Hello, Greetings for the New Year.
I am a final year engineering student, and am making a project that utilises Google Maps + Android. I was wondering if there would be any help available for me, if I encounter any problems in development. I am developing a geotagging app for android devices, which as the name suggests uses GPS/BTS data and helps to tag the current location (using Maps API), for sharing/hyperlinking. So can you help me get started? I have read the android documentation. Is there anything more that I should be reading?

Hello to all,
Im new here and to Android in general (just got my Desire HD yesterday!).
Main reason for coming to Android is because I have decided to do my university project as a mobile learning application on Android.
Some of the things I plan to implement are things such as the ability to read up on learning material and take mini tests on the application.
However, I am still at the research phase of the project and looking and what similar products exists.
Hopefully someone here can point me in the direction of where to look?

I am new to xda as well as mobile app development. I am a student and have taken this as a course for my semester concentrating on Iphone and Android apps. As a part of this course I am suppose to submit an application as a project and a paper (not research paper).
I require your help as suggesting me some topics on both as I am very new to this field. As I like working on Android apps, I plan to make some good apps on Android as a part of my project and present a paper related to Iphone/IOS so that I could cover both.
Please suggest me some topics which could help me learn new technologies for this. Any links for reference from where I can collect the topics would also do.

I just started working on my first Tizen project. But hit so many obstacles along the way.
One of my biggest problems is that tizen's webpage and forum are very little populated with developers and nobody really seems to know much.
Why don't you add the Tizen OS in you Operating System categories ? In that way we can talk about apps, problem, porting etc.

Would someone be able to suggest some Languages that I could learn, so I can attempt to write some Apps or just play around with the code? I do have programming experience. I was a software developer on IBM Mainframes for 30 years and would like to try my hand with the Android OS. Thank you in advance.
Hello Klings, start practicing Java, that's the main language that Android apps are built with. A could place to get familiar with Android classes / reference classes is: developer.android.com

I'm working on an Android Based Robot, and I have difficulties to find answer to my questions.
I would like to use a SoC (system on chip, basicly creating a device from the chip) with android to manage all the controle.
I'm wondering what are the constraintes and limitations for using the android system.
(for instance can I use all the services such as android voice recognition ? Is there any declaration/fee to use android as OS ?)
I have been looking online already but it seems I'm not using the right keywords.
And it seems really uneasy to contact people from android.
Do you have any idea where should I look ?
Also if you have experience/answer, I would be happy to hear it.
