Exchange Support on cooked ROMs

Are there any roms/ports 1.6 or above with exchange support? (contacts, mail, calendar)
I love the maps nav but couldn't live without Exchange unfortunately. One day when we switch to only blackberry *shudder*.
I'm interested too, it's a pain having to choose between 1.6 goodies and exchange support. Mail works on 1.6, but calendars and contacts don't as far as I know.
i'm yet to find a rom higher than 1.5 that has full exchange support.
they all seem to do either mail only or mail and contacts, but not calendar.
it's one of the reason i still use a cupcake rom.
i moved up to a donut rom and tried to get by without calendar, but it was just too frustrating.

[Q] Cyanogen Account Sync on CDMA Hero

I just completed my first root. Installed Cyanogen 6.1 Stable (Froyo) and overclocked using SetCPU. My knowledge is quite limited as I just switched from WinMo to Android 2 days ago. I installed GAPP but it only allowed me to sync my Google contacts. I located the Gmail apk but it will not auto-sync my messages. I have to manually initiate send/receive. When I go to settings/accounts, Google shows up but it only displays the option to sync contacts and not mail or calendar. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've spent a considerable amount of time searching for a solution to no avail. Thanks.
Ummm....did I post this in the wrong place?
I am using the gmail app, not the email app. Calendar, email and contacts all sync.
One think to note is when you create a calendar event on your phone make sure you pick the calendar with your email address, otherwise it will not sync.

[Q] No Exchange calendar sync

hello everyone, I've been playing around for a couple of days with several froyo ROMS and every one of them have a single issue in common: I cannot sync my Exchange calendar with the phone. I can setup the exchange account normally and it works for email and contacts but in the calendar list I can't see my exchange one, only the standard google one. It might be due to the absence of some core blur apps, but I'm not even sure it works on a stock 2.2 rom.
I was thinking about swap all calendar/email apps with the stock apks, I already tried calendar.apk and email.apk with no luck. I can't find the stock calendarsync.apk, may be I already have the stock one, don't know for sure!
any ideas? Thanks!
Not sure what the issue could be. As far as I know all Froyo builds have calendar. All of them I have tried have worked. Any of the Blur roms should work as well.
I've noticed really hit-and-miss exchange syncing among various ROMs. I change ROMs rather frequently just because I like to test out the latest and greatest, but I also rely on exchange for my work account and the unreliable exchange support of the built-in e-mail apps was frustrating. I ended up buying 'enhanced e-mail' from the market and haven't looked back. Now I don't have to worry if the included mail client will support exchange, I just install EE and I'm done with it. The developer of it is super responsive. I VERY rarely pick up paid apps, but this was a good buy for me.
well, I ended up deleting email.apk and calendar.apk instead of trying to fix them
I'm quite sure this problem is due to the absence of some core files, on the stock nordic rom it works fine! I also use an aftermarket app, RoadSync, it works quite well but the developer is almost non existent, I'll try enhanced email
I might be way way off on this one, but I think that the normal calendars (AOSP and Moto's version for Defy) can only sync with one external calendar.
So, for me, I choose not to sync my Google Calendars (an option you can set in your accounts screen), but choose yes to sync my corporate cal. Upon next reboot & sync I see my work calendar on my Defy.
(I'm using AOSP 2.2.2 Email.apk and Moto's calendar on a Nordic build 2.2.2 ROM. I sync three GMail accounts mail and contacts but not calendar, and one Exchange account all mail/contacts/calendar).
Like I say, I might be wrong, but I think you can only sync your first calendar and not all of them.

I can sync both my Exchange calendar and my Google calendar. I have done so with both AOSP and Blur.

[Q] My and Wife's Email?

Have one arriving today. I anticipate my wife and I both will use it. Basing it in the kitchen.
Anyone know of a reasonable way for it to handle email for both the wife and myself? I'm sure we could access Gmail via the Browser, but just wondering if there is a client. Then of course I expect there to be a login / logout for each of us if it is even possible.
You could configure the Gmail app for one mailbox, and the normal Android mail app for another. They are both accessible by different icons
Gmail can monitor multiple accounts but it doesnt really do what you want to do to separate them.
This is one of my biggest beefs with tablets at the moment, there arent multiple logins. Its assumed that everyone is going to have their own personal tablet with their own bookmarks and such like a phone when it isnt the case. Hopefully Google is quick to recognize this and allow multiple accounts to access the device like a Windows machine.
I'm not sure how it is on honeycomb since the gmail app is newer than the one on the market, but on my phone running gingerbread, adding a second google account creates a separate section in the gmail app so that both accounts have unique folders rather than combining them.
You could of course add one through gmail and another through the stock email app, or access one via the browser.
Gmail will handle two accounts just fine. As long as neither of you have problems with the other having access to your account. In the upper right corner of the gmail app you'll have hte ability to switch between mutliple gmail, or google app accounts. The calendar apps will show all calendars in different colors as well and let you filter out only events from certain accounts if you'd like. Same with contacts.
If all you care about is gmail you just un check everything else in the account sync options and you will easily have your two accounts to access.
The android mail app works quite fine with gmail and push messaging as long as its set up for an exchange account and not gmail which seems counter intuitive but works great
You can also put widgets on the homescreen specific to each account.
This is great information. Many thanks!
The ASUS arrived about 15 minutes ago. Charging it now.
I'll experiment with the various thoughts, and post back how I ended up doing it and how it is working out.

I wouldn't use the Default Mail app for Gmail. You're better off using the actual GMail app.
I added my wife's account to the Gmail app, and it works great.
IMO, Default email app for gmail is crap compared to the gmail app itself.

Why not? Works great for me and I prefer it. I'm not sure why I'm better off as it acts pretty much exactly the same, and it lists my inbox subfolders better than the gmail app for me.

[Q] Exchange 2010 Calendar on my Galaxy Nexus

Hi...
I have a new Galaxy Nexus. Everything is fine so far. I different mail accounts installed (gmail, pop2, MS Exchange 2010).
The mails and the contacts from my Exchange account are shown and synced without problems. But the calendar does not show at all. Its not even listed in my available calendars nor is it in the list of the calendars to sync.
My phone is running on Android 4.0.1, Baseband I9250XXKK1...
I hope someone can help me... I do not want to use a 3rd party product. I like the look and feel of the calendar app.
Thank you!

Hi Timmy...
Thanks for the answer. The sync with email and contacts works without any problem...
I tried the touchdown App yesterday. There also the calendar sync works fine. But I would like to use the builtin Calendar and not a 3rd party App.
Thank for the support!
