by just moving the pim file over like I have always done in the past. This time it just makes my screen crash on wm6 has anybody else had this problem?

The PIM files of WM5 and Wm6 are NOT compatible. YOu have to go the normal way - syncing. So hardreset - new partnership and active sync.
SOrry - only way - i guess.
ahhh alright thanks

Or... you can install PIM Backup on WM5, take a backup with it, then install WM6 and then run PIM Backup there to restore you contacts, addresses, SMS, phone log, etc... This works since it does not restore the actual PIM but uses a CSV (or similar) type file to backup and restore from. Very handy for moving between versions and roms.
nice moved everything right over. thanks

Restore email accounts

I tried SPB backup and Sprite backup. Both not restores email accounts. Everything is OK but email accounts not come back. I never see like this problem in forum. Everyone says that everything is fine about SPB backup and Sprite backup. Whats wrong for me?
I'm using T-mobile Wing and Justme ROM by Ivan.

POOM - App to read EDB (pim.vol?)

Hey
does there exists a reader respectivle an interface to gain access to EDB database files from microsoft over POOM? For example I need to reveal hidden contacts from my pim.vol after deleting my PCs partnership in activesync.
I know that the contacts and numbers are saved in plain text in the pim.vol - so, It can not be that hard?
thanks
nicky
why dont you use PIMBackup by dotfred?
thanks...'caus I guess PimBackup just copy the pim.vol to another location, like SPB Backup it does. Yesterday I tried SPB Backup without success... thats the problem: I need a tool that can establish a "connection" to the pim.vol and not just copy it.

Wrong.
PIMBackup DOES establish a connection. Copying over the pim.vol hasn't worked since WM5.
ah yeah, ur right. I checked it out. PimBackup gives me an compressed archive with all my pim items in plain text... but unfortunately it does just backup of the visible items... of course it does...^^
I called on dotfred regarding this matter, hope he can help...
thanks anyway for your suggestion!

Missing imported contacts after ROM upgrade

I did some searching and didn't have any luck finding a similar situation...
Anyway, I had imported my contacts from my old phone into my Fuze (they just copied the SIM card at the AT&T store), and the first thing I did was a Sprite backup.
After some time, I decided to upgrade the ROM to NATF's, and then I ran the PIM backup utility.
The issue is that the PIM backup didn't seem to grab the imported contacts from my old phone, just the newly entered contacts.
I ran the executable from the Sprite Backup and that didn't seem to load them either...although I only loaded with the 'Personal Data' option selected.
I'm hoping that they're still around somewhere....is there a possibility to restore them?
